FABBY: Newly Discovered "Gold lace Runner"

Hello sweet friends!

First of all I hope you are all celebrating the USA's Fourth of July weekend and having lots of fun!

Yesterday I was looking for a scarf for my neck in my scarf drawer, as the day was a little chilly and rainy around my woods; so my inspiration for this small tea setting is a beautiful vintage, gold lace evening shawl that belonged to my dear Mil and I had it very safely in a pretty scarf box, among the other silk scarfs. I didn't recognized it, or remembered what it was, so I presided to unfold it, feeling  geedy with excitement and it was this beautiful shawl, which is not my type to wear it myself, though. Immediately I envisioned me making a 'little switcheroo' on my formal dining table and using it as a 'runner'! I hope you like it's 'new life, or I'd say, it's re-purposed life,' as much as I do.

Don't you love it when you find special things in your own home, which you had had no idea you had? I do.. and this brings me to mind a few months ago, when I found the half way done crocheted round tablecloth from ten years ago, lol..

Please feel free to tell me whatever you think of it...if you like it as a runner, or as it was originally...a 'shawl'!  I will not be offended! Thank you.

Here is the beautiful vintage lace gold shawl with fringes that was my dear Mil's and now turned into a lace runner in my formal dining table.  I love how the etchings in a different wood in the table corner matches the roses in the lace too; which are gold as well.

The runner has lovely golden roses in an embossed fashion. I also decided to place my flowers in my vintage Italian yellow crystal flower vase, because of the gold lace.

I did my tea setting with my mother's French Limoges aqua cake plates and the Bavaria-German, antique tea set, which also has small flowers in aqua and with pretty gold rimmed in the tea cups and saucers.

I think I will leave this heavy bronze fruit bowl, from many years ago... after I clear the tea table; to continue with the gold in the runner and perhaps flanked by my Mil's antique bronze candle holders, also.

A close up of the Antique Bavarian-German tea set against the lace runner. I used as a tray the oval platter from the Limoges's dinner set, which my mother gifted me several years ago.
As you can see it's also quite long, perfect for this long table too.
Some tea anyone?

The runner and the fringes are very shiny gold like silk in real life, which the photo doesn't do justice. I'd love it come Fall too!

From here you can see a little of the foyer and living room.

The Limoges aqua cake plate with gold.

Here you can see a bit clearer the aqua flowers inside and out of the tea cup and saucer..like the plate.

I accept your comments about the shawl turned into a dining table runner. I would love to know what you think!

Thank you so much my sweet friends for stopping by, as you always make my day.

I appreciate the wonderful parties such lovely and gracious ladies host each week.

LOVE,
FABBY

FABBY: Blue, White, & Red Transferware

Hello sweet friends!

I want to start by thanking you so much for your great and generous comments on our trip to Florida. I am still catching up with you my friends, as I just had to be absent from blogland again for a couple of days, because I had to be present and went by plane's distance, for  a beloved aunt's funeral..one of dad's youngest sister and it took place in another town. She lost the battle of stomach Cancer... she was 79.

My table is in honor of my dearest country too...The United States of America. I bought from Florida these cute star plates for 99 cts. each at Michaels. I also used my red transferware salad plates and a lovely blue dinner plates with red carnations made back at our company and finally red chargers. I hope you like it.

I also pray and wish the USA be safe and be blessed by our Lord, for ever!
Wishing all of you my friends in the US a happy, safe and to enjoy a terrific 4th. of July weekend.

Have fun and eat yummy food too!

I will also be joining lovely Alison for her great party at FAVORITES ON THE FIRST at, http://thepolohouse
She is having a patriotic challenge on July 1, 2013.

I placed inside the crystal vase a few limes, flags and my Bil's beautiful red and white roses.

Banana cupcakes and berries in the sherbets.

I just added the United States Anthem, that my best friend Stephanie just gave me.
I love the star plates...here's one with the flag...

another plate with little white stars...

another with red stripes...

..love this one with the red and blue stars too. I placed in each a blue sherbet with red, yummy strawberries.

I thought the blue framed dinner plates, made back at our company, hand decorated in a doily fashion with red carnations, where just perfect for my Patriotic setting.

I paired the blue dinner plates with the red salad English Transferware plates.

The cutest star plates I just got from my trip to Florida.

Finally, I topped all the plate layers with blue sherbets.

A close up of the cute cupcake. The red linen napkins are paired with paper patriotic ones, along with red, white and blue enamel napkin rings. The red wine glasses are Italian from my C'mas stash and next my very old blue glasses from 1975.

Some more blue and red banana cupcakes.

The setting is by 'blue' candle light since I arranged it in the evening.

Happy Fourth of July to all of you!

Thank you my friends for visiting and for your sweet and lovely comments, as they always make my day!

I thank the lovely ladies for the wonderful parties they host each week.

LOVE,
FABBY

FABBY: A Summer Table Setting

Hello sweet friends!

After coming back home from our vacation in Florida with our dear family, I wanted to celebrate summer in the USA for you, since it's official now, as we just enjoyed a hot and sunny summer in Orlando and Miami; whereas in my neck of the woods it's always spring, warmer and colder, but now it's warm, with a soft sun and in the late 70's.

I decided to set a very colorful table, using my orange dinner dishes with lovely summer plates in different fresh colors I bought from the trip.  Next time I will use my new Read and Barton flatware, star plates for the 4th. of July and others.

Hope you like my summer tablescape for eight.

I decided on a blue tablecloth, opposed to a yellow one I almost picked; to remind me of the blue sea in Florida, as here in the Andean mountains there are blue skies, but not the sea.

I like my orange dinner plates, as the color goes so well for every season; now I'm using them for a summer table setting.

The ceramic vase, holding the cyclamen was made and hand decorated at our former Ceramic Co.-Monte Turi.

I love these wicker and cane chargers that I bought a couple of months ago; they are also light and fresh perfect for a summer setting.

The salad plates came in four colors..in yellow like here, and notice they have a butterfly too.

In green..

In blue...

And the last color is the orange. I love them all paired with the orange dinner plates. I bought eight of them, two in each color.

The last piece in the place settings is the Italian Bormiolli Rocco sherbets, from way back... for some fresh fruit medley, 'shrimp ceviche' or cocktail, etc. I used my ivory chunky flatware, green napkins with different color ceramic butterfly napkin-rings; which were also made by us.

The fruit plates at your left were also made back at our ceramic factory and they too have different fruit patterns hand decorated, like this one with 'sweet-tomatoes' and with a green pattern in the edges. The big platter with green decoration, at your left, was also made by us.

Here is a very summery decoration in the fruit plate.

Another with grapes and cherries.
Here is another fruit plate with peaches and grapes.

At left, another with apples and at your right with pears. There is others with bananas and babacos, a very local fruit, which I make pies with.

This is such a pretty green in the water glasses, again they'll be good come C'mas season too, I think, as here they're paired with my C'mas green wine glasses.

The centerpiece I fixed in the tray that goes well with the chargers and with my sweet cyclamen blooms I'm enjoying so much lately.

A small porcelain house with birds in the roof as a little tweak inside the cloche.

The little porcelain house has a removable roof, as it came with Candy many years ago and it was a present.

This is such a pretty large tablecloth I bought several years ago on sale for $12...I love the edge pattern with tulips.

This white ceramic bread basket with hand made flowers and gold in the edges, was also made back at our Ceramic Co.

A closer shot of the basket.

Ok, here you have it, my Summer tablescape for you. This shot is from inside the kitchen.

Thank you so much sweet friends for stopping by and always making my day!

I appreciate the wonderful parties such lovely ladies host each week.

LOVE,
FABBY
