FABBY: "Bon Mardi Gras 2015"

Hey there sweet friends!

Here to celebrate and wish you a great 'Fat Tuesday'...errr...I mean, 'Bon Mardi Gras.'

I'm sure the fabulous Creole, French Quarters in Beautiful New Orleans is celebrating the spectacular "Carnivale of Mardi Gras!"

 Carnivale!

"One commonly accepted derivation of the word "carnival" (or carnivale) is the Latin "carne vale" or "farewell to meat."
Carnival was the final hurrah as winter headed towards spring, and the long Lenten season of fasting and abstinence. It was, perhaps, not only a last chance to indulge the passions of the flesh, but an opportunity to consume any meat which had been put up for winter that might not stay fresh enough for consumption until spring brought the end of Lent and Easter."

I'm quoting this from our good and missed friend Bill from blog Affordable-Accoutrements.

My tablescape to celebrate 'Carnivale' all over the world is here and I was inspired by purples and aquas, in the way of tablecloths, glasses and dishes.

My last hurrah day is today ,Fat Tuesday, which I will be indulging with coffee, wine and lots of cheeses. All these will come to an end for Lent.

...and without further ado, here is my 'Mardi-Gras' inspired setting.

                     Let the good times roll!

I started layering this table with a purple tablecloth I gathered in the center, held by a bracelet of mine,  for more effect...and a chiffon gold square cloth I have for setting a table and for layering on top of tablecloths for more drama and elegance.

The china I used in this Mardi Gras spread is my vintage aqua 'Limoges,' mother gifted me several years ago.

The four masks in each place set belonged to my DD's when they were kids.

Burnt orange chargers are used...and masks, of course!

Amber wine glasses with Polish purple water glasses

This is my very first 'Mardi-Gras' attempt on a table setting.
When I first started blogging many of you used to do the most amazing tables for this occasion; specially our friend Bill, from 'Affordable Accoutrements,' who was a table scaper, extraordinaire. He hasn't posted in more than two years and he is very missed.

Bill was my inspiration for my blogging beginnings and for my 'first' Mardi-Gras scape.

So let the good times roll!  Happy Mardi Gras 2015

Of course, some face masks, like the feather one here.

I'm really loving the purple and amber glasses together...don't you?

I've never visited fabulous New Orleans on "MARDI-GRAS" and I would love to someday.
In the meantime, here is my tablescape in honor of this Carnival in the spectacular 'French Quarters!'

Let the good times roll!

You know I'm so happy and thankful when you leave me such sweet and kind comments, since you always make my day!

Thanking the lovely and gracious hostesses for having me at their great parties.

And big thanks to the kind and generous hostesses that feature me at their terrific parties.
