My Christmas Tablescape 2018

Hello sweet friends !

Well, this is my formal Christmas table setting for this year. I used the "magnolia" motiff china I brought back from Madrid while visiting our daughter last May. I loved it as soon as I saw it and I thought immediately of using it for a Christmas dinner because of all the green and white in the pattern.
I might add it's Portuguese made just for their famous store, "El Corte Inglés."

I used our heirloom 'French Art Nouveau' centerpiece my dear MIL left us, that was in my FIL's family always and it turned out it has gold initials of the family name, just as ours is, C.A.

We are going to celebrate Christmas, baby Jesus's birthday, along with the birth of our baby Lorenzo together with daughters Sofia and her family and Alexandra and her family, who is coming from Madrid to meet the new and only baby nephew.

I want to wish each one of you a wonderful CHRISTMAS, filled with joy and love, along with your dear ones and a very healthy, happy, prosperous and blessed 2019.

I used my lovely satin embroidered tablecloth and a plaid runner on top with the same tones, I found it for $1.99 on sale, lol..

The china used for Christmas this year is the Portuguese one I brought from Madrid last May; as it has mostly green and white Magnolias.

This beautiful heirloom French "Art Nouveau" I love, it's early last century, comes from Alejandro's father side of the family, thus it has the initials stamped A-C in the white oval in front of the bowl, just like hubby's and mine, reason why dear MIL left it to us. We were so lucky  !

Aren't the 'Magnolias' so pretty on the bone china plates !

I acquired two pretty bright gold reindeer candle holders several years ago and they add a bit of glitz to the setting.

Here you can see, sitting in the side table a 'St. Patrick's Cathedral,' as the one in NYC and that's why I love it.

The etched crystal stems are Venetian.

The little trees are Salt & Pepper shakers.

The beautiful antique French marble table separates the living room from the formal dining room and it's done up for the festivities as well.

You can see in this photo how the center table creates a foyer in between the living room and formal dining room, although we have an inside entrance to our apartment.
I also decorated the chandy above the table with small red wreaths on each candelabra.

As most of you that follow me know, by the window is our breakfast area table flanked by two buffets.

The chandy has small wreaths and candy canes in each candelabra to make it more festive.

"Merry Christmas and a happy, healthy and prosperous new year 2018.

May God, in his infinite glory, bless you and yours always."

Love,

Fabby

Presenting "Baby Carlos Alonzo"

Hello sweet friends !

Last Wednesday, December 5th., we had the blessing to receive our 'first grandson,'  after three grandgirls and one on the way.... Carlos Alonso, from our dear daughter Sofia.

This sweet angel came as our family "Christmas gift !"
Our dear daughter Sofia and baby are both well, she was natural birth, a fast and easy delivery, thank goodness.

We are very thankful to our Lord Jesus Christ for this gift of life and I wanted to share it with you my dear bloggie friends.

Here are a few pictures of that day and two days later our daughter went home with her bundle of joy.

I'm proud to present to you dear friends our new baby Carlos Alonso Patiño-Crespo.

Alonso is our first baby grandson, as we have three granddaughters and one on the way, two daughters and to top it all, the in laws are so excited too, because our SIL Giancarlo is their only son and they have four daughters with grandsons as well, but Carlos Alonso is the only grandboy, who will carry their third generation family name as well !

You can imagine our both families excitement with this baby boy !

Yours truly, the proud grandmama, lol..

Baby Carlos Alonso came to this world weighing a 'whopping' 6 1/2 pounds and 50 centimeters, lol..

I might add that he was almost 15 days early from his due date, which was around the 20th of December.

This is our den's mantel, all done up for Christmas with the four grandchildren stockings now.
Starting from your left is baby Carlos Alonso's, our new grand boy, Máxima 3, Cayetana 11 and Victoria, our eldest 14.

We need to add to the mantel a picture of the baby too !

Have a very 'MERRY CHRISTMAS' and many blessings for the 'New
 Year 2019.'

Dearest daughter Sofia leaving the hospital two days later with the family's "Christmas gift," her very own adorable 'little angel.'

We all feel very blessed, specially our Sofia, SIL Giancarlo and the big sisters Victoria and Cayetana.

Thank you so much dear friends for your kind comments in advance, you always make my day !

Thanking the lovely hostesses for having me at their great parties.

LOVE,
FABBY

November Rosary Tea & Christmas Decking.

Hello sweet friends !

Hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving with your dear families.

We just got back today from visiting our daughter Sofia, hubby and her two girls which are growing up so fast !

This table is from my monthly Rosary prayers and humble tea. I'm finished with my 'Christmas' decor, except for a Xmas tree, and that is because I haven't one, I gave it away two C'mas ago, because I needed a new one, but didn't spend the holidays at home for the last two years, nor we will this year.

This December we are expecting 'baby Alonso' (our first grandson and baby boy) from dear daughter Sofia, who will be born around the 20th. of December on.

Posting today my Holiday table setting for the Rosary of November, plus the Christmas 'mood' is at home for sure now !

"HAPPY CHRISTMAS SEASON 2018 EVERYONE !"

The first thing I love to take out is our Christmas china to use all the way to mid-January.

I also baked a "Pumpkin Cake" for the Rosary Tea.

Even if I may say so myself, this cake was really good !
"PUMPKIN CAKE WITH CREAM CHEESE FROSTING"

This cake is from blogger Maria. Here is the link to her post about it, if you would  like to make it.
https://www.twopeasandtheirpod.com/pumpkin-bundt-cake/
I also decked the buffets on the breakfast and formal dining room.
These dishes were made and hand decorated at our own ceramic factory.

To the other buffet with my white soup tureens I didn't move much, except I just added a bowl with some gold and white pine nuts and a Xmas platter, plus my gold reindeer and tall angel.

I added this year two more 'nutcrackers' to my small collection.

My new addition to my small collection of nutcrackers are the one in the toy horse and the tallest one in green.

I love my "St. Patrick's Cathedral" all lit up.
In real person it's so much prettier and you can see all the way inside to the altar !

Thank you so much for your kind comments, they always make my day !

Thanking the lovely hostesses for having me at their great parties.

Happy Christmas Holiday.
LOVE,
FABBY

My Plaid Thanksgiving Table for 2018.

Hello sweet friends !

I wanted to share my spread for our 'Thanksgiving 2018' for eight people.

I used a pretty plaid throw I had for a long time and forgot about it and the colors are perfect for my transferware dishes. Actually I bought two throws from a friend to support a 'Hospice' for old and poor people.

I hope you like it too, as hubby loved the throw idea, maybe cause it's a bit masculine because of the plaid.

The important thing is to thank God for all the graces we have received this year..... in our case for the baby grandson that will be born around the 20th. of December, so we will all go to spend Christmas at Miami where our daughter will be delivering; along with the entire family and even infant boy Lorenzo, as I hope he is born a bit before Christmas, since daughter Sofia gives birth naturally, who knows !

I wish all of you and your families a wonderful and  "Happy Thanksgiving" coming up and many blessings.

I baked this 'Walnut Carrot Cake' for my mother, who is having a Bible reading at her home with her friends.

For Thanksgiving, I like Pumpkin Pie.

I just found this tartan throw while shopping at home. I thought it would be perfect for my Thanksgiving 2018 tablescape; since I've never used a plaid throw such as this one as table topper.

I used pewter chargers, orange rim plates, blue and white transferware dinner plates and soup bowls, for 'pumpkin' cream soup.

I have six complete place settings of this 'Wedgwood-Woodland' blue and white transferware, so I added different others to complete the eight places.

I have been collecting blue and white (dinnerware only) transferware, therefore I have around 14 place settings in different patterns which I find so much more prettier and fun.

This adorable chick and roos, terracotta napkin holders were hand made at our past Ceramic Co.

The central part of the table was set with this pretty soup bowl, a made in 'Finland transferware.'

This beautiful dinner plate is 'Enoch-Wedgwood' too. "Asiatic Pheasants" is the pattern.

In this place I used 'Liberty Blue, Staffordshire.'

My beloved silver 'faul-cover' was one of my Christmas gifts from Mr. Living many years ago and it's just the perfect thing for Thanksgiving turkey celeb.

I'm so happy I found the plaid throw in the linen closet; I must've bought it around three years ago to help out an old poor people's "Hospice" home.

Actually I bought two and gave away one.

The stemware is Mexican hand blown.

Thank you dear friends for your kind comments, you always make my day !

Thanking the lovely hostesses for having me at their great parties.
