My Thanksgiving "at Heart" Table for my Family

Hello sweet friends !

Most of you know I had my two daughters and three grandgirls, who live away from us, one in the other side of the pond in Spain and the other three hours drive from us.

What I wanted to explain was that while I was shopping for Baby Shower stuff for my daughter Sofia's, I also ran across this gorgeous, inexpensive dinnerware, in an 'Autumnal-botanic' pattern I loved immediately and of course, I couldn't help but get it and take it home with me to join my dish collection, lol..

Therefore, I used it in the table settings when our girls, grands and SILs were here to sort of feel like an early, (at heart) 'Thanksgiving' because we were 'all together' for a change and it was such a blessing for Alejandro and me.

I arranged the flower centerpiece on my "Dutch-Imari," hand decorated bowl because of all the orange hues and I thought it blended beautifully with my new Fall china.

With that said...here is my 'Thanksgiving at Heart' table setting !

I never had a 'real' china for the 'Autumnal season' and we loved this ceramic one I ran into while shopping for the Baby shower.
Not expensive either... at all !
In the back it says, 'HomeLife.'

Isn't the pattern just so perfect ? I couldn't believe it when I saw it !

You see here in Ecuador, there are no four seasons as in The USA, perse, although here in the Andes mountains is coldish, sometimes like Spring and sometimes like Fall; so it was a surprise I ran into a 'real' Fall china !

It even has little acorns and a butterfly !

The centerpiece was arranged on my  beautiful "Delft-Imari, 100% Hand Decorated, Holland" (in back) bowl. I surrounded it with little pumpkins and gourds I painted, (after I dried natural ones) in white and some in gold.

I discovered the bowl had so many shades and hues for Fall and found it perfect for my family table setting and they enjoyed it too.

I could probably use it with blue dishes as well.

I'm so happy we were eight just perfect for this setting.

I used my pure Egyptian cotton linen and open hand work tablecloth hubby gifted me so many years ago. I love the contrast of the oranges in the dishes against the crispy white.

As you can see, here is my first Fall in the dining room. I need to do the other buffet in the formal dining room, as a table setting comes and goes.

It's very difficult to take pics of my plate rack, as it is behind the two doors leading to and out of the kitchen. The fridge is in front, so it makes it practically impossible to take a 'complete' front shot of it !

I decided to use the new Fall china on an everyday basis till after Thanksgiving in November.

I could pair it sometimes with my orange rim dinner plates, as you see here.

Thank you ladies so much for your kind comments, as you always make my day !

Thanking the lovely hostesses for having me at their great parties.

LOVE,
FABBY

  7. Fabby, you're right, the china was the perfect choice for fall. And what better way to use it than for a Thanksgiving celebration, which, after all, is all about gratitude, family and remembering your blessings.

  10. Dearest Fabby,
Such a happy color and great design for your new fall china.
It will always remind you of the happy days that indeed you were all together as a family.
Having loved ones across two oceans, I certainly understand your happiness about this.
You have the very best ideas, always, about setting a special and perfectly themed table.
    This one was no exception.
    Sending you hugs,

  11. Hi Fabby,
such a very lovely table setting. The new dishes are so vibrant and wonderful. What a blessing to have your family all with you together for awhile. I bet Maxima will be excited to have a new baby sibling and your older granddaughters will spoil the new baby coming in their family too. As will the grandparents too of course. ;) Have a joyful week and God bless!!

  13. Hi Fabby! I love when we can get our family all together... Doesn't happen often here, either, but I am off to visit my son and DIL soon in South Dakota, so it'll be nice to be with them for a few days. Pinned to my At Table board for you! <3 Just stopping by to say Thank You for joining Share Your Style.

    Have a great weekend,
    Hugs,
    Barb :)
