FABBY: Blue and White for Winter in January

Hello sweet friends!

My week has been so very busy, hosting Three Kings Day tea party and today I had a luncheon with my dearest cousins, mother, Alejandro and me.

My cousin Silvana lives in Tampa, Flo. and is here visiting us. She is from NY originally like me, so we grew up together with another lovely cousin back in Tampa.

Such fond memories from my aunt, uncle and our childhood. We had a great time reminiscing wonderful bygone days.

I did a luncheon with my cousin, who is from here, such a lovely girl... mother and Alejandro and of course, my special guest from Tampa.

Even though my C'mas décor it's still at present, because I haven't had a minute this week to put anything away, except for cooking and baking nonstop. I created a 'Winter- January' setting with my blue and white Onion dishes for my cousins' luncheon.

With that said; here is my 'January-Winter 2015' tablescape for a luncheon.

I always love the crispness of white linens with a blue and white china... as it does remind me of Winter time.

I used this pretty white organza cut work tablecloth on top of a blue and white one... not a very elaborate table for this luncheon.

The blue and white Onion pattern dishes are ever so pretty and such a classic.
They are from many different places in Europe as: Germany, the Czech-Republic, as mine are, although I have some pieces to go with this china that are 'Hutschenreuther.'
There are made in English and Holland as well.
No matter where they come from, I love them!

Here we are: me at your left end, my dearest cousin Silvana from Tampa, originally from NY like me. My cousin Polianna, the redhead, who lives here, but in Guayaquil-Ecuador; where my DD Sofia and my grandgirls live....and sitting is my dear sweet mother.
Alejandro is taking the shots, as usual he hates to show up in the pics, lol!

Here you can appreciate the two table toppers been used in this Winter tablescape. (look at my mom's half body in the back, hehe)

Thank you so much dear friends for your sweet and kind visits, you so make my day!

Thanking the wonderful hostesses for having me at their great parties.
I specially would like to thank and so show my appreciation to the generous hostesses who feature me at their lovely parties.

LOVE,
FABBY

FABBY: Tea Table for "Three Kings Day 2015"

Hello sweet friends!

Ok, we are starting the first complete week of January and tomorrow is "Three Kings Day Epiphany"  and the Spaniards celebrate their Christmas and children receive gifts and grown ups have dinner...and of course exchange gifts as well; like our C'mas Eve and tomorrow it's like C'mas Day for them as some other countries, like Cuba.

Therefore, I am celebrating too with a tea party I'm having for my friends but actually some are my mother's school friends, that are so sweet and wonderful.

Always wishing you have a wonderful new year 2015, my friends.

I will not have time tomorrow, I'm always so busy to take pics, but here is my table with just the cake. Hope I can add some more food photos tomorrow, which is "Three Kings Day Epiphany."

Ok here it is, my house is still with the Christmas décor for "THREE KINGS DAY 2015" celebration.

Some of you have probably seen this pretty satin embroidered tablecloth every C'mas since I'm blogging three years and more.
I bought it several years ago.

The centerpiece has two bird nests, one big and one small.
Therefore, I placed Baby Jesus in the bigger nest with the Three Kings surrounding it.

The Citrus, Coconut and Cranberriy Cake, decorated with orange icing, some coconut flakes and cherries.

The tablecloth is cream color, so I used my cream reticulated dinner plates as chargers in order to blend the C'mas dishes that are very white.

If you wish the recipe for the cake you can go here:

http://fabbysliving.blogspot.com/2014/12/fabby-tea-time-and-cake.html

The teaset you see been used for this tea party was made and hand decorated back at our former Ceramic Co.

Mother told me that when she was a child the custom in Latin American countries were that Christmas, gift giving and celebrating was like in Spain; the 6th. of January, "Three Kings Day."

She also explained that she never knew how or when it became to be C'mas Eve and C'mas Day as we know it now; because she was still a young a girl in the late 30's when the change happened.

Vintage Italian glasses and water pitcher from our former factory.

I came back to add some more food photos to my Kings table...that is besides the cake.

Martha Stewart's C'mas cookies, which are really deli. The cocottes, at your left,  in the little bowls are spinach soufflés as antrees.

Fudge Brownies, white Divinity Candy and Ham, Brie with Honey-mustard sandwiches all the way in the back and of course the C'mas cake shown in other photos here.

I finally could add some food cause they wanted me to take pics of my lovely table, but my guests didn't want to appear on the pics; they're not like my grand-girls, lol!

Thank you so much sweet friends for your kind and lovely comments, as you always make my day.

Thanking the gracious hostesses for having me at their great parties.

A special thanks to the hostesses that have honored me by featuring my post at their great parties... and what a great start!

FABBY: Black, White and Silver New Year's Eve Table for 2015

Hello sweet friends!

My goodness, we are here saying goodbye to 2014 as fast as it came, wow!

This tablescape is dedicated to this New Year's Eve, that will be this Wednesday, therefore I placed a "Rooster kiquiriqui" to remind us when 12 pm arrives and we can start celebrating the new year, 2015.

"I want to THANK YOU ALL my sweet, sweet friends for all your visits and support and really, I cannot THANK YOU enough! "

Your generosity is what keeps me inspired and wanting to continue blogging, because you're all so wonderful, with so much goodness, which makes me feel that I want to know about you, your families, your new grandchildren, great-grand ones, your own new borns and all the prayers we send to each other in times of need and I miss you when you go away for a while.

We share a lot and it's not only the amazing posts you create, but you, yes you, are all my wonderful and awesome friends I'd never want to miss not knowing about, so you will have me forever blogging,  unless you all decide to disappear from your computers, lol!

I want to wish each and everyone of you dearest friends lots of happiness, love, good health and prosperity for you and your dear families.

This table setting is dedicated to you all.

                                ¡ HAPPY NEW YEAR 2015!

¡FELIZ AÑO NUEVO!

For my New Year's Eve Table setting and my last tablescape this year, I used two pattern dishes in black and white, paired with lots of silver, as last year's my NYEve table was gold and white.

The centerpiece was done in a black crystal urn, standing on a silver tray with white pinecones.
The adorable shell rooster is here to 'kiquiriqui us' when 12pm arrives to begin the celebration of the
New Year 2015.
The rooster is 'no custom' of any kind here, I copied this idea from ''Pinterest for a New Year's Eve tablescape.'

The tablecloth is also a satin silver brocade that over three years ago I repurposed it from my old dining room draperies.

My beloved pewter, first ever chargers and one black and white set of dishes, since I mixed and matched two sets of four, for this table..

This is the other place set in a black and white pattern as well. Both sets are from 'Multiple Choice.'

I know it's hardly visible, but the silver balls on the soup bowls have each our names written on them.

Champagne, water and wine Venetian, hand etched stems.

The flatware is 'Reed and Barton' and the four candle sticks are mercury glass...along with the votives, where the candle light 'looks blue' in the pics and I have NO clue why, lol!

Red roses and fragrant Jasmine from our condo's garden.

Look how  pretty the big pleats the seamstress finished the end of the tablecloth from my old dining room curtains I 'repurposed' back in 2011.

"I thanked you my sweet friends at the beginning of this post.
I hope you got as chance to read it."

Now I must also thank so much to the wonderful and gracious hostesses with their great parties that have had me sharing my posts every single week for another year that's almost over, 2014.

I am looking forward to joining the fun again every week of 2015.

FABBY: Tea Time and Cake Recipe

Hello sweet friends !

I baked and baked for presents and I this cake you see here is one of the goodies I gave away to my friends, but also I kept one for us, my DD Alex, Alejandro, mother and me.

I fixed a small table for this occasion.

I hope you like it.

Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas, we did, although we had some not happy news as our DD Sofia miscarried just C'mas Eve, as she was one month pregnant. She's doing fine and is healthy, so we are happy for this reason and have so much to thank our Lord.

I used this check tablecloth red with green.

I did three cakes like this one for gifts and at the end it's the recipe. It's delicious and I got it from Pinterest.

I displayed it under a glass cloche.

Thank you wonderful friends for your sweet and kind comments, you always make my day.

Thanking the lovely hostesses for having me at their great parties.

A special thanks to the generous and supportive hostesses for featuring me at their wonderful parties.

Kathy for A RETURN TO LOVELINESS

Merry Christmas and a very happy, prosperous, and healthy new year 2015.

LOVE,
FABBY

Glaze

  • 2 cups confectioner sugar
  • 3-4 tablespoons fresh orange juice

Garnishing (optional)

  • Sugared Cranberries (recipe here)

Directions:

Preparation

Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Lightly butter and flour pan

  3. Using an electric mixer or a food processor beat the sugar, eggs, and zest in a large bowl until pale and fluffy. Keep the mixer or food processor running and gradually add in oil and beat for about two minutes. Hello sweet friends!

From the Crespo family to each everyone of you and your dear families, we wish you a very merry Christmas.

"Please pray for my DD Sofia who is pregnant but is bleeding a little, so she doesn't lose the baby. Thank you so much."
We just found out that our DD Sofie lost the baby. She's doing fine... and right now that is the most important thing. Thank you Lord.

May our Baby Jesus bring you all of you much blessings today and always, because HE is coming tonight.

Love always.

MERRY CHRISTMAS

FELIZ NAVIDAD

Daughter Alexandra sends you her best Christmas wishes.

Grand Victoria sends her Christmas wishes.

Sil Giancarlo sends lots of greeting too.
(doesn't he look like Clark Kent, Superman?...people in Flo. thought so, lol)
Daughter Sofia and Cayetana sends you their Christmas wishes and hugs.

Grands Victoria, Cayetana and DD Sofia Crespo-Patino, sends their best wishes too.

Ok, here we went to a family parade we had with the members of the family and some of us were in custom from Biblical times, as me, and others like the Indigenous people of Ecuador... and hubby is a South American Landowner, cause it was easy as he didn't really want to go in a typical custom, lol..

LOVE YOU ALWAYS and have a wonderful Christmas 2014, my friends.

FELIZ NAVIDAD 2014!
