FABBY: Red, White and Blue Explotion!

For "Shadow Shot Sunday".....my Red, White and Blue floating stars. Happy 4th. of July 2012!!
Hi my darlings!

I dedicate this tablescape to honor our great country the USA on her birthday!

I used my onion blue and white dishes, along with red and white plates and my flags, to create an explotion of the Reds, Whites and Blues! Hope you like it.

There are a lot of American repats here in Ecuador, specially in Cuenca, the city where we reside and so there's lots going on in the following days and evenings from now on.., like restaurats that care for American food to honor the 4th. and so on.. We usually go out for dinner with our friend Stephanie from NJ and her hubby Julio, Alejandro's friend and sometimes others American friends join the group too, so we do celebrate and have fun as well.

Thank you for coming for a peek at my patriotic tablescape for the 4th. of July 2012. Your visits always make my heart sing.

The table is set for six. I used my old flag as the only linen for this tablescape...BUT, of course, it's ONLY FOR PRETEND!! I would NEVER use the American flag as tabletopper for real, though.
My red chargers, my blue and white onion dishes, white small plates and blue sherbets.
The floating star candles. The pretty flag napkins are paper in this case.

Another place set with red plates underneath the blue sherbet.

My USA candles I bought last year and I placed them in this piece of dark wood with a little red heart as decoration.
My daughter Sofia brought from Miami this all american outfit for Victoria to wear on her birthday this weekend. My two daughters are American citizens and soon my granddaughters will be as well.
Don't you just love Victoria in the great flag blouse? She has a star necklease too.

I also did a coffee station in my antique, made in the USA nesting tables that were my Mil's with another flag I have, plus a beautiful bow I keep on the inside of my bedroom door all year round.

I love this flag bow with tassels I have so long.

At the left hand side there's a pretty scalloped pedestal with blue glass my mother gave me several years ago as a C'mas gift.
 I love the USA candles!
Ther floating stars..
Hutschenreuther blue and white, cute butter dishes.
The blue glass sherbets were a $1,12 a couple of years ago...I have 8 for ice cream, or fruit salad with yougur, or whatever,..even "shrimp ceviche"!
At the right hand is an antique English crystal pitcher with blue color crystal dimonds.
Some fresh roses for the centerpiece with the flags.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY USA AND GOD BLESS YOU!!!

Thank you to all the lovely and gracious hostesses for making me feel so welcomed to your wonderful and fun parties.

LOVE,
FABBY

FABBY: Tea with Mother's Friends

Hi my darlings!
Some of you who have followed me on my last table, I  explained that I will be hosting mother's school friends annual tea party, which they have every last Friday of each month, but I made it the Friday before, since I am going again to my daughter Sofia's house for Victoria's eighth birthday. My mother makes it every year in her own home, but lately she's having problems with her oven, so I made it for her at home, and I had 14 ladies in their 80's and I took some pics of some of them, along with the table with the cake I made, as I didn't want to bother them with more photos...besides, I was sooo busy serving! Never the less, there are some pictures anyway. Hope you like it!

 Some lovely ladies.

Mother with the blue blouse flanked by her first cousin with the camel coat and a friend.
Another group of sweet ladies. Not all of them were here yet, as soon as all 14 were here I got VERY BUSY!!!
The table was set with my complete Bavaria-Germany tea set with cake plates, teacups and saucers, 2 small platters,  and the porcelain tray with the teapot, sugar bowl and creamer.
This is a fabulous Walnut Cake my Mil used to make all the time as it was her mother's special recipe.
This beautiful tablecloth was my Mil's and it's hand crocheted. A peak of the teacup with pedestal and saucer.
I love this tea set for the fact that it's complete when I have big teas like this one. I fixed the breakfast round table too, I just didn't take photos of it...too busy, lol!
The white flower pot with pink ceramic hand made flowers, was made at our former Ceramic Co.I thought it would make a pretty flower vase for the centerpiece.
I shot this table before the ladies were here, in the morning, so I don't have the cookies and small sandwiches on it yet. The oval platter is from my Mil's antique dishes and it's were I served the small egg-salad sandwiches and in the other side there was another like it with the chicken-salad ones.
This platter with the cookies and scones from the day before's post I shared.  I hope you liked the little you saw of my tea party for mother's friends. Thank you in advance for your wonderful, kind and sweet comments you always leave me, I appreciate them very much. Thank you so much to you lovely and gracious hostesses for hosting your fabulous parties every week and specially for making me feel welcomed!!

FABBY:Tea in the Living Room

   Hi my darlings!
I made a small table for Alejandro and me in our living room's marble coffee table, I once posted last year about how I had it made, copying it from an Architectural Digest issue where French writer Francoise Sagan's apartment in the Paris left bank.. had this coffee table. So I decided we should have some tea with English scones, Granola cookies and Fudge brownies I just made, as I will be hosting mother's fifteen school friends' annual tea on my house this Friday coming. Hope you like it.

The tea set is an Oriental antique from WWI era, that came from an antique English shop. It is paper thin bone china you can see thru the teacups...it's hubby's favorite so I served him in it. It has eight teacups, plates and the tea set.
At left, the tea chest with a big variety of teas...I love teas and there are great ones around here and of course, the English ones as well.

The living room's coffee table ready for tea. The opened silver lid of the tea chest.

The family room in the background.
English Scones, recipe from my Better Homes and Gardens, new baking book. Fudge brownies and Granola cookies. I will continue the cooking tomorrow, lol..
The marble coffee table I copied and had a replica made from an Architectural Digest 1992 issue, where French writer, Francoise Sagan had the original and I fell in love with it, and this is around 20 years ago..time flies but I still love her every time I see her and I always get so many compliments when people see it.
Our marble coffee table in full view. The carpet is 100% wool pile, hand made Chinese Mandarin aubussom.
The tea set has dragon handles in the big teapot, (in the background), a small one up front, along with the sugar bowl. The lids have a "pagoda" shape to them as well.
I love my two Oriental Chippendale chairs in our living room.

The place set has a beautiful design if you like Oriental motifs as I do.

Another angle of our house you haven't seen. The entrance door at your deep right and as you come inside, you will go into the foyer which divides the living room and the formal dining room.
SO WELCOME TO MY HOME!

I will make a post of the tea for my mother's fifteen school friends on Friday. The menu will be: as an entree, I will serve Eggplant Parmigiana, in the living room. Than they will be served in the dining tables, my hubby's grandma's Walnut Cake with ice-cream, the cookies you saw in this post and strawberry thumbnail cookies, which I'll make tomorrow...small chicken and egg salad sandwiches. Flavour teas, or regular English tea, they will have a choice from my tea chest.

Thank you my sweet and generous friends for your always appreciated visits and comments as you do make my day.. and week!!

I also want to thank the wonderful and gracious hostesses that always make me feel so very welcomed at their fun and great parties, as most of you are such kind ladies you always acknowledge my joining your Link's which make me feel invited, which I look forward to do so!!

Love,
FABBY

FABBY: Father's Day Table with Doggies

We came back two days ago from staying with our granddaughters for almost a month, as our Sil had to have an intervention in his spine and, of course, along with daughter Sofia had to make the trip to the Miami Spine Center. Thank God, our Lord,  and the many prayers from the family, friends and all of you dearest blog friends.. for which I'm forever grateful. His operation was a total success and the entire family is elated!!
I'm sorry too that I have taken so long in answering your wonderful, kind and generous comments and good wishes..but now that I'm back home, I will make it up!!

                                                  HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!

 Spanish tablecloth.
Vintage dogs from my Doggies collection. Italian Bormiolli Rocco stemware.
More doggies. The candle sticks are Bohemian crystal. At your left, (you can hardly see), but there is Alejandro's sterling napkin ring, with his initials monogrammed as my in laws had one for each of them, the seven kids and the two of them. We have his parents and of course, hubby's.
These two dogs are German..I think it says Godoel-W. Germany. I have porcelain, bronze, new and vintage dog collection, maybe around 23, so far.
Turkish, hand painted in gold crystal chargers.
The place setting with the soup bowl and dinner plate. The small, sterling cup and saucer is a baby set from Alejandro when he was small and it's monogrammed with his initials too.
The salad plate with the teacup and saucer with gold edging and black stitches. The black pieces have gold stitching like, can make it up clearly in the photos, but it shadows a little.
I love to use this glass lacy-susan for teas with sweets, or for many other uses, like now with the doggies and silver things that were hubby's. We keep it in this breakfast table with the everyday things, along with medicine and vitamins..lol

Yellow roses for sweet and loving Alejandro, the father of my two precious and beautiful daughters.

My Mil's English buffet in the back drop.
Here is the antique Belgium buffet in the background.
A shot from the foyer...the tablescape in the background on our breakfast table.
The buffet all set with champagne and Italian Bormiolli Rocco flutes to cheer with the fathers.
I love this organza table topper, with Richelieu, machine made cut work and  scalloped edges.
Our daughter Sofia cannot make the trip with her husband and our daughter Alexandra is going to Europe on Monday.. so we won't have children for Father's Day 2012...therefore, I made a table for four, a couple of good friends, Alejandro and me. Hope you like it.
My dearest father, whom I was so close to and the apple of his eyes. I lost him by a heart attack to the myocardium in 1996. I miss you every day daddy!
Have a happy Father's Day my friends, along with your families, hubbies and fathers, if you are so lucky to still have them. I lost daddy in 1996 and I still miss him so much, there's always so much I want to tell hm and share with him..oh well, that's life.

Thanking you all so much in advance wonderful friends for all your generous comments when you visit my house...they always make my day!!
Thank you lovely and gracious hostesses for the fun and great parties I will be joining with my FD's 2012 tablescape.
