Fall Mantel and Living Room

Hello sweet friends!

I dedicated this day to decorate the living room's coffee table for Fall and the mantel, which will stay like this until we go to Miami for the birth of our granddaughter, 'Maxima Leonor,' from our dearest daughter Alexandra.

I also decorated the fireplace mantel, which will also stay like this for the Fall season; except for the coffee table in the family room where I placed a little setting for mother, hubby and me for tomorrow Wednesday.

I have mentioned many times that mother comes to spend every Wednesday with us. Therefore, here we will have a very yummy and very 'low-cal banana cake' I made for our afternoon tea time.
The recipe is at the end of this post too.

Ok, here it is. The last place I will share next week will be the 'Fall kitchen.'

                                             HAPPY AUTUMN 2015

Fall in the fireplace mantel 2015

In each end I placed my big cloches. This one has gold gourds I sprayed painted last year...and vintage books from my Mil.

This tea setting looks kind of familiar but hey, this is where we land in the afternoon for tea time and I know mother will want to watch 'Pope Francis in the USA,' as the TV is directly in front of the yellow couch.

I also baked a 'very low calorie' banana cake for tea time.

Recipe is at the end of this post. Trust me, it's great if you watch your weight.

Dutch Delft hand painted blue and white flower vases with gold gourds, and cloche with white pumpkins, I painted after they dry up.

I also spray painted the gold ones last year.

Cloche with gold gourds and vintage books.

Vintage cook books from my Mil.

This beautiful oil painting was done by hubby's famous Ecuadorian artist, named Luis Crespo O.
I liked the Fall look to it with the basket and yellow calla-lilies, so I borrowed it from another wall...lol

"Banana Cake, 8 week Friendly"

The recipe is at the end of this post, if you wish.

Is very 'low in calories,' with no-fat at all and no sugar, instead honey is used, plus apple sauce. It's delish and moist too. We love it!

The china I'm using for tea time afternoon is the classic Onion pattern and 'Hutschenreuther' pieces.
The teapot is 'Bareuther Indischblau, Bavaria I bought separately, as the set is complete for eight place settings, but didn't have a teapot and was on sale because it had broken in the store.

The fruit basket in the middle contains fresh little pumpkins and gourds.

I save the ones that dry up from the year before and spray paint them in white or gold...so far.

Faux silk flowers for a change. I mostly love fresh flowers.

My new find is this inexpensive metal, pierced tray that looks vintage, so I styled it for Fall right in the living room's coffee table.

All the dark bronze pieces are antique French.

Mercury glass pumpkin, little silver pumpkin, Bohemian candle holder and vintage Meissen porcelain bowl.

The coffee table is marble Travertino.

I wish you all a very blessed and happy Fall season.

Thanks for your sweet and kind comments, you always make my day!

Thanking the lovelie hostesses for having me at their great parties.

LOVE,
FABBY

Banana Cake, 8 Week Friendly

FABBY: My Fall Breakfast Room

Hello sweet friends!

I started a little Fall right in our breakfast room, specially cause this part of the house is where we spend so much time during the day, along with the kitchen and our bedroom.

I usually pass by these three rooms, back and forth all day long and so I like to see the buffets and the round table in the breakfast area, sort of different most of the time and at present it's got a Fall mood.

I also fixed the breakfast table for a Monday's lunch for four with my Oriental vintage bone china dishes and I will start by serving Cream of Pumpkin soup.

I will of course, be changing around the vignettes with my tool box and dough bowl until I get to the Christmas  season.

Meanwhile let's enjoy a little Fall with some orange and a few little gourds.

Welcome Fall 2015 my dear friends.

I hope some of you are having cooler weather at your neck of the woods.

I did some moving around here at my antique Belgium buffet; using ducks, mercury glass and silver pumpkins... and in center stage my beautiful Shannon crystal stand, I bought a couple of months ago... some of you might remember.

While shopping for containers for my pantry last month I ran into this cute wire fruit basket, now as a Fall arranged centerpiece for my table.

My daughter Alex brought me from Miami a box of three cute white owl votives.

In the frame it says "Welcome Fall, The Season of giving Thanks."

Orange Portuguese glass candle holders and a setting for tea time.

I have set Thanksgiving tables over the years with this vintage Oriental dishes with orange flowers and butterflies; paired with orange rimmed plates.

Some more cute white owls here from my daughter Alex.

Love the pretty mercury glass pumpkin my sweet daughter Alex just gifted me from Miami.

These Oriental vintage dishes are so light, because is 'bone china'... with such a translucent porcelain and it's lovely how you can see through the teacups, specially.

I bought this china from a lady very many years ago and it's a full set for eight place settings.

The sterling antique heirloom bowls are holding white pinecones I painted two years ago. One on each side of the buffet.
Ready for a Monday Fall luncheon,
starting with a 'Cream of Pumpkin soup' we love.
Metal soft yellow sunflower napkin holders and small dessert bowls too.

At your left on the floor lots of leaves from my indoor plants I forgot to pick up, so now we can say there's also 'fallen' leaves indoors, lol..

Thank you so much for your sweet and kind comments, you always make my day!

Thanking the lovely hostesses for having me at their great parties.

LOVE,
FABBY

FABBY: Happy Labor Day 2015

Hello sweet friends!

I just got back today from our three hour drive to visit our two dear DDs Alexandra and Sofia and the two darlings, along with our baby Maxima in the oven, lol!

We also went to the family Doctor and he sent her to do a 3 dimension echography and Maxima baby was gorgeous! (ok, I'm the grammy, I can say that!)

Coming home I made a small table for Labor Day, as I adore the red, white and blue and I am very patriotic.
Mother will come over and maybe someone else and we will be four, so I'm planning a Labor Day table.

I used my red and white check cloth, a small flag and as centerpiece my white wicker basket from Christmas with my patriotic bow I love and keep in my bedroom door all year round!

Hope you are all enjoying this long Labor Day weekend in the United States.

In center stage is my adorable patriotic bow I keep in my bedroom door all year round. It's on my white wicker C'mas basket.

My daughter Alex just brought me from Miami this mercury glass pumpkin.
I will serve lunch tomorrow on my 'Liberty Blue' dinner plates, red salad plates and blue sherbets for dessert.

Mother is coming for lunch tomorrow so I can tell her all the news, so I will set the table with all these dishes.

Silver pumpkins for the little touch of Fall.

Time to start taking out the pumpkins, no matter what color like this cute silver one, that opens up in half to store candy inside.

Happy Labor Day 2015

Alexandra and Sofia, my pride and joy...and of course, little Cayetana too!

Thank you for your sweet and kind comments, you always make my day!

Thanking the lovely hostesses for having me at their great parties.

A special thanks to dear Beverly for the honor of featuring me at the fabulous PINK SATURDAY.

FABBY: August Tea for the Rosary Prayers

Hello sweet friends!

I host in my house every month, the last Wednesday of each month a Rosary prayer with some friends.

I did pray for the friends that requested and I'm here to do so, always.

I used my very colorful, pottery dishes made back at my hubby's Ceramic factory he owned for thirty years and he sold it almost seven years ago. The tablecloth used was the one I hand embroidered in orange Fall leaves, some fifteen years ago .

This pottery has lots of oranges, yellows, browns and blues among other colors. It's my favorite china come Thanksgiving because of the warm colors and it looks good with pumpkins. I haven't used pumpkins here yet, but it's sort of a transition to Autumn tea table.

Ok, with that said, here it is.

This pottery set was made and decorated at our former Ceramic Co. Monte Turi. I have 350 pieces of it. Here is the link of the post I did a couple of years ago, in case you'd like to see them all:
http://fabbysliving.blogspot.com/2013/01/fabby-350-pieces-of-my-pottery.html

I used to design the decorations inspired in the Indigenous people of Ecuador's embroidered clothing. We had 15 designs that were made completely by hand by artists we had working for us.

I hand embroidered this tablecloth in orange Autumn leaves, just for this set of dishes.

I always associated this pottery design with Fall because of the oranges, yellows, browns, greens and blues.

The embroidery in all four corners of the table linen is like this.

And the embroidery in the center of the tablecloth I purposely did it like this, in order to frame any centerpiece I would make.

A little half a papaya on the finial of the jam bowl; at your left.

Sheep, duck and fruits in the finials. The original Spanish designs had animals and fruit in the top of the lids of every piece.

A close up of some of the pieces specially for tea time.
A little chicken, a half papaya and a cow on the lidded pieces.
Oh, I almost forgot to share this pic of my dearest daughter Alexandra in Mallorca-Spain expecting a little girl at seven months right now, who will be call 'Maxima.'
We can't wait to see her as they are coming with Sergio tonight at 12pm at Guayaquil-International Airport.

We will go this Wednesday coming to dear daughter Sofia's house to meet them. She can't fly to Cuenca, where we live cause of the high altitude Andean city.

Thank you for your sweet and kind comments, you always make my day.

Thanking the lovely hostesses for having me at their great parties.

A special thanks to the wonderful and supportive sweet Beverly, that featured me last week at the great,
