Celebrating America the Beautiful

Hello sweet friends!

While getting my patriotic post up, finally ! I've been thinking of so many awful things that have happened to our dear country, the United States of America, lately. Between floods, fires and terrorists attacks on American soil that killed innocent Americans, I don't know..

The latest Orlando shooting by people that load America with all their might, even if they are born in the same soil.
So many other shootings I don't care to enumerate anymore.

How you can't put up flags or any patriotic symbol of the great USA because someone doesn't like it, as it offends others, RIGHT IN THE SAME COUNTRY for heaven sake, as there are even some Politians, I notice, that care less about what Americans feel and only worry not to hurt the BAD guys !

I hardly recognize the country I grew up in with so many values, specially Judeo-Christian principles and yet we knew there were other religions too and we all respected them; while in school we placed our little hands in our chests to recite the "Pledge of Alliance to the United States."

I never, ever encountered any prejudice in my country. Only wonderful Americans with faults just like everyone else.

I hope you can all celebrate America this coming 4th. of July with all the love, respect and pride you can have for your country.

That's all I want to say, except maybe I am very, very sad and pray the next president of the USA respect this great country and keep it, along with the people of America, safe.

Here is my humble table to celebrate another birthday of America the Beautiful and  I say humble, cause the USA deserves so much more in my book !
I'm sorry for what I've just said, I am very sensitive about the United States lately and I can't help it.

Just don't comment anything hurtful if you don't agree. You can make me see otherwise, if I'm wrong, that's ok.

Thank you and GOD BLESS AMERICA the Beautiful.

I did my 4th. of July setting right here in the kitchen, the heart of our home, where we spend most of our time with family and friends.

Love our old farm table from our own previous 'farm house.'

I started with a white cotton placemat, a red charger, a white dinner plate, a red salad plate, blue and white 'Liberty Blue' transferware plate and ended with my star plates and a red teacup in each of the four places.

Some red white and blue flower pots and flags in a basket.

The complete stack of plates.
I have the Liberty Blue, Ironstone plates complete for eight, with soup plates, salad and dinner plates.

For napkins I used dish towels in red stripes and blue checks.

Thank you so much dear friends for your kind comments, you always make my day !

Thanking the lovely hostesses for having me at their great parties.

"HAPPY 4TH. OF JULY. GOD BLESS AMERICA"

FABBY

Cow-Dishes For a Lunch Table

Hello sweet friends!

I hope you all had a wonderful Father's Day weekend.

My first granddaughter Victoria was 12 years old the same day as Father's Day.

She lives three hours from us, so we are going to visit her this week until next Monday and I'm telling you this because I was at our local grocery store and I found this cute mason jar mugs with a lid and a straw, so I decided to buy one  for each of the girls' milk.

One thing led to another and I just loved them so much, therefore, I went and got four Mason jar mugs, plus a milk bottle to match I found later... really cute for a kitchen vignette, or décor.

Mother came for lunch today, so again I set the farm table in the kitchen and used the cow things, starting with my cow tablecloth, cute cow napkin rings and finally a cow thermos where I keep coffee all ready to serve for after lunch, this way I don't have to get up for everything.

That being said... here is my little cute cow setting.

Aren't these cow dishes darling?

Look at the mason jar mug, is this just too cute !

The milk bottle is adorable too, so is just perfect for the girls and their breakfast milk.

The little cow napkin rings were a gift from a friend of mine several years...and I've never used them.

I paired the black salad plates with yellow dinner plates for a contrast on top of the cow table topper.

The cow that's in the back, by the sink was made at our former factory by a famous artist which created a 'zebra-cow.'

It's raining so the river view is wonderful.

I'm keeping this vignette here on a regular basis... until I get bore, that is.

Victoria is now 12 years old on Father's Day. Cayetana is 9. We're going to visit them Wednesday.

Thank you dear friends for your sweet comments, you always make my day !

Thanking the lovely hostesses for having me at their great parties.

LOVE,
FABBY

Sunflowers for a Father's Day Summer Table

Hello sweet friends!

I started to rearrange the English buffet cause it looked kind of wintery or something, therefore, I thought for a different setting for 'FATHER'S DAY' with a more Summery look to it and I came up with a 'Sunflower Theme,' using my sunflower salad plates as a focal point.

I don't do much seasonal changing, except for some décor here and there, but not as some gorgeous homes I see around blogland, totally decorated for Summer !

With that said; this 'Father's Day' setting is formed with my sunflowers salad plates, paired with green rimmed everyday dinner plates and white chargers on our bare wood, vintage French table.

I also used sunflower napkin rings and napkins, along with natural 'sunflowers' for the centerpiece.

Wishing you all an amazing FATHER'S DAY and a fun SUMMER SEASON 2016.

The tablescape for Summer and Father's Day 2016 is spread here at our breakfast table.

A very simple Father's Day or Summer table setting for a simple lunch or dinner.

I elevated the centerpiece on a white medium cake pedestal.

I freshen up the English buffet with some transferware in blue and red.

It could remain here until I do all my patriotic table setting in July; with red and white flowers, perhaps.

In this photo you see a doily, yes, I had to add it because it was sliding a bit and I was afraid it'll fall with all the plates, lol..

The sideboard vignette for this Summer.

This buffet is a larger one, where I keep my silver and sterling things, but now it's displaying some blue and white and maybe I will add some red dishes here too; as it will be staying until July, for the 'patriotic month.'

These are natural sunflowers and they're great and big and with a very dark center, just like the plates !

Sunflower napkin ring holding a sunflower napkin too, except it's pink, but I liked it together just the same.

Hubby loves big napkins and these are huge!

I like to see my transferware dishes on the sideboard on a daily basis on top of this plate holder, it makes me happy.

Our breakfast table flanked by the two antique buffets.

Thank you dear friends for your wonderful comments, you always make my day !

Thanking the lovely hostesses for having me at their great parties.

LOVE,
FABBY

May Rosary Tea

Hello sweet friends!

I haven't had much time to post lately, it's been a whirlwind of a time so far for me, but just the same here I am a little late with my 'May Rosary' table setting post.

The food is very humble in this case, just bread, home made jams and cheese; of course tea or coffee; because the main purpose is to pray for our families and friends, for the war torn countries in the world and of course, our own countries and the sick in the family and friends, so our Lord Jesus Christ can bless us and cure us with His infinite goodness.

I am sharing a few pics I took, specially cause I used my 'hand made' and hand decorated pottery, designed by us back at our own ceramic factory, Monte Turi.

I've explained many times before, but the inspiration for the decorations of each and every set was based on the indigenous people of Ecuador's apparel, which is all hand

embroidered, specially the women's clothing, blouses and skirts and some of the men's shirts.

I used the soup tureen with eight handles as a centerpiece flower vase.

The two bowls with fruits in the lid are for the jams

The salad plate and teacup; of course, this one is a complete set for 18 place settings and many, many serving pieces.

There are 350 pieces to this set I once posted them all!

Everything is 'hand decorated' by artists we hired and hand made... by this I mean, by talented professional who were experts using a 'potters-wheel,' yes, a 'potters-wheel,' by hand, which means NOT using molds.

Most of the forms of the pieces were taught by the Spanish over 100 years ago and they all had a sheep, a cow, a duck, different animals in the lids

I placed my yellow 'silk moire' tablecloth I recicled from the living room curtains after I replaced them with Hunter Douglas shades, a few years ago.

Thank you for your sweet comments dear friends, you always make my day!

Thanking the lovely hostesses for having me at their great parties.

LOVE,
FABBY
