FABBY: Mother's 84th. Birthday

Hello sweet friends!

Now my wishes are that you all had a lovely, happy and specially peaceful Christmas 2013 and at the same token it's sad to see it go and looking forward for all the good things the new year will bring all of us... you, me, the world and everyone in it!
May you all be very blessed in the new year that's knocking at our doors.

Today, December 27th. is my sweet and dearest mother's birthday and was also her mother's, my grand, whom I loved so much and for whom I was her first grandchild and I was so special to her. Anyway, mother came to have lunch with my daughter Alexandra, Alejandro and me and I did a lovely table for her birthday with her beautiful tablecloth, she gifted me for a big birthday.

Here it is..

I was too busy to take photos today, so this one is at mother's house at her Chrismas Eve luncheon.

Here I am with my dear mother who's 84th. birthday is today, along with Alejandro and my niece Carla.

A very simple table still with the holiday spirit.

The water glasses are hand etched from Venice, as are the wine glasses.

The last of the Christmas cookies.

The cookie platter, pitcher and centerpiece bowl were made at our former ceramic co.

Thank you so much for all the lovely wishes I know your precious hearts will send mother, lol!

Thanking the wonderful hostesses for their great parties.

LOVE,
FABBY

FABBY: Merry Christmas with Love!

Hello sweet friends!

This post is specially to wish you, my dear and wonderful blog friends a very happy and blessed Christmas with all your dear families.

I will pray for all of you dearest blog friends to keep you safe and well and to thank God for knowing you, my life would be dry without blogging about what I love most, the home and not knowing you; because our daily visits make me sooo happy!

All I have to do is open my 'ciber box' and I know I will find you inside it and will immediately know how you are all doing, and of course, look and get inspired learning so much from looking at all your amazing posts, about so many topics, let these be tablescaping, food, decorating, crafts, religion, etc....even if old Martha Stewart thinks we don't give out accurate recipes and info. I know it's not true, I have proved it, time and time over, as I have never learned so much from any magazine, more than I have from your fabulous posts!

Therefore, this would be my last 'Christmas 2013' table mostly to share with you my favorite holiday embroidered Spanish tablecloth I bought several years ago and where I will be setting our "Christmas Eve dinner to celebrate the coming of our Saviour The King Jesus Christ."

Lots of love and happiness this Christmas 2013, from my house to yours.

The tablecloth is made of a thick satin material and machine embroidered.

Besides the red and little green embroidery, it is also embroidered with metallic threads where the flames of the candles are and throughout the embroidery as you can see here..

A better close up. The mugs are from our past Factory.

The gold, green and red glasses are Czech-Bohemian, vintage. I broke a green one early this year at a luncheon while washing it...sniff,sniff...

Here you can appreciate the embroidery with gold metallic threads as well.

Again, many happiness and blessings this Christmas for all of you, dearest friends.
Thank you so much for your kindness.

LOVE,
FABBY

I will be joining some parties, for which I thank the wonderful and gracious hostesses for having them up so close to Christmas.

FABBY: My Favorite Christmas Table!

Hello sweet friends!

I say that my fav table for C'mas is certainly a 'traditional' one, such as this one I'm sharing today for the wonderful Christmas Season 2013.

I did stop dreaming of a White C'mas caz it's no use, it's really NOT gonna snow here and it's almost 80, nice and dry...so now I'm with all the wonderful colors of the season, such as red, green, white.

Hope you like it, as your lovely comments are so very appreciated, because you guys always make my day!

So here you have it; at the end of the day I'm simply traditional when it comes to Christmas!

I DIYed this tablecloth and hand embroidered it when I was a young mom, back 28 years ago, when Alejandro was away on a business trip to Europe, buying machinery for his Ceramic Factory and I missed him so much!

Some Candy-canes in the my Mil's antique compotes.

When I was a young mom to my two little girls, I did lots of things myself, like sewing, embroidering, painting stuff, needle point, etc.

I saw this small wreath-bling hanging in the back of the dining chairs in a Spanish magazine and I copy catted it.

Mother gave me this cute nutcracker several years ago for a birthday in October.

Mother than gifted me this tall nutcracker for the C'mas following my birthday the same year.

The china is Lynn's Fine China and I have 16 place settings and serving pieces, plus soup plates, not shown in the tablescape. A gift from my sweet hubby almost 20 years ago and I love it every time I take it out by November every year.

The tablecloth is of a fine linen, all cotton, perfect for embroidering.

I have these poinsettias and leaves all around the cloth, some you cannot see as the centerpiece is covering most of it.

You will find this embroidery of dry greens and sequences all over the cloth too.

I combined it with green too...see, I'm soo traditional!

I like these chargers with the cane in the center of them...too bad no one can see it once you place the dinner plate on top, lol!

The hand etched compotes stems are antiques, they used to be my Mil's mother. The red wine stems are Italian.

I had this tea set made at our former Ceramic Factory. I copied the pattern from a holiday cloth I found.

I like a lot of Red for Christmas

I also sewed and embroidered a runner to match the tablecloth for the buffet.

Thank you sweet friends for visiting me, you always make my day!

Thanking the wonderful hostesses for having me at their great parties each week.

MERRY CHRISTMAS

LOVE,
FABBY
