FABBY: A Summer Table Setting

Hello sweet friends!

After coming back home from our vacation in Florida with our dear family, I wanted to celebrate summer in the USA for you, since it's official now, as we just enjoyed a hot and sunny summer in Orlando and Miami; whereas in my neck of the woods it's always spring, warmer and colder, but now it's warm, with a soft sun and in the late 70's.

I decided to set a very colorful table, using my orange dinner dishes with lovely summer plates in different fresh colors I bought from the trip.  Next time I will use my new Read and Barton flatware, star plates for the 4th. of July and others.

Hope you like my summer tablescape for eight.

I decided on a blue tablecloth, opposed to a yellow one I almost picked; to remind me of the blue sea in Florida, as here in the Andean mountains there are blue skies, but not the sea.

I like my orange dinner plates, as the color goes so well for every season; now I'm using them for a summer table setting.

The ceramic vase, holding the cyclamen was made and hand decorated at our former Ceramic Co.-Monte Turi.

I love these wicker and cane chargers that I bought a couple of months ago; they are also light and fresh perfect for a summer setting.

The salad plates came in four colors..in yellow like here, and notice they have a butterfly too.

In green..

In blue...

And the last color is the orange. I love them all paired with the orange dinner plates. I bought eight of them, two in each color.

The last piece in the place settings is the Italian Bormiolli Rocco sherbets, from way back... for some fresh fruit medley, 'shrimp ceviche' or cocktail, etc. I used my ivory chunky flatware, green napkins with different color ceramic butterfly napkin-rings; which were also made by us.

The fruit plates at your left were also made back at our ceramic factory and they too have different fruit patterns hand decorated, like this one with 'sweet-tomatoes' and with a green pattern in the edges. The big platter with green decoration, at your left, was also made by us.

Here is a very summery decoration in the fruit plate.

Another with grapes and cherries.
Here is another fruit plate with peaches and grapes.

At left, another with apples and at your right with pears. There is others with bananas and babacos, a very local fruit, which I make pies with.

This is such a pretty green in the water glasses, again they'll be good come C'mas season too, I think, as here they're paired with my C'mas green wine glasses.

The centerpiece I fixed in the tray that goes well with the chargers and with my sweet cyclamen blooms I'm enjoying so much lately.

A small porcelain house with birds in the roof as a little tweak inside the cloche.

The little porcelain house has a removable roof, as it came with Candy many years ago and it was a present.

This is such a pretty large tablecloth I bought several years ago on sale for $12...I love the edge pattern with tulips.

This white ceramic bread basket with hand made flowers and gold in the edges, was also made back at our Ceramic Co.

A closer shot of the basket.

Ok, here you have it, my Summer tablescape for you. This shot is from inside the kitchen.

Thank you so much sweet friends for stopping by and always making my day!

I appreciate the wonderful parties such lovely ladies host each week.

LOVE,
FABBY

FABBY: Back Home from our Florida Vacation

The Harry Potter Wizarding World.

Hello sweet friends!

We had a fabulous vacation time in Miami and Orlando with our daughter Sofia and her family. The G'girls are adorable, Smart and they're so much fun, we enjoyed them every minute! They seemed to know it all, as they've been to Miami and Orlando so many times, specially to Disney and the Micky cruise even; so you can imagine the tour guides we had, lol! We hadn't gone back to Disney World since our daughters were small and that would be 20 years! The place has grown so much and of course, everything it's amazing! The weather was hot and terribly sunny and it also rained at times, but we got dry immediately too, because of the 90's climate, hahahaa.. I think I'm getting old, caz even though I walked and went up and down, got in and out of the rides, like a crazy woman and waited in lines for the rides; I was soo tired and no one was it seemed, not my young Sofia and her hubby, and not even Alejandro and neither were the little girls, of course! Than after, we would go shopping to the incredible outlets around Orlando and that part got me totally pooped, but I did enjoy the shopping part of it all and did some great buys for myself, I was so tired I tried cloths on top of my cloths, had no patience, as I was very 'demolished'! We would get home at 11pm after having dinner out and the little girls seemed not to give up, ever..geezzz!!!!

The gang! Alejandro, me, Cayetana, Victoria, Giancarlo and my girl Sofia.
The happy grandparents! The girls forgot their Micky ears at home, since they've been there so many times, they didn't even miss them!

Cayetana decided she wanted to wear lipstick for the entire day, lol...
Us four girls...and again, Cayetana wearing sunglasses, now, like the big girls...she's so funny!
Me in Neiman Marcus.. somewhat drooling... and don't be disappointed at me as I didn't buy anything, besides the huge prices for everything Mackenzie Child's, I really couldn't be schlepping, carrying back home heavy and breakables as they charge you a lot and that also helped for me not to do much damage on this trip and in that store, but, had I lived in the USA you can count I would've gone home with some big things!
I loved that cute pillow, but that bench was making me die a little! Look at the huge duck at your left..cute, ha!
Great animal print chairs!
...and look at the table scape!!!!!!! I like the napkin fold idea.
I loved these dishes and the great table scape. I did get a lovely set of Reed & Barton flatware for 12, with lots of serving pieces and steak knives...very similar to this set, shown here, but I like mine better. I got it at Bloomingdale's and it was on sale for a good price.
Look at the spectacular chandy! So many eye candy in this place.
The candelabra is to simply die for..isn't it?! Actually I would have loved to bring it home, but than I said, aah!
The view we had from our 9th. floor apartment balcony at the Lake Buena Vista Resort in Orlando. The girls and Alejandro went to the pool a lot, while daughter and Sil went to the course. I took pictures and stayed away from the very hot strong sun we had everyday!
My dearest ones...I love them so!
I could only thank our Lord Jesus Christ for the wonderful vacation He enabled us to enjoy and for my family..I feel very, very blessed and yes, GOD is GOOD...amen.

I will be answering some lovely and sweet comments I so pleasantly found in my last post and other posts as well; although it will take me a few days. I want to thank you lovely friends for your sweet and kind comments, as you always make my day!

Thank you wonderful hostesses for having me at your great parties, too.

LOVE,
FABBY

FABBY: Florida, Here We Come!

Hello sweet friends!

Our son in law is taking a short course for his business in Orlando, therefore, we have taken advantage and are going for two weeks to Miami and Orlando, with our grandgirls who will go to Disney World with us, for which you can imagine how happy and excited, "Abe Fabby and Taita Alejandro" are!

I will be out of blogland for two weeks and I'm saying goodby until than and will be commenting and catching up with everyone when I get back home.

Wishing all of you a wonderful Father's Day, to all the dear "gramps and dads" in your families.

                                                                     LUV YA,
                                                                     FABBY

Don't forget me now!

The cyclamen always blooms beautifully by my kitchen window, that's why I wanted to leave you for now, with a pretty sight.

Thanking you lovely ladies for visiting me, even though I will not be here, as we are leaving tomorrow early for a three hour drive to Guayaquil, Ecuador where our daughter Sofia and family will meet us and we'll part together for Florida from there...at least I'll be in the USA, a little closer to you, my friends!

See you in two weeks!
