FABBY: Daughter Sofia's New Home

I love this seating area, where Sofia and me love to set at night, drinking something cool and just talking girl talk and enjoying our company...nothing better than daughters, right? I would probably say this if I had a son too, but I don't, lol..
We had this pretty travertino color marble coffe table made for our daughter and SIL when they first got married.  You can have a better view of the Chinese wooden carved chest at left. Sofia just had her sofas reupholstered with this beautiful silk.
  Hi my friends!
I week ago we went to spend almost a week at our daughter Sofia's, her hubby and granddaughter's new house.  I went last December to help her with the move, but Alejandro didn't know the new house and so we went to the beach as well, as in this part of Ecuador is beach time and the beaches all over are just great.  Sofia lives by the coast, where the weather gets hotter in this time of year  and because of this reason school is off for  summer vacation.

The back yard is very pretty with a small pool, just enough not to have to much work to do and for the girls too, who love to be in it often in such great weather.
What you see is the back of the house with it's garden, where Sofia, who is a Gardenscaper by profession will eventually do a great job with it, she has some nice plans in store.
A photo taken from Sofia's bedroom' balcony.  You can see the huge maritime river that runs through the back of her garden.
A peek up the balcony.  Hubby cooked a terrific BBQ last week while we visited... he does a great job but hates the pics, lol.
What you see in the background of the garden is a huge maritime river again, where you sometimes see small boats passing by... so pretty!
 The entrance in the background.
The two oil paintings you see on the wall were painted by our SIL, he's quite the artist. He did a couple of more as well.
The dining room in the back.
Another pretty seating area for the men who seem to like to be close to the bar area, you'll see why below, lol!
That beautiful piece of furniture is Mexican with inlays of  different types of wood designs and hand done... our SIL uses it as a bar when opened.
I love this modern and classic chairs at the same token, that are a set with the pretty sofa as well. The artwork, atop the English chest is from a famous artist lady from Ecuador who loves to do this different girls with different types of dogs and we have one like that, which she specially made for us with a girl holding our beloved pug Ben who died 1 1/2 years ago, painted on.
The girls are learning to play the piano and gave us a little concert while we were there. This is a German Baldwin piano.
Victoria is seating on a beautiful antique Chinese hand carved trunk. Her pretty flower dress matches their Chihuahua's and Cayetana has pj's to match Chloe dog's.
Cayetana, Victoria and their mother are sporting great tans from 3 weeks at the beach... so lucky! Here Cayetana is dressed as Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz and she also sings Over the Rainbow too..cracks me up!
A beautiful shot of the beach resort from the apartment's balcony, where our SIL, Sofia, Victoria and Cayetana are staying for the summer too.
The entry way's foyer and the staircase to the upper floor.
We live in the Andean region, where the weather is a cold, like spring and a warmer spring all year round and even though in the North region, or the high lands of the Andes is always snowed, in the cities are not that cold.  Ok,  I hope you liked our daughter's new home.

Thank you for your lovely and kind visits, they always make my day!

Thanks to the gracious ladies that host the linky parties, I so love to join in every week.

Fabby: HAPPY VALENTINE'S!!

Hi my sweet friends!  I'm back home from almost a week of visiting our grandgirls at our daughter Sofia and SIL's new house.  This trip will be a next post, right now all I want is to wish everyone of you a HAPPY VALENTINE'S filled with lots of love!
Tomorrow we'll be having dinner by candle light, the two of us in this table, with some Chinese take out hubby loves!  The soup bowls are perfect for some wanton soup with veggies.  We'll see about the rest of the menu, lol...
I did my third Valentine's table for February 14, 2012...on my vintage French, with Carrara marble top table, in the foyer, or receiver and flanked by our two French stripped chairs.

The red stems are vintage and they belonged to my MIL.
My red chargers with vintage doilies from Belgium.

The dinner plate is from my fine china set. I like to mix and match colors like red and black.
The red plate is from a set of four dinner and mug plates...they're made in Ecuador.
The heart soup bowls I bought while visiting my daughter Sofia and found them for $1,45 at her supermarket.
I love this table for tomorrow, Valentine's Day, as we will be having chinese take out, which we simply love!
I high shot, so you can see the red bows design inside the soup bowls. These heart soup bowls are simple, but cute and perfect! I saw some heart shape dinner plates which I bought for my grandgirls...I didn't like the idea that they were pink, with checks and dots and wouldn't have matched my reds, or these bowls for that matter.
This antique, transparent, bone china tea set is from after WWI. I have six teacups and saucers and two teapots, one big and one small and a sugar bowl, which have dragon handles.
I love to mix black and red, it's so dramatic and romantic too.  The antique Chinese tea set has lots of red as well.
On your left corner you can see the smaller teapot.
The pretty hand painted platter was made by us at our former Ceramic Co.
I'm also using my pair of vintage French couple, wearing blue hats.
Anyway, here goes my Valentine's tablescape which I also dedicate to all of you my dearest blog friends. May you have a wonderful lovers day, filled with lots of love!

Happy Valentine's to the wonderful hostesses and thank you so much for having me, as well.

FABBY: Bavarian Valentines Tea Party

This Valentine's tea party was inspired by my new find, a vintage Bavaria, Made in US-Zone, Germany.  I found out they made Bavarian porcelain like this from 1946 thru 1948, while Americans were stationed in that zone after WWII.  Anyway, I loved this adorable tea set and hope you like it too.
I also baked a heart shaped Carrot Cake we all love and shared with four friends and later with hubby...who didn't even noticed that the tea set I was serving him in.. was new!...lol
Here is my tea party and in front stage my new find, this pretty Bavarian tea set.  Everything on top of a pure linen, embroidered tablecloth, made in the Philippines...the kind that it's difficult to iron, lol..
At left the antique, sterling silver Samovar that belonged to my MIL. The heart shaped Carrot Cake.
I am loving my new Bavarian tea set, which is different for me, as I'm always drawn to pink flowers and the pattern on them has a pale BLUE flower and small ones in AQUA.  I'm joining Blue Monday at Sally's as she will love this pattern.
This Carrot cake recipe and Cream-cheese frosting is from my Better Homes & Gardens-New Cook Book...(that's how the title reads, my book is very old!)

The darling teacups have flowers inside them as well. Love the gold lace pattern on the edges of the teacups.

I love this Capodimonte porcelain candy tray with the two little "puttinos" playing a harp and the other a flute.

A high shot.  You can see the embroidery on the tablecloth much better. The shadow made the silver Samovar dark, but I did shine it, even though I hate to do so.

The tea set has a gold lace like in all the pieces, including the teacups. I place them in the stands from three of my small cloches, so they can occupy center stage in this tea tablescape.
My mother's silver tea spoons from her First Communion, way back in 1937, when she was seven years old. Mother gave me a dozen of them.

So here you have it, my Valentines tea party with my new antique Bavarian-Germany, tea set with six cups and saucers.  Thank you my sweet friends for your visits and lovely, wonderful and kind comments you always leave me.
Of course I will be linking to some fabulous and fun parties and thanks to the beautiful hostesses.

HAPPY VALENTINE'S to you all.
