FABBY:Vintage French Foyer Table

I took this pictures from outside my window last Friday as a rain storm was approaching the city and yes, they can be full of thunder and lighting, it's a beautiful scene, even though it was only like 4pm, you can see it's already so dark!
My hubby and me went browsing at the European Antique's Shop and that's where I bought the cute boy and girl flower base that I posted previously. So, I remember looking at this beautiful Italian table with white Carara marble top and think...what a beautiful table! My hubby took one look at it and asked about it to the lady in charge and said: "look at this beauty, it would go well in the space in between dining and living rooms"! To make this story short, he bought it to my delight!

Ben, our beloved pet...it's going to be a year this 29th. of April since I had to put him to sleep. We still miss him so!

Here's the French Vintage table! Ain't she a beaut! Look at those legs and that white marble Carara top! Hope you like the place we chose to place her.

FABBY: In Honour of my MIL

This goblets are hand cut in the Chzeck Republic-Bohemian.

My Mil's pretty dishes.

Here are some of the serving pieces, there are 3 of each showing here.

I fell in love with this French boy holding the bowl with lid as it is Limoges, it's my new find. I just did a little shopping at the Antique European shop we have localy and he was $45, I couldn't resist him, he's vintage in perfect condition!

The crochet tablecloth was also my Mil's.

The blue cobalt chargers were made in our past ceramic factory and they go well with the plates it's because it has some blue flowers in it if you can see closer.

For herves tea or coffee after lunch.

I thought this lace napkins, I bought many years ago could go well with the tablecloth, it had the look and color. I have a couple of tablecloth's size of sheet material I made for a background to match the chinas I use... I also made a blue one too.

I used colourful bouquet to give it a spring feeling to the whole lunch.

The turn of this pretty French girl now, she's also a new find, she was $22...she's perfect to arrange little pink roses like this.

The center piece is a pretty cut glass crystal basket from the Chezch Rep., I have it many years... I wanted to keep the table simple and fresh for the lunch.

Yesterday we hosted a lunch for seven at the table because it was one of the Friday's of this Lent season as there is a custon in this part of the world to have a soup, as a main dish, made out of various fresh grains and bacalah fish, which is quite delicious and it's usually acompanied by an antree of a "tamale" made of "yuca", which is a tuberculous like potato and for dessert yougur with fresh fruit. It is on this note, that I decided to share with you my Mil's china made in the USA-The Padden City Pottery, that she got for her wedding in 1940 it has had almost 70 years of loving use and it's still going strong! That's why I'd like to honour her because she liked to use this set for 24 for the "Fanesca soup" occation as she always had lots of family, having seven children of her own. There's probably sixteen places left intact as some were broken and chipped, but the serving pieces are perfect for which I'm so lucky and happy to own it. Thank you Lali

Fabby: Dinner Party a Year Ago.

About a year ago we hosted a dinner party with a few good friends after we remodeled our kitchen and so I was so excited to start the "party cooking" and use all my new appliances, like my double oven and everything my brand new kitchen privided me, specially how wonderfully organized I finally was. I wasn't blogging than, so the pictures are the home made tipe, didn't have to worry you'll see them!...LOL

You can see me tiding up my house for the party and than next to my table setting and so is my dear hubby in the small marble antique table. The chinese alcanphor wood and hand decorated trunk was a gift from my MIL one one of my hubby's

b'days...it's more than 100 yr. old . The black chair next to eat was my grandmother's. The gorgeous roses are from my BIL's Rose Farm. The piece of furniture flanked by the two French red striped chairs belonged to my hubby's grandfather, turn of the century Italian, the flowers in the doors of it are carved by hand. So, I hope you

FABBY: Another Tableware Design

I'm posting at BNOTP Thursday's another of my dishes I designed at my husband's Ceramic Factory we owned 3 years ago. This design I used in making my tablescape last Thanksgiving, but maybe not everyone saw it, as I was so new at blogging.
The inspiration for this design came from the wrapping blankets Indian women use for their infants, they're made of thin natural colour wool they weave themselves by hand, and the embroidery is with birds and flowers...and of course, the beauty of it is that they use lots of colour! So here goes the one we used to call: "Baby Blanket". The candle holders are from Portugal, they won as best design in glass in 1994, I found that out later, I just loved them and bought them here.....I loved the lotus-flower look to them.

Fabby: VIVA! ST. PATRICK'S DAY!

Hi! I'm so excited to participate with my St. Patrick's Day tablescape with all of you talented people, Irish and NOT...like me.

In another post I shared with you all that I used to design china, hand made and hand decorated, inspired in the Ecuadorian Indian people's cloths. The one I'm showing you now the flowers are from women's blouses and the, yes, shamrocks are from the men's shirt collars. So I mixed the two embroidered patterns and came up with this design, many years ago... and now here we are, my dishes and me honouring the Irish Catholic St. Patrick' Day with this china!

The place mats my MYL gave them to me many years ago and I couldn't believe they went so well with the plates! This place mats are also falk art from this region and are also hand made in a "frame loom" and it also has a green flower at the two edges of each one!

The green goblets are Italian and I only use them Christmas time so they don't break much more than they already have.

The astromelias had a nice and soft green to them, since I did this table they have bloomed beautifully.
