Table for 5 de MAYO, 2016

Hello sweet friends!

Hope you are all fine. I just got back from visiting the girls and I feel so much better with all the fun we had together. We pretty much disconnected somewhat from the country's latest tragedy.

When I first started blogging friends would all be eager to design tables for every occasion, as 5 de MAYO is; but lately, in the last couple of years I hardly see any tables capes with this theme, as I find them to be so much fun with all the colors and dishes to go with it and I love the inspiration too!

Actually, 'tables cape designs,' or 'setting' are very scarcely posted anywhere, somehow it may be just my idea.

I too didn't make one last year, so here goes my inspiration for 5 de MAYO  2016.

" I've been trying to post my new entry to blogger for a couple of hours now without any success, because my thumbnail doesn't show at all ! It's happened before, but after a few tries there it was."

Does anyone know? Has it happened to you before?

I had this table topper made some 25 years ago in 'Ikat weave,' as I even had some chairs upholstered with it. Now all I have is the topper which inspires me to make my 5 de Mayo tables.

I mixed and matched different green plates and the bowl is for 'shrimp ceviche'... nothing to do with a Mexican menu, lol..

The cutwork place mats are made of 'balsa-wood,' made in Ecuador.

The terracotta pot (was also made at our factory) in the back, (right side) is for making a very light chicken and veggie recipe. Which reminds me I should cook it one of these days.

The ceramic ceviche bowl was made by us on top of cheap, but cute green apple plates.

The flatware is in the basket and a Tequila bottle, hehehee

The cute chicken napkin ring was made at our former ceramic company...

... and here is the rooster napkin holder.

Ok, here you have it, my 5 de MAYO 2016 table setting, where we will have lunch with my mom tomorrow.

Thank you for your sweet and kind visits, you always make my day!

Thanking the lovely hostesses for having me join their great parties.

LOVE,
FABBY

You again pulled off a fabulous combination and I too love the shrimp ceviche .

  9. I think you are right, Fabby; not that many bloggers do tablescapes anymore. I think it's a shame, because some of the ladies (definitely you are in this group) have such beautiful dishes and linens. I always look forward to seeing your tablescapes, and this one is especially fun and festive! Cinco de Mayo is very popular here in AZ, and I think some folks probably started celebrating a week or two ago and will continue to the end of the month....lol! I've never done very many tablescapes, and I should really do more. I'm inspired!

Warm hugs and prayers continue for all the earthquake victims.
