FABBY: Ceiling Medallion

Before we left to stay with our two grandgirls, as their parents where going to Miami for our Sil's, post surgery check up, which by the way, we are extremely happy that his recuperation is going Perfect!....We had installed a hand made, plaster French style medallion we chose in our ceiling, After my antique Italian chandy was already placed up there! Anyway, the two men cut the medallion in half, sand it and proceeded to place it on the ceiling with more plaster; in the union of the two halves they placed more plaster, than proceeded to sand it down again and finally painted it and Voila! There was, right after the work, a very "thin dusty powder" like,.. ALL over the house, so you can imagine, there was lots of cleaning to do, but I was so happy and finally content and satisfied, that I cleaned the house singing...tra la la laaa...I love you...lol
Here is the now look and I love it, as the finished job it's beautiful!  It bothered me so much every time I saw the empty, bold looking part of the ceiling and I was so sorry I didn't think  and had it done Before they placed the heavy chandalier on the ceiling. I am so very happy and satisfied now, I'm not gonna complaint again, lol
I went for this pretty French pattern. This is the "icing on the cake", sort to speak, right?!
This is the Before photo without the ceiling medallion...now it's like a queen with her crown!
Here is a close up of the pretty medallion. I wanted it pretty and not ostentatious, as they had some like that too.
I decided to join dear Susan's Met. Monday with it, as I already posted it recently, but felt sad I couldn't join MM before, but now I'm so excited I finally can, with Susan's instruction.

  2. Fabby, is it wrong to say that it looks fabulous. It made me go look at my dining room and now I envision a beautiful medallion as icing for my sparkling chandelier. Where did you find yours?

  8. Beautiful! The medallion is exactly what the beautiful chandelier needed. A queen with her crown!

  9. I agree, bare hanging chains of chandlers look so unfinished. Yours is now quite lovely and finished looking.
