Hello sweet friends !
I hope you all had a wonderful and blessed Thanksgiving 2016.
Finally I got to "Reveal the Guest Rooms; Part 1" for now, as there would be to much pictures to bore you with. Therefore, Part II of the Reveal will be the "Bathroom and Walking Closet" from this kind of 'suit' we had done for our girls Alexandra and Sofia when they lived at home.
Although there are a couple of things 'missing here yet,' such as some pictures on the wall and specially, my Mil's antique mirror and bed headboard that was hers when she was young.
Meanwhile, our DD Sofia came to 'inaugurate' it, two weeks ago with her family and didn't recognize her old room... so cute !
These two bedrooms are separated with a half wall for our daughters, before Sofia left when she got married and Alexandra right after, to be on her own and now married as well, mother of our latest grand-girl, baby Maxima
Ok, that said ! Here is the reveal with some touches of Christmas as well.
The girls had great built-ins in their two rooms for books and desk areas, now they're ALL mine, lol.. |
I am enjoying ALL the storage space I have just for me now... and believe me, every space is full, or at least, not empty ! |
All this wall fixture cabinets, or built ins, where full with books and encyclopedias I had to give away. No use for them anymore with Internet ! |
We painted all these fixtures off-white as the rooms. The before pics are at the end of this post, so NOT to scare you...hahaha.. |
From here you can see Sofia's side separated by a half wall, this way the girls had they're privacy but were together at the same token. |
This side of the room is not so wide, therefore, I placed a twin bed here for the grand-girls. I also want to buy next, a sofa-bed, as the 'new-girls' are growing fast. |
More pretty and ample storage for me, lol.. |
All the way by the window, I want to place a sofa bed for more guests. You are all welcome to come and visit me, I'd love to have you ! |
Sofia also had book shelves and a desk for her homework and home studies in her side of her room, as well. |
This picture gives you an idea how we separated the two rooms with a half wall for our own daughters, but also kept each others side private. |
The window treatment was also replaced from draperies to Hunter Douglas shades.Last year I 'recycled' the chintz from the curtains into a lovely 'tablecloth' some of you might remember.
I leave you with my collection of Oriental teapots for the "Guest Rooms Reveal Part I." Next, for the "Reveal Part II" I will share the bathroom and walking closet, which I'm totally loving ! Thank you for your kind comments dear friends, you always make my day! Thanking the lovely hostesses for having me at their great parties. ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing space. It looks gorgeous. Thanks for linking to Monday Social.
ReplyDeleteGreat job, Fabby! Everything looks so pretty and look at all that space! I love the light color andd the built ins....Christine
ReplyDeleteDearest Fabby,
ReplyDeleteThat was so worth the dust and the weeks of waiting etc. Turned out fabulous and I'm a big fan for all white cabinets.
The rooms look larger too and so bright. Love the choice for wood flooring.
Yesterday, when I did clean our bedrooms and office floors moist, I was so proud that we decided for solid oak! It was worth the investment for the five rooms we have it in, also dining and living.
Now I will scoot to Part II as I'm very, very anxious how that turned out.
Hugs,
Mariette

These rooms are beautiful, Fabby! They've definitely come a long way from how they were decorated for your young daughters. The built-ins look gorgeous in the creamy white and really add such a lovely grace to the rooms. I'll bet you really are loving all that extra storage and your little desk nook. I'm off to see the rest of the reveal right now!
