Hello sweet friends!
I consider 'January' the month of home decorating after the holidays.
We all want to decorate our homes "back to normal" which is what hubby calls it, lol.. That's cause he rather see his home without the C'mas décor ASAP...as he says the "jingle bells" tires him after a while... he cracks me up, really!
Anyhow, I did do some Winter vignettes here and there a little different then last year's.
I'm sharing the foyer table and the dining room pieces, mostly, since it is where I can do more of the switching and decorating.
I'm not good at creating vignettes, like most of you are.
It seems that the majority of my elements of décor have turned out to be 'blue and white,' which is fine with me, as is my fav color- combo.
Up front this pretty Oriental ginger jar I got for Christmas from DD Sofia, since I've never had one, I'm loving it! |
At your far right I placed my Meissen two tier server I love, instead of the Oriental lamp I had before, thus removed... some of you might remember it.
In the center of the buffet my vintage English stoneware bowl and in the back, standing on the tier is an English, 'Shakespeare Land' platter... a latest find from a couple of months ago. |
In the heirloom antique English buffet I brought back my two Oriental figurines under cloches, along with some plates on stands, birds in nests and a Delft blue and white bowl. |
The Delft bowl is decorated with snowed pinecones I painted. |
In one corner of the buffet in the formal dining room I placed my 'Lady Carlyle' three tier server and vintage French teapot, along with the antique 'Bavaria, Germany' tea set from WWII.
In the other corner of the formal buffet a 'Friendly Village' tureen and round platter. Next to it my 'Meissen' bowl with three girls playing
"Hide and Seek" is what my granddaughter Victoria used to say when she was five... she's now 11.
I loved this thick cotton runner with blue stripes I got on an after Christmas sale. |
In the formal dining table I placed my English silver fowl cover, a Christmas gift from hubby four years ago... flanked by mercury glass and crystal Czech-Bohemian candle holders. |
This side piece is antique Egyptian and I decorated with mostly white. |
I painted the dried twigs and pine cones for a snowed look. In back of the white French doggies I placed a glass icicle from the top of my C'mas tree.
Thank you so much dear friends for your sweet and kind comments, they always make my day!
Thanking the lovely hostesses for having me at their great parties.
LOVE,
FABBY

All of your vignettes are so pretty. I love the silver down the middle of the dining table and the pretty blue pieces you have are stunning too. Gorgeous
ReplyDeleteGood Evening Fabby, As always it is a joy to visit you. You have a wonderful style and we are kindrid spirits because like you, I love blue Delft plates which I must say I have quite a few of, as Amsterdam is only a hop skip and a jump away from England.
ReplyDeleteI love how you placed your ornaments inside glass domes, I think that is a marvellous idea.
With warmest wishes.
Daphne
What lovely vignettes Fabby. The blue and white with the silver pieces looks so elegant. I love the new ginger jar that your daughter Sofia gave you but I think my favorite of all your blue and white pieces is your beautiful two tier Meissen server, I have always admired it!
ReplyDeleteYou have so many beautiful pieces and they're all displayed in a lovely manner. I agree about this time of year. I've been fussing around the house a bit- changing things a little for a new look. I'm glad the holiday goodies are put away. I love them but only want to have it out for just so long. I wish you lived closer as I have a couple of pieces of that pink China that would go with yours.
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful vignettes Fabby. I adore all of your pretty blue and white pieces. Am so crushing on that gorgeous ginger jar.
ReplyDeleteXO Barbara
I love everything you post. I do have an inquisitive question.. where do you store all these beautiful pieces omg I love them all I dont have storage space for all the gorgeous place settings... thanks for the visit sweetie!
ReplyDeleteFabby,
ReplyDeleteYour treasures are exquisite and the real deal.
You decorate your home with class, style and items that have been curated throughout the years- lovely!
Jemma
It would be impossible to make a wrong choice with so many beautiful pieces. Of course, my eye always goes straight to the Meissen tiered piece. Wow! I really like what you did with the entry table...interesting idea. Thanks for inviting us for a peek. Cherry Kay
ReplyDeleteDearest Fabby,
ReplyDeleteYou are a tease... telling us that you mainly LOVE you blue porcelain and thus it's hard to decorate with different things and than you end with a wild and colorful table full with books and on top other things!
But in a way I can agree with your husband... I've never been too keen about all that Christmas decorating. KISS is our motto for Keeping It Sweet and Simple.
Glad you managed to close the busy chapter of Christmas and you had even more things to do with going to Miami for the birth of your Granddaughter.
Glad all is well and indeed, the bells and whistles are behind us and let's hope we can enjoy a more relaxed pace.
Hugs and blessings!
Mariette
