Hello sweet friends!
As many of you know, I host a Rosary prayer with a group of friends the fourth Wednesday of every month, therefore it was yesterday and I took some photos of the Tea table, and I also explained before that it's a simple tea gathering, not a regular high-tea as we usually like to do.
I served homemade Brioche bread from my blog friend April, who always shares the greatest recipes at, "Dimples and Delights"! Store bought Sesame-seed buns, along with Dutch cheese and home made strawberry and blackberry jams, with tea or coffee.
I also decided I will be serving in different dishes every time and for the April's Rosary my choice was the red English transfer ware; which they all loved!
OK, here it is.
Happy May First to all of you!
The tablecloth I used for this tablescape is this lovely crocheted one mother made for me many years ago and she also made for my two daughters, and her Dil in other lovely patterns also. |
Bakery store bought delish sesami-seed buns. |
The centerpiece flower vase was made at our former ceramic company. |
The tea service contains two teapots, two creamers and one sugar bowl, plus a tray and two salad bowls; one is shown here with the bread buns and the tray with my brioche bread. |
My home made blueberry jam. |
The teacup and saucer up front is a vintage Wedwood and the one in the back is a new made one, I think. I have six of each. |
The flower-vase in the centerpiece was made by us at our former ceramic company. At left both home-made blueberry jam and at your right the strawberry one. |
I pulled out the marble tray in the Antique Belgium buffet to set the tea chest, glasses and water some ladies always seem to request, including me, lol.. |
My best friend gave me the tea chest with pewter work on top for my 50th. birthday and was made by her very talented sister. The glasses are etched and are Bohemian from the Czech Republic. Thank you so much sweet friends for your visits, as you always make my day! Thanking the gracious hostesses for having me at their great parties. I need to resume my Rosary prayer group, so much going on all the time, and another roof leak from heavy rain. we had yesterday damaged my living room ceiling!
ReplyDeleteYour table is lovely as always, Fabby. I would rather attend yours, I think! Have to check out the recipe for that beautiful bread. xo
Bellissima!Un amore di tavola romantica!Baci,Rosetta
ReplyDeleteDearest Fabby,
ReplyDeleteYou not only take care of precious table settings and serving always something very delicious but also the devotional gathering for spiritual food you take upon you.
Hats off to you dear friend!
Oh, how lovely that beautifully crocheted lace tablecloth is being done 'stitch-by-stitch' by your dear Mom. Please, do give her a compliment and no doubt the other ones she created are equally lovely.
Ah, Dutch cheese, you know what to serve and with the delicious sesame seed buns that is a treat and your homemade jams and the Brioche bread.
How cute those Dachshund knife rests! Believe it or not, I too do have a Dachshund knife rest in silver plate; reminder of my sweet Mauzie girl.
Sending you hugs,
Mariette

ReplyDeleteFabby, I love your red transferware, I collect it too, but only a hodge-podge, not such a nicely matched set. Those two teapots are beautiful, and look like they could handle refills too! The spoons are such a wonderful gift from your mother, and the tablecloth is such a treasure. Oh, think of the work that went into that! Have a lovely weekend Fabby!
ReplyDeleteHappy Pink Saturday, dear Fabby. I always smile to find you here with us. I so appreciate you always making Pink Saturday special.
ReplyDeleteYour group must have been thrilled at your lovely tea setting. Your tablecloth is stunning. I have one crocheted by my mother-in-law many years ago. An your alstroemeria centerpiece is so pretty. I love it in that gorgeous pitcher, too. I admire your pretty ivory butter knives. I would love to have place settings in ivorty, but I have not yet found them.
I've had a lovely catch up, Fabby. You have been busy with decorating, hosting a shower, celebrating, cleaning out the sideboard......inspiring, all!

ReplyDeleteHi Fabby!

Saturday Dear Daughter had a Scouts' activity and before leaving home I logged in the computer and saw this... I don't have to tell you how it stayed with me through the day.
ReplyDeleteNot only the beauty you created but all the gestures in your life that make your life a prayer and a blessing to so many.
I'm sure your prayers and your friends' will be heard and taken into account as Our Lady must be so happy to see this devotion handled this superior way.
Your creations are a prayer in itself. A reflex of your inner self. And this could very well be one of the top five tables created by you!!!
Love and thank you for praying and sharing,
T
Your table for the gathering looks lovely Fabby, and you are fortunate to have a service for 12 of the red chintz. I had to smile at the mention of the water, it seems us older ladies require it on the side even when attending a tea. :-)
ReplyDeleteFabby, you know I absolutely LOVE your red transferware and I never tire of seeing it! The tablecloth is beautiful as well and what a pretty table for your gathering. I love my water too! Thank you for coming to tea and have a splendid day.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Sandi
Another lovely tablescape from you Fabby. Wish I could pop in for a visit.
ReplyDeleteHello Fabby,
ReplyDeleteI love the way you set your table for this prayer meeting. The tablecloth is just right for your amazing transferware set. I love this pattern, it has so many lovely scenes on it. The tea pot is so fab!

Terri
