Hello sweet friends!
I say that my fav table for C'mas is certainly a 'traditional' one, such as this one I'm sharing today for the wonderful Christmas Season 2013.
I did stop dreaming of a White C'mas caz it's no use, it's really NOT gonna snow here and it's almost 80, nice and dry...so now I'm with all the wonderful colors of the season, such as red, green, white.
Hope you like it, as your lovely comments are so very appreciated, because you guys always make my day!
So here you have it; at the end of the day I'm simply traditional when it comes to Christmas! |
Some Candy-canes in the my Mil's antique compotes. |
When I was a young mom to my two little girls, I did lots of things myself, like sewing, embroidering, painting stuff, needle point, etc. |
I saw this small wreath-bling hanging in the back of the dining chairs in a Spanish magazine and I copy catted it. |
Mother gave me this cute nutcracker several years ago for a birthday in October. |
Mother than gifted me this tall nutcracker for the C'mas following my birthday the same year. |
The tablecloth is of a fine linen, all cotton, perfect for embroidering. |
I have these poinsettias and leaves all around the cloth, some you cannot see as the centerpiece is covering most of it. |
You will find this embroidery of dry greens and sequences all over the cloth too. |
I combined it with green too...see, I'm soo traditional! |
I like these chargers with the cane in the center of them...too bad no one can see it once you place the dinner plate on top, lol! |
The hand etched compotes stems are antiques, they used to be my Mil's mother. The red wine stems are Italian. |
I had this tea set made at our former Ceramic Factory. I copied the pattern from a holiday cloth I found. |
I like a lot of Red for Christmas |
I also sewed and embroidered a runner to match the tablecloth for the buffet. Thank you sweet friends for visiting me, you always make my day! Thanking the wonderful hostesses for having me at their great parties each week. ReplyDeleteLove beautiful either way, Fabby! You always set the most amazing table, and this one does not disappoint. So lovely with even the chairs dressed in their finest!

A more beautiful Christmas table I have never seen!!! And for the very first time - I have the very same plate chargers!!! YES!!! We match!
ReplyDeleteFabulous table! You always have the best china and ceramics. Gorgeous linens too
ReplyDeleteFabby, I love traditional, too, and generally do it on the grownups table. I did a whimsical table tonight, but most of my Christmas tables, at least the big people's tables, have been traditional. I kind of go wild for kids! And they vary year to year. Sometimes I sit with them, though they want to know why a little old woman is there. ;-)
ReplyDeleteYour table is stunning! And I love the ornaments on the back of the chair the way they accent them. Tis is a lovely table!

Dearest Fabby,
ReplyDeleteYes, you do like a lot of red for Christmas but with the green and white there again is this surprise of blue in the large nutcracker from your dear Mother!
Lovely setting; all the way.
And you outdid yourself with that embroidery on the special two-toned table cloth. Hats off!
Hugs,
Mariette

I love traditional, Fabby, especially at Christmastime. There's nothing like the call of red & green to make me start humming Christmas carols and thinking about baking cookies!
ReplyDeleteI really like the chair treatment! It brings a special little fun touch to the room!
I think it's wonderful that you have kept and so lovingly cared for that tablecloth for all these years. It's obvious there is a lot of sentiment attached to it. Beautiful!
