Hello sweet friends!
How fast Summer is going and really, the entire year is!...before we realize it, it'll be close to Christmas 2013! I really don't like this 'time flying' to be honest with you, it seems like I'm flying behind TIME holding it's skirts and wanting it not to go away!!!
"To better things!" This post is inspired in our after lunch tea with my Mil's cookies, which my Sil gave me some, as only she knows how to make them, lol..
A few posts ago I mentioned that the custom here in Ecuador is a heavier lunch and a light dinner, therefore, after we have our lunch, hubby and I love a little dessert, like cookies with tea or even coffee. Anyway, here it is, set so we can have tea and cookies.
A little tea and cookies is set with my two Polish cups my dear daughter gave me three years ago for my birthday. They have cute birds on each side of them. |
My Mil's cookies I don't know how to make. The small teapot holds some antique silverware that were my Mil's...which I always keep at hand in the kitchen. |
Isn't this small silver 'tea caddy' I bought early this year, adorable?... with a flat teapot on both sides! |
The honey cookies and in the back a gold wood box in the shape of a duck. |
Like I said before, we love our cookies and tea for after lunch. Hope you liked it too. Thank you my sweet ladies for your wonderful and kind comments, you always make my day! ReplyDeleteThe habit of a larger lunch is so much healthier.
Happy weekend.
The teacups are so sweet! I bet the cookies tasted so good! I love the idea of having a water dispenser on the counter infused with lemon.

How sweet. Love all the birdies! Beautiful cups and saucers Fabby!
ReplyDeleteFabby it sounds like you've had a busy few months, or year, as you say. For me, too, time has flown. Little one began kindergarten this year. I do like your Polish teacups and the idea to linger over lunch with hubby for a cuppa and a cookie sounds wonderful. I also enjoyed your handsome nephew's table and the bright dash of orange with the chargers. Wonderful.
ReplyDeleteI hope you are having a lovely weekend.
Oh-Your cookies and tea after lunch look just delightful. I love visiting you and seeing what you are up to, Fabby.
ReplyDeleteI love the sweet teacups from your daughter- xo Diana
I love your tea!! We tend to eat lighter in the evenings as well. Healthier, I think. You have such beautiful things and I love to look and linger over each and every photo!
ReplyDeletegreat dishes, very harmonious coloured, wow!!! everything dear from angie from Germany
ReplyDeleteFabby, I, too, prefer a little heavier meal at lunch and a light supper (is that a southern thing?).
ReplyDeleteYour offering of tea, coffee and cookies is just the perfect dessert! The cookies look so tasty and those cups! I would want to use them everyday, since they are so lovely!
Greetings from Jamaica FABBY! Everything looks so beautiful. Of course my eyes could not miss the birds!:) We have a heavy lunch and a light supper. At times we have cookies. I like how everything is arranged. Very appealing! I am a new Follower of your blog. If you wish do link up on my Creative Monday Blog Hop that goes live on Sunday afternoons. Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, Fabby! Love your tea cups, and could use some tea and cookies about now!! Great post!
ReplyDeleteI love your tea setting. It looks so inviting and cozy! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteAs beautiful as always, Fabby.
ReplyDeleteRemember the scarf I bought and would be using on a table? Today is the day. I had so much fun putting the table together, I think I will leave it for awhile and enjoy.:-)
What pretty teacups, and the silver in the teapot looks charming!
ReplyDeleteKaree
Dearest Fabby,
ReplyDeleteLovely afternoon tea or coffee for complementing your heavier lunch. It is a healthier way of eating your heavier meal during the day and a lighter supper but we cannot always work it in. I was raised that way however and my Parents still maintain that tradition.
By the way, all of your hostess links are incomplete...
Sending you love and sunshine for a change!
Hugs,
Mariette
An afternoon treat of tea and cookies sounds like a lovely habit. We do the same, but often have our cookie with an expresso. Pretty kitchen shots, Fabby.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely tea for two! Tea time is a favorite of mine, but I don't get to have much tea anymore (unless it is green tea, which I don't like as much as black tea.)
ReplyDeleteWe also like to to eat a larger meal at noon instead of night.
Katherine
Hope your MIL give's you the recipe soon so you can share it with us! Love the set-up as always, that tea holder is zoo adorably cute and perfect for your afternoon tea!
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet post about sweet things, Fabby! I love it! And the sweet cups and saucers your sweet daughter gave you, with sweet birds--it's all sweet, I tell you! :) I especially love the cup with the chickadee--you know why, don't you? All beautiful, Fabby! Buen provecho to you and Alejandro! ~Zuni
ReplyDeleteFabby, those teacups are just wonderful! You always put your treasures together so perfectly. It's a joy to visit!

What pretty teacups and the cookies look lovely. I like your white teapots. I enjoy keeping things like silverware in a teapot too. They make such sweet receptacles. Thanks so much for coming to tea with me, Fabby.

A lovely vignette for your tea. The gifted teacups with the birds are very pretty, I just found a cup and saucer for myself with a bird on it.

ReplyDeleteI feel the same way about summer, I don't want it to go away and I feel like I'm holding onto it's shirt tale saying "wait, wait, I'm not ready for you to go"...it's inevitable though, dear Fabby, I know.
ReplyDeleteYour tea is lovely and the water dispenser is exactly what I need for family get togethers.

ReplyDeleteGood evening, Fabby! I hope you've had a wonderful Tuesday.
ReplyDeleteI like the idea of having a larger lunch and smaller dinner. I bet it's healthier and better for sleep @ night.
What a delightful habit of having dessert with tea after lunch. I like that! The sweet little bird cups your daughter gave you are precious. I really like them! THe cookies look delicious, too.
Your water dispenser reminds me of a spa. What a neat thing to have in your kitchen! Plus the lemon water would encourage me to drink it for my health.
Thanks for linking-up! You've made my day.
Off to make some tea. I'm suddenly craving a cup! ;P
xo,
RJ
Now I'm very hungry after seeing your cookies! Visiting from Willow Pond linky party ;)

ReplyDeleteHola
Fabby I always love a glimpse of your home, or of your lovely china and tea time....but I must say those teacups are AWESOME!!!!!
