Hello sweet friends!
As many of you who follow me know, my mother comes every Wednesday and spends the day with Alejandro and me; that means she eats lunch and dinner at home; with a little 'happy twist' this week we had our lovely daughter Alexandra as a guest as well. She came to visit us from the capital, Quito, where she resides. She came last Monday for a week and we also celebrated her been featured in an international magazine as a skilled and talented children's photographer, (Alex is a professional photographer and takes potos of everything, including children).
My daughter and mother inspired me to make this elegant, (photos of Alex at the end of this post) but simple table setting with mother's Polish china she gifted me a few months ago from her NY stash, as mother also has many dishes so she can spare some to her 'only daughter,' lol..
When mom gave me this gorgeous set of dishes for eight some months ago, she said that she was gonna 'keep the teacups' for 'her tea parties,' (sniff, sniff) but now she had a change of heart by giving me the teacups, sugar bowl and creamer, as the teapot she said daddy broke long ago... which was a WISE decision on her part, been that she is a very 'intelligent' lady that I adore!!!
The Wawel-Polish china mother gifted me a few months ago and now complete with salad plates, teacups and saucers, along with sugar bowl and creamer. |
I used the cobalt blue chargers from our past Factory to bring out the lil'blue flowers in the china, plus pretty glass stones cobalt blue napkin rings...I had forgotten I had! |
I love the teacups with pedestals! |
As a centerpiece I used this lovely porcelain Antique French urn, with white porcelain roses embossed, hand decorated angels and Rem's heads on each side. |
Hubby's grandparents English buffet is newly tweaked with my two pink tea sets. |
White lace place mats. My Mil's lovely French stems. |
The flowers in the Antique Belgium buffet, as the vintage French urn has taken center stage this time. |
The entire photo which she sent us...taken by the magazine's own photographer. Alejandro, mother and me are very proud of her, so I made a special lunch aaand dinner for the four of us in mom's china. Thank you so much sweet friends for the wonderful comments, as you always make my day! Thanking the gracious hostesses for having me at their great linky parties. What a special occasion this was. So glad you let us be a part of it. Your daughter is so pretty and obviously very talented. What a grand way to spend quality time with them both.
ReplyDeleteFirst off-Congratulations to your beautiful, beautiful daughter. The examples of her work show how very talented she is. Taking GOOD pictures of children is no easy feat. I am so glad that she was honored in a magazine.
ReplyDeleteI love the table setting, Fabby. That is a wonderful set that your Mom gifted you with-and I am glad she broke down and gave you the cups and creamer, etc. All the blue accessories are great accompaniments. Beautiful, Fabby!!! xo Diana
Hi Fabby! What a elegant setting! I love the crisp white against the rich deep blue. A perfect color union. I also love love the French urn. Everything looks so formal yet inviting. Thank you for sharing this inspiring table with us. A big congratulations to your beautiful and talented daughter.
ReplyDeleteYour tablescape is such a work of love for both your mother and your daughter. This is the greatest gift we can give one another...using our talents to show our love and respect for them.
ReplyDeleteYour daughter is so lovely and lives in/near Quito. I would love to visit there in February when the convent there is open for viewing Our Lady of Good Success. She is so beautiful from the pictures I have of her and I saw a film of the convent, etc. and Blessed Mother...she almost comes alive. That is a pilgrimage my dear one and I would truly love to make. We were in Rome in 2000 for the Holy Year...our last major trip, alas!
With gratitude,
Sylvia FAye

Me encanta.
Volveré más tarde, a la noche, para ver si puedo leer.
Muchos besos
