Our darling, tall, handsome and wonderful nephew came for a two week visit, to his parents, my brother Joe and his wife, Lourdes, who is hubby's sister..YES, I'm married to Alejandro and my brother is married to his sister! Therefore, we both share the joy of having this wonderful and handsome boy as "our" nephew, who will be graduating from Berklee College of Music in Boston next year, with a career in Music Engineering...we are so proud.
Last night I made a quick dinner in Daniel's honor, with eight members of our family and that's why the table is in my blue and white onion dishes, silver tablecloth, chargers and candle holders. I was so lucky that the centerpiece it's still so fresh and pretty, from my last table scape, five days ago. I mentioned last week that, weather around my neck of the woods is like Fall right now.
I thought it was a masculine table for our nephew, in blue and white, with silver.
In Oct., or Nov. 2011 we changed our window treatment, from draperies to Hunter Douglas shades and so I had made a tablecloth from the dining room curtains and here it is.
I had this tablecloth from a fine fabric made out of our dining room draperies. It has very soft gold and blue cris-cross lines running thru it and the background of the thick satin, is silvery.
For the silver accent I used my pewter chargers and bread plates to match, as you can see the table topper is silvery too.
The tablecloth cost me to re-purpose it from the curtains only $8, that the seamstress charged me for making it.
I had this kind of wide pleats made all around it, cause the curtain material wasn't wide enough for the dinner table.
After five days and the centerpiece it's still fresh and pretty in my galvanized vase. Mercury glass candle holders for more silver touches.
Blue butterfly napkin ring, made at our former Ceramic Co.
Lots of blue for our dear nephew Daniel.
In the back drop a tea station.
I hope you liked it.
Thank you so much my lovely friends for all the wonderful comments you always leave me.
Thanks gracious and lovely hostesses for having me at your terrific parties each week.

Beautiful tablescape, like always. I love how the tablecloth turned out. In my family my sister is married to my husband's brother. :)
ReplyDeleteFabby,
ReplyDeleteI, too, have a "double cousin"!!! My dad and his brother also married sisters!!! We always had the best time at family gatherings! Your nephew is one fortunate young man to have such great support of his family! What a lovely tablescape in his honor! I enlarged some of the photos to get a closer look at the fabric on your tablecloth! Exquisite! I adore the butterflies for napkin rings as they pick up the hues in the floral arrangement! "Every occasion of life is reason to celebrate." My mission statement is quite fitting for your family's celebration!!!
Fondly,
Pat
What a delicious dinner party! I LOVE your tablecloth and the fact that it can live on in a new way! It's perfect with your blue&white(which I always love). Blue looks SO beautiful with silver, "BUT" doesn't it "REALLY make a statement with GOLD"!!! LOVE,LOVE,LOVE it!!!
ReplyDeleteBut I have to confess, My VERY VERY VERY favorite of all your dishes "ARE YOUR OWN CREATIONS"! They make me "MELT" every time I see them!
I'm still learning my new computer AND I have to figure out HOW TO get my photos "up and running". I hope to be back with a post soon...
Big Squishy Hugs to you,
Donna

Omg Fabby! You are scaring me. How can we think so much alike? Using both silver as part of our tablescapes and create both tables for our nephews, that is really too much of a coincidence. But I do not have a brother or sister married to John's sibling, lol. The closest I can get to that is that John and I have the same birthday and his brother and mine have the same birthday too....Christine
ReplyDeleteI love every bit of this table, Fabby. Gorgeous blue and white!!
