I bought this Spanish china in beige with soft brown strokes here and there, to give the plates an old, faded look...it was called "Country Look".....since it's kind of boring, I decided to pair it with some pieces that were made at our former Ceramic Factory. The design was the very first pattern and shapes the Spaniards made in colonial times here in Ecuador, using the wheel, or shaping them by hand, instead of using molds, so my hubby and me made them in the same way, except with modern materials.
The flowers and the base I chose for this country style tablescape.
The base is hand decorated at our former ceramic factory. The ambar glasses was my mil's present for one of my birthdays, they're 12.
The salad bowl, the creamer and sugar bowl, they're all part of the Spanish china.
I love this cheese dish with lid, that has a black and white cow on top! This beige china came with mugs instead of cups, I paired them with cup plates from the green designed china.
The green napkin ring was made at our ex-Ceramic Factory too and it has a little bird on it.
The canister with a lid that has a sack of coffee and a vintage silver spoon, in the "spoon rest"; we made it for instant coffee, or coco, to display it on the table on something pretty, instead of the jar from the store. The little bowl is for marmolade.
I little rooster in the green napkin ring...so cute! The napkins I bought new, from a hotel that close down, they wash great!
A better view of the table setting. The center piece has a part with a basket weave design to it. I ut a plant when there's no flowers.
The place mat, is in brown, Chinese, straw handwoven, forming scallops.
The chargers are ceramic made at our past Ceramic Factory. This is an original Spanish design from colonial times.
The Spanish country beige dinner plate and the green and white salad plate. The flatware is from 1975, bought in Bloomingdales, NY...very modern in those days, with an oriental look.
The place setting, plus the beige soup bowl and rooster napkin ring.
I used colourful flowers bought on sale for $1,90 at the supermarket, in a beautiful center piece with a kind of basket weave and hand decorated, also made in our past Ceramic Factory. Hope you like it.
