FABBY: Autumn Leaves

   I always loved Autumn, as a girl from Queens, NY, it was my favorite time of the year, I loved to go to beautiful Astoria park with my little friends and we would all jumped on top of the beautiful bed of leaves, brown, gold-yellow, red and ambar with stricks of orange and to hear the crunchy sound this would produce!  October is also my birthday month, so I always got a lot of attention from my parents, my brothers,  my cousins, uncles and aunts would come from LI, bringing presents...it was great!  Actually, it still is with my hubby, daughters and grandgirls, too!

   Besides fall, I got inspired by a tablecloth I hand embroidered several years ago with orange fall leaves and my vintage Oriental bone china, which I paired with  charges that have an orange band,  bringing out the orange flowers of the china.  The centerpiece  I did in a large wooden oval tray that were used to make bread dough and I  arranged it with nature's fall bounty and faux leaves and flowers.  I hope you like it and I invite you my dear wonderful friends from blog land, which inspire me with such enthusiasm  to try come up  with tablescapes that go with the seasons, festivities, or whatever theme we're in the mood.  Thanks so much in advance, I so appreciate your wonderful visits and generous comments.

 I thought I show you the center of  my embroidered tablecloth before I set the centerpiece, which is some what big.

 The Autumn tablescape.  The four corners of the table topper is embroidered like you see here.

 The wooden large tray which people used to knead big amounts of dough for bread making.

 The candle holders are Portuguese, they won a design award in the 90's.

 The wine is fuax...let's not get excited, lol!

 The leaves look like grape leaves, but also like fall leaves, maybe??

 The center piece...I love the colored corn!

 I loved the shape of the pumkin I found at the local open market, along with the other things.

 The glass napkin rings are a new find, I loved them because they're glass and had the color of orange candy.

 The tablescape for eight.....the cute little salt celler was made at our former Ceramic Co.

 This small bowl is for dessert, but I use them with a clear chicken soup with wine, a French consomè as an antrè.

 The layers and the centerpiece.  The stems are hand blown in Mexico.

 This is a big dinner plate, like they make them now, so it was perfect as a charger for the smaller, vintage one and I like the way it brought out the orange flowers in the oriental plates.

 The vintage oriental dinner plate is so much smaller than the modern ones, this enabled me to use them as a chargers,  I'm even thinking we'll have Thanksgiving in this combo!

 The layer with the small bowl...this china comes with bigger soup bowls and soup plates, too.

FABBY: Fall and Cinnamon Bread

 I love the way it looks n the cake stand.  The yellow fruit is an Andean fruit called "babaco", it's delish in fruit salad, but I love the pie, it's very yummy!, I use my pineapple recipe for it.

 Can't wait to cut a piece!

 I'm shooting this pics around 6 pm, so it's a little dark, the view from my kitchen window, I love looking at the river and the woods.  There's a beautiful hotel down there and what you see is the parking space.  The plant  growing in the pot by the window  is basil....just in case...

 The little ceramic basket was made at our former ceramic co. The cow tabletopper is plastic...oops!!  (it happens to the best of us, shshsh...)

 The fruit plates are from our past Ceramic Co. too. The very old white mugs are from our first years of marriage, 35 yrs. ago?; for tea or hot chocolate, I think it'll be yummy with the cinnamon bread.

Yersterday, while I was making my rounds visiting my blog friends, I ran into Lisa's post at: http://flourmewithlove.blogspot.com/ ......she had this great and yummy recipe for  "Cinnamon Raisin Bubble Bread," that looked  TDF!  After asking her so many questions, which she so graciously answered, I decided I was going to make it today and I did...mine didn't come out as pretty as hers, you see, hubby doesn't like sugar icing, so, it looks good, but a little rustic, not elegant like Lisa's, so thank you for the recipe Lisa.  I made a fall vignette with a couple of very old mugs, they're probably 35 yrs. old, they were 4, now there's two.   Don't look  Lisa, Lol!  I will be linking to the following great parties and many thanks to the lovely hostesses for having me.

FABBY: Pink Carnations

 I took this pictures in the day time, there's was not much sun light, though. This tablecloth is vintage hand crocheted and embroidered  with pink roses in two tones.  The dishes were made and hand decorated with pink carnations with cobalt blue. 

 A night view with candles.  The pedestal bowls are for the "shrimp ceviche" I'm serving for lunch tomorrow, it's set for four, us, my mother and her childhood friend from Sacred Heart School.

 The dinner plate with the napkins so similar to the tablecloth, but I bought them several years ago.

 I love the embroidery with the roses.

 Here is a better view of the embroidery.  I covered with the pink the table legs of the table in our kitchen nook as they're not that pretty.

The embroidery is cross stich.

 The cups for tea and  Granola cookies after lunch. The large, yellow fruit is a "babaco", a tropical fruit that grows here,  very delicious!

 The stems are hand blown in Mexico.

 The pink flower vase, in the background, is Japanese, I have it many year ago.

 The juice pitcher will contain blueberry juice tomorrow, my mother's fave.

 This German vintage, hand decorated, recipe holder, with pink flowers in the grapevines and windmill, a find I love from a few years ago.

 A vintage plate that my mil gave me very many years ago for one bithday it says in the back: Manufactured in France for, OETZMANN & CO. Hampstead Road London.  Very interesting?!

 I love the design of the plate, I keep it in hanging in plate wall.

I got home from visiting my daughter Alexandra from the capital, Quito, where she lives...we were shopping for a vintage dining room and we found a beautiful one, it wasn't delivered yet, so I couldn't take any pictures.  We're very happy!, the queen Ann table has brass feet and all the chairs have arms and apholstered in blue leather, just great!  Since I'm home now, I made a new  tablescape for Pink Saturday and it's with my hubby's favorite dishes from our past Ceramic Co., the one we used to call, "Pink Carnations," this design is usually found in the  embroidered blouses of the native indian women.  Tomorrow we're having a luncheon with  mother and a friend of hers from school and so I  will be serving "shrimp ceviche,"  following it, as main course, pot roast with rice...a mix of American food and Ecuadorian, lol!...we're having,  "babaco" pie which is a delicious tropical fruit that grows here, it's in one of the pics with the tea cups.

FABBY: Pink with Silver

The Spanish, organza tablecloth on top of a pink plain one.

I used my glass lazy-susan to put a few silver things with some porcelain things.

The wine is faux-rose.

This porcelain small house is a box for mints,  with  pink roses and doves on the roof.

This cute little hand made basket with a pink rose was made at our former Ceramic Co. and we gave it as favors at our daughter Alexandra's First Communion.

I used my pewter chargers with a doily specially  crochetted by my mother to be used on chargers.

The Italian Tognana, dinner plate...this china is one of my very fav, I love the design with the pink roses, too.

I used the sherbit vintage, Vianese glasses that belonged to my husband's grandmother, instead of the soup bowls.

The etched stems are Bohemian from the Czech Republic.  Pink napkin ring from our past Ceramic Co.

The buffet's ready for after dinner coffee, or tea with sterling tea pots...the one in the center and the small tea pot at left and the tray in the stand,  are vintage from my mil's wedding. The tea pot at right is from our personal tea set, bought in NY in the early  80's

The glass lazy-susan is really great, we use it everyday, with our daly things.  The silver sugar bowl with a vintage silver sugar spoon. The small cloche with a vintage silver bell, that was used to ring the maid to come clear the table.

I love this Italian vintage porcelain tray with little "putinos", playing the harp and the other, the flute, with some chocolates for after dinner.

I love this vintage English buffet that belonged to my husband's grandfather, with the old fashion big keys.  We keep it in our informal dining room side, along with our round table, which is adjacent to the formal dining room, this way we can use it when we have more guests for dinner.

This sterling bowl is an antique turn of the past century, it belonged to my mil's great aunt.  I've use it before with small buns for dinner.

The full tablecloths.   Bellow is a Turkish chair, with wolves at the end of the arms; I usually keep it next to the round table and now it's holding my mil's, pink "poncho-shawl." I love unusual chairs

     I always loved pink with silver since I saw a shepherd's tunic at a little girl when I was in grade school,  it was pink with silver piping and silver sash and I just remember thinking it was gorgeous and how lucky that girl was to be wearing such pretty tunic!   I made a tablescape, with one of very favorite china sets, my Italian Tognana with pink flowers, too...  remembering how pretty pink with silver was!   Hope you like it as I do.   Thank you so much in advance my friends for your kind and sweet notes you always leave me.   Thanking the lovely ladies that host the great parties I will be joining.         Lots of hugs.                 FABBY
