Here is my contribution for the Winter Tablescapes challenge at Cuisine Kathleen's for Let's Dish, a fun and always exciting meme she hostess every Wednesday night. I used my sixteen place setting Lynn's Fine China, specially because it has small blue rose buds and I love blue, white and silver for a winter table. This china with the little blue buds, prompted me to use my cobalt blue chargers made at our past company. The table setting has white porcelain dogs from my dog collection, silver birds, some sterling silver elements, mercury glass candle sticks and votives, as well as Bohemian crystal candle holders.
Here you can see a little of the silver tablecloth, with blue and gold pale stripes, criss crossing it all over.
and...in the other head of the dinner table is my Fil's sterling napkin ring, with his initials AC, engraved as well. |
The hand etched stem ware is Bohemian Crystal. |
The chandalier is an antique Italian, Marie Therese from early 1920's, Alejandro bought last year at the European Antique Shop and I totally love it. He surprised me with this gift!! |
By candle light only...so romantic! |
...so here you have it, my Winter Tablescape. I hope you liked it, as I don't have just the right winter accessories, like I enjoy in some of your great table settings, cause you see, there's no winter here, as we know it in the Unites States...actually it's like a warm and sometimes colder spring and only in the high Andean mountains you can see lots of snow. Thank you my dear friends for your kind and generous comments you leave me, they always make my day!! Thanking the wonderful hostesses for having me at their great and fun parties each week and for featuring me sometimes too, you forever honor me! It looks very pretty Fabby. I like that you repurposed your former drapes into the table cloth. The china is pretty and I love the blue and white bowl for the centerpiece. Have a lovely day. Hugs, Pamela
ReplyDeleteFabby, this lovely tablescape should be in Veranda magazine. It's so elegant, yet I love the simplicity of your centerpiece. So pretty!
ReplyDeleteFabby, this is absolutely stunning. I love the china, so beautiful and your crystal is stunning also. So elegant and so lovely. Hugs, marty
ReplyDeleteWell, I'm going to that party to say THAT's NOT a Winter Tablescapes. That's one of the most elegant Tablescapes - and for ALL Seasons - I've seen lately. :swoon:
ReplyDeleteI'm so in love with the dogs' figures you added for whimsy.
It reminds me of Van Gogh's "Starry Night". With Precious Biscuit Dogs. Doesn't get MUCH BETTER than that.
Wow!!! Big Wow, Fabby!
Thank you for sharing!
Fabby,
ReplyDeleteOh, dear friend, this is exquisite!!!
I love your china with the blue (and pink) rosebuds!
Your tablecloth is amazing with the blue and silver criss cross!!!
Dramatic candlelight sets such an intimate mood.
We have the cold weather, here on the Prairie...but no SNOW!!!
Thank you for sharing your Winter Tablescape!
Fondly,
Pat
Dearest Fabby,
ReplyDeleteLeave it to you for the most gorgeous combinations of fabric, silver, china and crystal. LOVE the tablecloth and also the way you put those pleated 'volants' on the side. You sure do have a knack for arranging all pretty things and it must have been a pleasure for your Mother-in-law for seeing a daughter-in-law develop the very same passion as she had. You inherited some very fine pieces!
Hugs to you,
Mariette
What an elegant table! I really love that pretty china pattern, and how wonderful that you have a nice sized set of it! I always enjoy learning the "back story" of the beautiful items you include on your tables!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely gorgeous, Fabby! Your china is beautiful and the entire tablescape should be in a magazine!
ReplyDeleteFAbby, this is such a lovely table and certainly evokes a winter wonderland. Everything is so elegant, even the dogs standing at attention ready for an elegant service. I especially love the shots with your beautiful chandelier. It looks like icicles.
ReplyDeleteThis is really beautiful, Fabby! I love the gold flatware and the dishes, and I LOVE that gorgeous Chandelier!!! Thanks for sharing your beautiful table!!! =D

Hi Fabby, Your formal table is so elegant, and the candlelight shot is beautiful. I always enjoy seeing your amazing collections. Linda
ReplyDeleteBeautiful job, Fabby! It amazes me how nicely those of you who don't experience the teeth-chattering cold like we do here in the Midwest, U.S.A. can so easily imagine it well enough to put together a tablescape that conveys all things wintry! Because we here in the middle of the country go through the 4 seasons every year, it's sometimes hard to remember that many others around the world don't! You did a wonderful job, and I LOVE the dogs...what a great touch! They're so unexpected. I think that's what makes them so perfect for this!!!! Have a great weekend there in the warmth!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty! I love the unexpected touch of cobalt. You have such a lovely environment for your beautiful designs!

ReplyDeleteYour table is, as always, lovely, but what really strikes me is how perfect your chandelier is for a winter tablescape. Somehow the glistening crystal drops remind me of snowflakes.

I do love the dishes with the little blue rosebuds, and your blue and white English bowl with the snowy pinecones. Your Bohemian etched crystal is stunning, as are all your sterling pieces. Fabby - you and I have already discussed how we do not have winters, but you have done a beautiful job of creating an icy tablescape. Everything is gorgeous, as always, but I really love the pine cones in the blue bowl. They look as though they have been dusted with the first winter snow. Wish I could see the real thing - lol!
ReplyDeleteThe bowl of pinecones gives your table some rustic charm among the elegant china and beautiful decor. I love the photo that brings the chandelier into the photo! Enjoy your day, my friend!

ReplyDeleteGreat blog! I love this elegance table setting. Silver chargers are perfect for holiday, event table setting and dinner party. Sterling Silver Candelabra are the gift for the wedding, also for home dĆ©cor. It’s my Opinion that every dining room needs at least one special silver candelabrum.
