Up date on Giancarlo's operation: Everything came out perfectly as expected, he's in the recuperating room and Sofia will see him tomorrow finally. We are so happy for her too, as she was so worried and alone there...wish I was with her too and made myself two, in order to be a mom as well, lol... Thank you to OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST!!
Here is a tablescape I made at Sofia's dining room, where we are taking care of our granddaughters, Victoria 7 and Cayetana 5. The dishes displayed here were made at Monte Turi, our past Ceramic Co. designed by me, specially for Victoria, eight years ago and some of the big pieces (not shown here), have an inscription in the back that they were made by her grandparents.. specially for her.
The buffet in the back ground is an antique and the dining set is an Art Deco style, a gift we gave her for her college graduation. Sofia is a professional gardenscaper. She just reupholstered them with this lovely red.
The dishes were made at hubby's past ceramic co. and they were designed by me, with the inspiration on the Indigenous people of Ecuador's attire, which was my job back then, at our factory. Hubby owned it for 30 years.
Sofia has a beautiful, vintage looking, silver plated tray I love, which inspired me to make the centerpiece with the teacups, plates, teapot with roos, creamer with teaspoons and marmalade bowl with a strawberry on the lid... with leaf feet as well.
The dinner plate's design is orange with the decoration simulating an embroidery doily with flowers and humminbird. You can see that the design on the lovely flowers look like they were embroidered with thread. The artist from our company, Luis Leon, was wonderful, he interpreted everything I would imagine!!
The salad plate in a smaller version of the dinner plate and also with a hummingbird..I love this bird! The flatware is modern Italian in stainless and teak wood.
The soup bowl is adorable as it has three feet, in the shape of leaves.
You can see part of the leaf feet the soup bowls have. Sofia serves pasta, cereal, soup of course, etc., in them as well.
I love the silver, vintage looking tray as centerpiece. I also used one of her cloches to place the teacups and cake plates.
The sherbets for fresh fruit salad, walnuts, coconut flakes and yogurt.
The sherbets at front stage. They also follow the doily idea design. I little duck on top of this napkin ring.
A side view of the place setting. Here you can see better the leaf feet on the bowls. The glass chargers are a goldish, caramel color and are Italian. She has glassware to match, except I couldn't find them, she also has cartons and she's getting like me! Therefore, I used clear wine goblets and water caramel glasses to sort of match the chargers.
I love this silver tray! |
I just made the tablescape for six, although the table is for eight, but it could seat ten even.
Little bowl with a red chili pepper...guess what it's for..lol!! The napkin rings have little birds on top.
Thank you so much for all your prayers for our Sil's operation and good wishes for a prompt convalescence. I am always in debted with you all, generous, kind and sweet friends.
Thank you also for your kind and lovely visits as they always make my day and my life so exciting!
Thank you gracious hostesses for having me week, after week at your fun and terrific parties.
LOVE,
FABBY

Hi Fabby, It was such a pleasure to find you had visited my blog and left such a precious comment on my son's birthday. Thank you my dear. Such wonderful news on your SIL's surgery. I will add him to my prayer list for a perfect recovery too. Yes, God is good! What a lovely, lovely tablescape this is. Such a beautiful pattern you designed. What a talened lady you are and sounds like you and your hubby made quite a team with your former business. Delightful. Thinking of your daughter, too, and glad the hardest wait, during surgery, is over for her and they now look forward to better, healtier days ahead, together. Blessings and again, thank you for the lovely visit.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing this beautiful tablescape Fabby. The dishes are gorgeous.
I am so happy to hear your son is doing well. I will have them in my prayers...
ReplyDeleteYour table is "GORGEOUS"! Your ceramics are my VERY VERY FAVORITE! Just when I think I have a pattern favorite YOU SHOW ME MORE. (((YOU ARE SO TALENTED)))!!!

Dear Fabby..I am so happy to hear
ReplyDeleteyour SIL's surgery went well. I am sorry your daughter has to be alone
in a strange place, but I am sure the hospital is wonderful to both of them....
I love your grand-daughters' names
They are lovely!!
And the tablescape...well, you have another gorgeous one!! The dishes are so pretty, a touch of whimsey maybe, for a young lady, but certainly to go smoothly into adulthood. How nice to inherit some
thing so very special from her grandparents.
Everything on the table caught my eye!! I think the hummingbirds are
so darling!! And the footed bowls!
The tray is really beautiful, too. I especially love the shape of it!
Also, loving Art Deco like I do, I
find the dining furniture a treasure, too...love the red chairs. And the clock...what a fantastic antique...the whole thing
is an art of wonder!!
Thank you always for sharing your home, and your daughter's, with us.
I always look forward to your new posts and I think my comments are too long! LOL
But I did want to tell you MY hubby had open heart surgery last Wednesday..four by-passes. He did remarkably well and is now in the therapy part of hospital for re-hab
so he can come home next Tuesday. Yes, GOD is GOOD to us and we thank HIM for all of our guys' recoveries.
Much love, Francy
Oh wow, Francy, I didn't know about your hubby, I am so happy the surgery turned out great!! I will pray for him for a prompt recovery! My Sil is in a lot of pain, but it's normal and he's well. They're going to make him walk today, at least some steps. Thank you as always for your love, sweet and generous comments. Wihing you both a lovely holiday weekend.
ReplyDeleteLuv ya,

ReplyDeleteHow beautiful, fabby! That soup bowl is amazing. When I first read it I thought you said it was 3 feet! That would be a lot of soup!
ReplyDeleteSpeedy recovery to your sil!
SUCH great news to hear that Giancarlo's operation was a success!!! I am thrilled for your family and relieved right along with you. Please extend our best wishes as he continues to make his recovery. As for your table, dear Fabby, it is exquisite. You really have a wonderful imagination, and it shows through in the design of those dishes. The first thing I thought of when I saw them was the blouses of women in South America and Mexico. Beautiful interpretation! I'll bet you really miss that china company sometimes when you get an idea for something fabulous!!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a stunning tablescape and dish collection. As always, your table looks sophisticated and stylish-you are so clever!
ReplyDeleteBest wishes and happy weekend!
