FABBY: First Christmas Table 2011

Victoria decorating her cookies, she does a great job as she's such a little artist.
Cayetana is decorating her cookies too and she's taking her job so seriously...she cracks me up, lol!  Cayetana was my elf 2 years ago and now she'll be 5 in January 26th.....for the ones that saw my last post, where I show my 2010 Christmas?!

I made this casual tablescape inspired on my grandgirls's ginger cookies and they came out so cute!  The mugs and sherbets with pedestal were made at our former Ceramic Co., I copied the design from a Christmas fabric!   The tabletopper has been mine for  30 years, it looks old fashion...well?  My daughters were so little and they loved it, and now my grankids also chose this one, so I'm glad I've kept it for so long!

Look at these great cookies, aren't they?! The pretty red glasses are vintage from my mil too...and maybe for a little eggnog!
The cute angels and gold stars on the tablecloth.
The teapots were made at our past Ceramic Co. in the design of my formal Christmas dinnerware as it didn't come with teapots. I will make a formal Christmas dinner table with that china later on.
My breakfast room buffet with the German Christmas carousel, a present from hubby several years ago.
My mil's vintage French mirror with a wreath.  That's a cook book in back and it's called: Christmas From The Heart of the Home by:  Susan Branch... and it was a Christmas gift several years ago from my friend Stephanie, I always love to display it here come the Christmas season to check on the recipes for the Holiday season.
My lidded cheese plate  was a birthday present from mother's years ago. I love the little bear with a dress on which I bought several years ago. Most of my C'mas decorations I have kept them for many years, some already have memories.
My  Mil's antique in an Art Deco style English buffet, which was part of a four piece set of dining room furniture from her parents.  This is where I display my favorite things for the use of everyday through the Holidays  Season.

The pretty white linen napkin is beautifully hand-embroidered with a Christmas motif.  Here is a close up of the napkin.

Our breakfast room it's  all ready for the Christmas holidays.  I'm not the cluttered kind, but I love to change everything into Christmas items I can use, see and enjoy everyday until January 6th. which is the Three Kings Day and after this date I usually start to put away my Christmas decor and back to normal.
A better shot of our breakfast room. The door you see, next to another tea set,  leads to the kitchen.
This platter with cloche is for a dip and chips, or cheese dip and crackers and for the holidays I display cookies, chocolates and Christmas candy in it too.  The platter was also made at our former Ceramic Co.  My flowers are on a Bohemian crystal vase and I loved the red leaves!

I made this runner around 25 years ago when I used to sew and embroider, now I'm a blogger grandma!...it goes along with a big tablecloth I also made and embroidered for my formal dining table; I used them for many years in our Christmas day gatherings at my former house, where I used to have my father, my Fil and Mil and  my grandmother Stella, all passed away now, just wonderful memories.
My grandgirls Victoria 7 and Cayetana almost 5 in  January; are visiting us for a week as their parents went to Miami for a medical check up because my son in law has some back problems.  My daughter Sofia just made black Friday too and did some Christmas shopping, how great!  Well,  their little girls in the meantime are baking  ginger cookies with grandma and grandpa and so that inspired me to make a casual tablescape to later have some tea and cocoa with their cookies, along with hubby and the girls....we'll also have a little eggnog  in the vintage red glasses from their great-grandma.   I hope you like the first casual Christmas  table I created for  the girls and for us in 2011.

Thanking you my darlings in advance for your wonderful visits and generous comments.   I will also be joining some terrific parties and I'm thanking the lovely hostesses who welcome us every week!

Lots of hugs to you all,
FABBY

  3. Fabby- Everything is SOOO pretty. It is like I am visiting an old friend. My best friend here had a ceramic shop for many, many years. She made many beautiful pieces like you did..and from there went into making porcelain dolls. I have 3 or 4 of them that she gifted me with.

Your little girls are just so cute..love the look of determination on the face of the 4 year old "painting" her cookie!

I hope you have a wonderful Sunday- xo Diana

Everything is so darling and I adore the tablecloth!! But most precious are those sweet little girls, angels themselves!

And your buffet looks charming. I am such a sucker for the traditional Christmas colors of red and green. I love that you hung the wreath on your mirror. I do that in the Living Room.

Christmas with children is so special, isn't it? Both girls look so cute while decorating cookies. I can see that for Cayetana it is a serious job to decorate her cookies. She will get a good ceramic painter, too. Your ceramics are unbelievable pretty. I just love every pattern and so surely the Christmas pattern, too.

How festive everything is! I love your red stemware. What a wonderful treasure from you mil! I have a collection of redware I found when vacationing in Virginia. Whenever I find a piece at a thrift store I must buy it. My house does seem very full at Christmas. The only plus is that when I put it all away it feels quite clean and uncluttered. Fun times with your beautiful granddaughters. Happy holidays to you!
