Hello sweet friends!
I just found out Kathleen at her meme "Let's Dish" is having a purple themed tablescape for Fall this Wednesday; so I promptly came up with this setting, because I already had a 'purple' sort of Thanksgiving table idea for this year.
Here is my inspiration for Kathleen's party, plus, I love her tablescape challenges, I get such fun out of them and visiting around your beautiful settings as well.
Ok, here is my collaboration for "Let's Dish-Purple Autumn Table."
I used a 'purple scarf' for the under cloth and used on top, one that's very lacy, so it can reflect on the setting the purple from under better. |
I started setting the table with my purple chargers, white and gold Noritake dishes; purple Polish sherbet and water stems to match, along with German purple stems wine glasses. |
A high shot so you can see how my 'purple scarf' shows from under the lace tablecloth and picks up the hues from the purple glasses specially. |
NO ORANGE ! |
The purple compotes and water glasses are a set and I have them in pink too, I just fell in love with them a few years ago. |
Here I used gold candles from my C'mas stash to go with my 'gold Fall pumpkins.' |
The wine glasses have purple stems and are German. The water glasses are Polish and are a set with the sherbets and I also have them in pink as well. |
The cute water pitcher with purple flowers was my Mil's. |
Oh!...I did paint some pinecones too. |
I'm so happy this late afternoon is raining finally; there's much needed water in the river near my house that I love. |
When it stopped raining the color became gold, or it's a reflection of the gold painted pinecones, gourds and pumpkins...who knows! Thank you so much sweet ladies for dropping by for a lovely and kind visit, you always make my day! Thanking the wonderful hostesses for having me at their great parties...and specially to the ladies that support me by featuring me, I'm always so very grateful! At the end of this year I will mention your generosity. ReplyDeleteAbsolutely beautiful! Love the purple under the tablecloth and your stemware is gorgeous. Perfect for fall!
ReplyDeleteOh, Fabby, what a beautiful table! I love every bit of it but I find the lace table cloth with the purple shade underneath just ravishing!
ReplyDeleteYou keep amazing me my friend! Hugs.
Maria
Gorgeous table my friend! I saw some of those compotes at an antique store and I almost snatched them up but then I saw they had them priced like they were gold....so I am keeping my eye on them to see if they get marked down. I am quickly becoming a lover/stalker of polish glass. Wonderful table!!
ReplyDeleteOh Fabby, this table is so beautiful and elegant. I love the glassware, such a nice soft shade of amethyst.
ReplyDeleteThe gold gourds came out great...I have a basket that dried out last year, I know what I am going to do with them!
Have a wonderful week.
Dearest Fabby,
ReplyDeleteA very elegant table setting with 'raffinesse'!
Purple is one of my favorite colors but all I have are some purple and lilac Easter egg vases. Love the marriage between your Polish and German purple glasses; considering their history this looks very peaceful together at your table.
Enjoy the cooler days of the fall, rain changes the feel and we all love to get to the more cozy period.
Hugs,
Mariette
Beautiful table as usual, Fabby. I love the glasses and the purple tablecloth under a lace one. It came out so nice with the white plates....Christine
ReplyDeleteYour tablescapes are always so pretty! Love that purple glassware! Thanks for sharing this beautiful autumn table with us at the Creative Ways Link Party. Have a wonderful week!
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Nici
Oh, Fabby...this is so pretty! So, so sweet and pretty!!!
ReplyDeleteThat pitcher is just so unique! I love it! It is one that could be used year round (a feature I love in anything I might buy!), and it's so feminine. It works so nicely with the lacy overlay. The photos you took really show the fabulousness of putting that overlay on top of the purple scarf underneath! The purple comes through, but not in an overwhelming way. Beautiful!
The gold painted pumpkins are pretty! They bring a real Midas touch to the table!
You met the challenge!!!
Hi Dear Fabby! Oh, your table is simply gorgeous. I love the soft purple color of your glassware and the pitcher is lovely. Your golden pumpkins just set off your pretty table. Now the view out your window is stunning too! Wish I could sit down at one of your tables. Thank you for popping in to see my little kitchen.
ReplyDeleteBe a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
Very pretty! I really like the compotes and goblets, they are so beautiful! It has been so much fun seeing what everybody came up with for the purple challenge! Nice job!
ReplyDeleteKatherine
Fabby, the combination of the purple and gold is simply elegant. I love the painted pumpkins, gourds, and pinecones! Really make the gold edges pop. Your purple goblets are gorgeous! I think I have a total of two purple teacups and that's it. They are vintage and a friend gave them to me. I pull them out for Spring. I do love the pop of purple for Fall! Thanks for shairng with SYC.
ReplyDeletehugs,
Jann
Dear Fabby - you certainly rose to her challenge! I love how you put this all together. I don't own purple but had I not been absent I know I could have hopped over to my neighbor (the one whom I invite to tea and mention often on my posts) because she has lots of purples. Maybe next time.
ReplyDeleteFunny how all turned golden - warm and lovely - that centerpiece is an attention stealer for sure, gorgeous.
Have a wonderful weekend. Hugs.
In love with that last picture. So much warmth and elegance.
ReplyDeleteYou really pulled the effect wanted for the party; I would never figure gold and purple to go well together... sometimes people take a chance and they rule - that's what you did.
I also loved the simplicity in it. Thanksgiving should be about feeling blessed and grateful not being drowned in too much decor and details... I always remember this painting on the date - it shows what's important

And your setting a lovely homage.
Take Care,
T
