Hello sweet friends!
October-Fall is such a beautiful time of year and I have so many wonderful memories from growing up in Astoria-Queens in NY.
What I specially loved besides the beautiful weather, was the dry leaves in our Astoria Park, where we would go to play with my friends and jump and roll on top of the crunchy dry leaves...I loved the sound they made, such fun!
The weather here is like Fall, so I make believe it's a real 'Autumn Season,' plus is my birthday month, so yes, it's my fave time of year.
My grand girls are coming today to spend ten days with us on a school vacation they have, so I made this table setting with a sunflower theme, since Autumn is oficcially in the USA, now. Along with sunflowers, plates and placemats, which I know they're gonna love!
I know I will be very busy with sweet Victoria and Cayetana, so I created this setting for their lunch and for you, my dearest friends.
Happy October Fall, y'all !
Sunflowers, plates, and placemats. |
I was with Alejandro the other day buying a gift and he spotted these sunflower plates and said: 'look how cute;' so I in turn immediately purchased them, (that's what I understood he meant, lol!) |
A high shot! |
I had these pretty sunflower big napkins which now I decided to use them as placemats cause I think the G'girls are gonna love them! |
Multiple Choice dinner plates with yellow edges and sunflower salad plates. |
The English buffet all done up for October-Fall, 2014. |
The Italian amber stems are for the girls' orange juice; they love to play grown up..hehehe |
I arranged the small pumpkins and gourds on a small dough bowl I keep all year round with the fruit in the kitchen. |
The teacups are cute, they always seem to me as they have 'stitchings' around them! |
The vintage Dutch chairs always look good come Fall, cause they're in an orange velvet with brown leaves. |
You remember my new vintage French table hubby bought two months ago for our breakfast room. Before we had one with a lovely 'alabaster marble' top that we gifted our DD Alexandra and the friends that follow me probably saw it at my post of Alexandra's home when we visited her last month. NOTE: I just came back to tell you that the little girls totally loved the table, specially the sunflower plates...hehehe... Thank you so much sweet ladies for your kind and sweet visits, you always make my day! Thanking the lovely hostesses for having me at their great parties and a special appreciation and thanks for the supportive and wonderful hostesses that always feature my posts. Wow! Those sunflower plates are wonderful, especially with the black plates underneath. And I was thinking that perhaps your beautiful straw placemats would look nice with these place settings too. Your grand-daughters are very lucky to have such caring grandparents.
ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely table, Fabby!
ReplyDeleteFlowers for fall looks perfect on your table Fabby! Love the sunflower plate the most!
ReplyDeleteCalabazas y girasoles maduros marcan el comiezo del otño, pero además, sirven para engalanar tu mesa, dándole un toque muy particular y colorido.

Thank you so much for sharing this lovely fall tablescape with the sunflower dishes on Make It Monday. I know your g-girls were delighted.
ReplyDeleteFabby, my daughter would just go crazy for those plates.....how fun are they? I hope that you had fun dining at your lovely tablescape.

This sunflower table is perhaps my very FAVORITE table!! Or maybe it's the one I'm seeing NOW and that always seems to make the current table my FAVORITE one!! I absolutely LOVE sunflowers!!! When I pack away fall - I am going to keep all the sunflower things separate. I will store them in the front of the attic so I can use them next summer after I take down the patriotic theme.
ReplyDeleteI love how you go all out for your grandgirls!!
Dearest Fabby,
ReplyDeleteAlejandro does have a keen eye for spotting beautiful things! Lucky you and great that the grandgirls already do appreciate your beautiful things for the table.
Great settings and I also love the table and the chairs together.
Enjoy the fall.
Hugs,
Mariette

Good Afternoon Fabby, How wonderful to have your grand daughters staying with you for a while. I just know you are going to have so much fun together.
ReplyDeleteThe sunflower plates made me smile, as the day has been very grey here in England, so to see your "sunny" plates was a lovely treat.
Your table setting, as always, looks beautiful.
Have a wonderful time with your grand daughters.
Best Wishes
Daphne
So in love with this tablescape. Happy and Fun!
ReplyDeleteI saw sunflowers in the mall this weekend and couldn't help but smile... your tablescape did the same.
I like how you don't downplay elegance and tradition for the younger. That will teach them to be elegant and thoughtful as their mothers are.
Thank you for sharing,
Teresa

Gros bisous ♡
