Hello sweet friends!
My house is back to normal after the Christmas Holiday decor which was every where!
I've enjoyed a week where all is clean and now I'm very rested. Although it looks plain and colorless, I still like it, it's as it has grown and there's so much space now all over, specially in the den where the big tree was standing!
Here are some pics of our house clear of the holiday decor.
I loved this raised blue and white Oriental planter I found in the European Antique shop the other day. |
I do love blue and white, it's very elegant. and it pics up the blue in the vintage artwork that was my Mil's. All the blue also makes it look Wintery as well. |
Vintage English salad bowl. |
I'm storing some diet sugar in the small porcelain box. When I saw this bowl I immediately fell for it! |
The entrance had the Carolers and lots of C'mas decor. As you come in there's the foyer to welcome you to the rest of the house. |
The flooring is black and white marble. |
A close up of the planter which is raised on a removable pedestal to collect the water that may drip from the pot. The plant looks droopy cause it was just planted. |
The formal living room looks plain and colorless, but I'm glad the red and green situation is over! |
A view towards the formal dining room and breakfast area. |
Here you have it, a small tour of my house 'back to normal' after the Christmas Holiday decor. Thank you so much for your sweet and kind visits, you always make my day! When all the decorations are down and stowed away it's almost as though the house gives a sigh of relief - like the girl in the ballgown who returns home after a glittering night to kick off her beautiful shoes and curl up with a cup of tea.

ReplyDeleteI could spend all day looking at your lovely home!!! It could NEVER look 'bare' to me!!
ReplyDeleteIt is all gorgeous Fabby, you have such beautiful things and it is wonderful to let them shine on their own. Hugs, Marty

ReplyDeleteI think your home is always beautiful, Fabby...you have such a
ReplyDeleteknack for blending elegance and comfort together!! I love your new blue and white planter and the bamboo plant.....it is very pretty!! It is always a treat to get a glimpse of your home!!
Thank you for sharing!!
Love, Francy
Isn't it amazing how plain and drab everything looks once the tree and decorations are taken down.
ReplyDeleteYou do blue and white so well, Fabby.
Have a wonderful week.
You have a lovely home, Fabby, and your sense of style is impeccable! Have a great week! Dee :0
ReplyDeleteDearest Fabby,
ReplyDeleteEvery time I learn something from you and now I found out that Pieter owes me TWO blue & white planters...
Love your old one and very much so your new one. Your local antique store seems to have a wonderful and steady supply of great pieces! And you have great taste as everything looks so perfect together. You have an eye for matching the correct colors, materials, and above all sizes. Too often I see people putting together miniature things with e.g. very robust things.
Enjoy your back to normal state of your lovely home and have a great Sunday!
Hugs,
Mariette
Oh your house looks beautiful in any season Fabby. I love the your collection of blue and white pieces and your furniture and decor are exquisite. It is nice to have everything stowed away and the house refreshed.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week Fabby.
Everything is classically beautiful, especially with the blue & white . I love the bowl in the center of your table and the palms are perfect for the pot.
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean about getting back to normal after Christmas. I love decorating the whole house for Christmas, but it is such a relief to get back to "normal" when January rolls around.
With or without the Christmas Decors your home is always solo elegant and filled with lots of beautiful things that you obviously love that it makes it warm, inviting and definitely classy! Thanks for the tour tabby!
ReplyDeleteOh my heavens your floor!! I love it! Did it come with the house or did you have it put in? It's gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteHi Fabby,
ReplyDeleteYour house could NEVER look drab and dreary--not with all the beautiful blue and white items.
Thanks for sharing.
Have a Happy Blue Monday.
Such a lovely light home
ReplyDeleteYour home always looks beautiful, Fabby! I love your blue and white dishes and accessories, but maybe even more, I LOVE your black and white marble floor! My late mother-in-law had this throughout the first floor of her house and I've always loved that look. The closest I have is our bathroom which we re-did about 10 years ago. The floor is gray, but the walls are white tile with the small black diamonds. I am still in love with it.
ReplyDeleteYour home is beautiful and I don't think it looks bare or colorless! I love that pot you were given after your surgery and the new bamboo plant you found for it. Your home is elegant, refined and comfortable.
ReplyDeleteYour home is always lovely and quite fascinating ...before or after Christmas :)
ReplyDeleteVery nice, Fabby! I love all the blue and whites and your new planter is very pretty. It is so exciting to decorate for Christmas but refreshing to put it away lol. I have added some Asian chairs to my family room tea area, actually just moved them from the home office. Maybe I'll post it tomorrow night. You really have a beautiful home, Fabby....Christine
ReplyDeleteMy partner and I stumbled over here coming from a different page

ReplyDeleteI really love your blue and white dishes.
ReplyDeleteLoveyour blue and white but then you know that I'm a lover of blue and white but . . . that planter is like one I have -- estate sale find for $5. A few years ago when I was in England, there was it's twin -- at for 400 pounds (close to $600) It's a special planter!
ReplyDeleteYour blue and white is so pretty, Fabby. I like the bowl too; it's lovely. You do have a lovely home and thank you for the tour. Thank you for coming to tea and helping me to celebrate my Tea Party Anniversary. I'm always happy to have you! And Fabby, you have 'road' in my URL instead of 'door.' An honest mistake. *smiles* Have a lovely week, my friend.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Sandi
Fabby: Your home looks beautiful. You are right, it is hard to get rid of the Christmas color, however, it looks wonderful after it is all cleaned up. Have a great week. Blessings, Martha

You have some simply AMAZING pieces. I see you and I would be ewwing and ahhhing over the same blue and white pieces. I know what you mean about all the decor being put away. It does feel good after so much bling and glitter. :) Thanks for joining us at The Scoop. Be Blessed, barb
ReplyDeleteYes, back to 'normal' for us too---seems rather bare! Love your decor and furniture. Very elegant pieces. I like the blue and white dishes, too. Have a great week ahead, Fabby :)

ReplyDeleteYour house always looks beautiful with or without the Christmas decor Fabby! The new reticulated bowl and porcelain box are lovely and a perfect match to your Meissen tiered server. I just got done putting away all the Christmas things this past week end and I too am glad that the "red and green situation" is over at my house as well! LOL

It really is good to have our homes back to normal. It soothes the eyes to have a calm and restful environment once again. Your home is, as always beautiful.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE looking all around your house, Fabby! You have so many terrific decorative items to see!!! That new lucky bamboo plant looks great in that pot!
ReplyDeleteFor some weird reason I have been disconnected from many the people whose blogs I followed. The email alerts just stopped coming. I have to go over to that BLoglovin thing to see when people have posted which is terribly convenient. I've got to figure out how to get the email alert reactivated for your blog so I don't miss posts!
Have a wonderful week!
Your home looks serene, Fabby after Christmas! Love the blue and white dishes - especially that bowl! I do appreciate you sharing with A Return to Loveliness,
ReplyDeleteKathy

The house looks beautiful and you know how much I love blue! I used to have the lucky bamboo too, a gift, died after 3 years (mine lasted the longest accdg. to my friend). Don't you feel great breathing in and out on a clean home?! Have a great day Fabby!
