I have sixteen place settings of these pretty dishes and they are "Home Gallery- Fine China". |
I wanted for a while now to do my mantel for Fall at our den's fire place, but had zilch inspiration, until I started to spot some mantles in blog land and I really liked Susan's from BNOTP's last year's with ducks and books. Therefore, I used my Mil's vintage cooking books from the 40's and 50's on one side and on the other side a couple of books that were mine from when I was single, like Portnoy's Complaint..remember that one?
English vintage dog guarding the chimney..lol
I arranged a tray for tea.
The antique French bowl comes from hubby's great-grandparents, so it's easily one hundred years old. There's an engraving on them too and my Mil gave it to hubby as it has our initials too! We sure scored with this one!
A vintage Turkish folding chair with fox heads in the arms. The floor is marble and so is the chimney's green frame.
We love to spend time in our den on the weekends, as it's when we watch movies, or just TV. I'm usually blogging here so I can be with Alejandro, but I also read my latest book, etc.
You can see part of our counter bar at your left, as we have our den and living room quite together, so when we have more guest they can sit everywhere and mingle with everyone too.
Vintage cooking books that belonged to my Mil, along with the two antique bronze, church candle holders that my Mil gave me many, many years ago.
I arranged my Mil's antique French turquoise bowl with some fresh pumpkins and gourds, plus some faux leaves and flowers. Anyway, hope you liked it, as I am not good with vignettes..AT ALL!!
Thank you always, lovely friends for your wonderful and generous visits... they always make my day!
Thanks a lot to the fabulous ladies who hostess such fun and great parties each week.
Have a happy October, everyone!
LOVE,
FABBY
