Hello dear friends!
Our English buffet has fallen for sure, although our crazy weather in our neck of the woods is gotten warmer and sunny just like spring, as it should be around here, in the southern hemisphere. For almost a month we've been having cold fall weather, as you know it in the US.
I've been admiring beautiful tiers decorated for fall from my blog friends and from Pinterest, so I got inspired to do one in my silver three tier I had forgotten I had and it's a rectangular shaped one for some restaurants...the type that waiters carry to bring desserts to your table to choose from.
The antique English buffet came from my Mil's parents and from her, we have it now to take care of. This is our breakfast area. The tureen with a chicken and chicks on the lid, is part of the dishes I'm displaying in the buffet.
The runner is a brown crushed velvet with tassels at both ends. I usually use it on my Thanksgiving table.
I used this three tier stand to make my fall arrangement, it's also standing on a lazy-Susan plate, I use for making flower arrangements and for cake decorating...as I used it for decorating this tier too.
With small pumpkins, cute gourds, Indian corn and some dry leaves and flowers...and some fresh fruit.
I like the oil hurricane, I forgot I had!
I love this hurricane oil lamp, that was used at my niece's wedding, as part of her reception's dinner tables centerpieces.. she than gave us aunts, one each.... the bottom of the lamp is with oil and if you touch the top of the wick as it exits the top of the burner and it looks moist, the lamp is ready to be lit. The mud duck is Chinese.
The brown transferware plate is, Maestricht, Old Bridge, from Holland.
I used my special, hand made and hand decorated tea set, from our former Ceramic Co., Monte Turi and designed by me, inspired in the indigenous people's apparel. The lids in the creamer and sugar bowl have a little duckling in each.
We will be visiting our daughter Alexandra for her birthday next week, so I will be slowly dropping by to visit you all too...but I definitely will!
I'm thanking you all in advance, sweet friends, for all the wonderful and kind comments you always leave me.. they so make my day!
Thanking all the lovely and gracious hostesses for the terrific parties, as I will be joining the fun.
LOVE,
FABBY

ReplyDeleteI really like the bright "fall-ish" colors you've combined in your usual bold & beautiful manner.
ReplyDeleteI hope to be delving into the basket that holds our autumn decorations to figure out a new mantel arrangement. I'll return here to get some inspiration!
The tiered tray is unusual and perfect for your vignette..
Fabby- How very, very beautiful. You have such a wonderful eye and you have the beautiful pieces to work with, too. Absolutely lovely, as always! xo Diana
ReplyDeleteHi Fabby! Oh, Fall looks so good in your beautiful home! I love your tiered piece filled with Fall things and those pieces of pottery are fabulous with the little animals as the handles. You've got everything looking so pretty.
ReplyDeleteBe a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
Fabby, this is just exquisite! The tea service is stunning and I love that duck too! Have fun with your family. XO, pinky
ReplyDeleteDearest Fabby,
ReplyDeleteYou scared me with your title as I thought your buffet had collapsed with lots of china ware on it...
Thank goodness; that's not the case!
What a surprise to find here a piece from my Province of Limburg, from the Capital City of Maestricht. Old language, it is called Maastricht now, where the Treaty of Maastricht was held for the European Communion.
From the same collection I got the blue transfer ware, Boerenhoeve, from my Mother in law.
Hugs to you,
Mariette
Fabby,
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for your visit and comment. You have been busy. Love the tiered tray!
Fabby, I love your rectangular tiered stand. It looks so pretty all decorated for Fall. Your tea set is exquisite and I'm loving the duck and the brown transferware plate. Have fun celebrating your daughter's birthday.

Hi Fabby,
ReplyDeleteThis looks terrific! I can't wait to welcome fall to our home. I, too, have been admiring the tiered serving pieces decorated for the season. I'm planning to do the same thing here when I start my fall fluffing. Your addition of the leaves and dried flowers is sooo pretty.

ReplyDeleteHi Fabby,
ReplyDeleteMariette's comment made me laughing, because that was exactly my first thought. But my English is not so good and therefore I midunderstood your title in thee beginning. But when I saw your decoration, I knew what you meant. Your fall decoration is wonderful. And the colorful china is so nice with all the pumpkins. Thank you for sharing this fabulous decoration.
Best greetings, Johanna
What a festive fall decoration. LOVE that hurricane lamp!

Dear Fabby....I thought your buffet had collasped also when I read your first sentence!! And I went, "Oh, NO!" because I wondered if it collapsed from maybe all the things you put on it!! LOL I am so happy it was a play on words!!`
ReplyDeleteBut you are correct, the buffet has "fallen" and is just lovely with everything you used. The china
is of course gorgeous and I think your tiered centerpiece is great! You are so clever to lift it higher with your pedestal. All of the fruit and veggies, and pumpkins are so pretty in the arrangement and I love the mud duck and transferware. You have out-done yourself again with this exquisite fall arrangement. Thank you for sharing it with us.
I am sorry I am behind in leaving comments on the past three or so posts, but I had to rest my wrists because of carpal tunnel problems. I write too much! LOL..I am better today!
