Wishing everyone a wonderful St. Patrick's Day, as if I was still living in NY, I will be celebrating among all my friends..the ones Irish and the ones, like me, who are not! I remember all the fun, as Astoria-Queens was an Irish-Italian neighborhood while I was growing up and now it's Greek! I'm having a little luck of the Irish for making this table to celebrate St. Patty's Day, as my china has "shamrocks" decorated in it, and was made back at our Ceramic Company. My inspiration for designing this pattern are the blouses of the Indigenous women of this area, Cuenca-Ecuador, where they have shamrocks embroidered in the ends of the sleeves!..I wonder if they just did it for the luck, as we believe a four leaf-clover found is the biggest luck!..anyway, I love shamrocks, with 3 or 4 clovers. Happy St. Patty's to all you darlings!!
I will be joining that Irish lass, Kathleen, at Let's Dish; she's having this great challenge Wednesday-March 13, 2013. I will also be joining other wonderful ladies that host exciting parties as well...I'm sure everyone will have great posts for St. Pat's honor. Hope you show us your greens, too and join the fun!
My greens in honor of St. Patty's Day. |
I placed my reticulated chargers with the salad plates and sherbets, as this china has shamrocks in most pieces. |
I took this shot from inside my kitchen. |
The big round platter has some "lucky Irish coins!" |
The platter with shamrocks and lucky chocolate coins. I use this piece, with shamrocks in the finials; as a creamer, for milk, as a gravy boat and even for pancake syrup, as it has a peak too. |
You can see from here the wide strips of green in the "vintage silk Italian tablecloth. |
The friends that have followed me lately, know that I got this green goblets on an after C'mas sale and I loved them for St. Patty's too! |
Here you can appreciate the shamrocks in the sherbet and the plate. The shamrocks in the napkin rings was DIYed by me, lol.. |
I DIYed the shamrock on the napkin rings. I used my lace cream color napkins, as to match the reticulated ivory-cream chargers. Lots of greens on this side of the silk tablecloth. |
I also got this great long dome in the same after C'mas sale, where I got the green goblets. The teacup has a pumpkin shape. |
The pretty Venetian green with gold vintage water glasses, with the white part embossed.. I just got them last month, among red ones too; as one of my 38th. Anniversary gifts from Alejandro. |
I also added to the flowers, some deliciously scented white Jazmin, from our condo's garden. (the Mr. is not liking the smell of them, lol) |
Some fresh made bread from the store to have with our tea, or coffee, cheese and marmalade...yummy! |
I tell ya..if I wasn't that short, (5'2) I'd take better shots with more altitude! |
The reticulated hurricanes here, also came with my set of 12 complete place settings of these dishes. The chandy is Venetian antique from the 20's. |
Here you have it..my table scape in honor of St. Patrick's Day, the "Patron Saint of Irland"...and of course, may you all have a "happy and lucky St. Pat's Day", whether you are Irish or not. HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY TO YOU ALL! LOVE, FABBY Thank you my sweet and kind friends for your wonderful comments, as you always make my day!
