Remembering our 40th. Anniversary Gift

Hello dear friends !

Last February 25th. we celebrated our 45th. Anniversary and were remembering our 40th. Anniversary and how 'all seven siblings' and spouses were at a fun dinner party, and we had such a great time all of us together and was held at our home.

Sadly, we now are one 'less brother,' since my husband's dearest older brother died due to a severe cancer on his tongue, last January 13th.; so there was no party this year, we were very distraught still.

In February 25, 2015, we celebrated our 40th. anniversary with a luncheon we held at our home. We then were all seven siblings complete and us the spouses.

As a "bonus" also attended the 'Shindig,' Meredith Fulton, who is my husband's and his siblings, "American sister" who was in the early 60's an exchange student here and their own sister instead, went for a year to Meredith's house in Maryland.

They've had a wonderful relationship forever, as she also married a dear cousin of my husband's. He died a while ago and she is also re-married.

We were so lucky she coincided on a visit to the family so we were so lucky to have her for the celebration as well. It was an unforgettable time at our home and thus, a very special chinaware for us.

Such fond memories, that fill my heart and at the same token make me shed a tear or two. Specially because of this troubling and unprecedented situation of uncertainty we, as a world, are facing.

Anyway, to make a story shorter...they were all so kind to give us this gorgeous Oriental china with lots of pieces and here in my tablescape is just about three quarters of it.

My Sister in Law knew we both love blue and white, so they picked this beauty for us.

They didn't remember 'the looks' of their gorgeous gift to well; so I created a tablescape so they can see it on display.
and to share it with you.

Hope after all this sad situation ends, we can get together and I can use it with them.

May God bless, our families and the world.

Here it is paired with 'transferware' dinner plates, as it didn't come with dinner plates, except lots of shallow bowls and soup bowls and of course, some serving pretty pieces... cause, as you all know, orientals don't eat different foods in one plate as we do in the West.

I so enjoyed creating this spread for you, while in self imposed "quarantine."

Here is the beautiful china we have from our dear siblings to remember our 40th. Anniversary back in 2015.

Mr. Living and me simply love it !

Each piece is see thru 'bone-porcelain.'

I placed a 'cobalt blue' charger that was made for us back at hubby's Ceramic Co.

'Liberty Blue, Staffordshire' dinner plate. I've use it with red Oriental dinner plates before as well.

The Oriental soup bowl with a lid is to set it aside to place a salad, rice or noodles.

At your right, in the back, it's a pretty tea mug with lid as well.

I just decided upon placing just the porcelain soup spoon. I didn't have enough Japanese chopsticks for eight places, so I didn't place any other utensils.

I love this pretty planter. Since I don't go out at all, I didn't have flowers, so I used the pretty pot and plant.

I really loved how the stack came out. If life ever goes back to normal and I make a dinner party, I think I'll use it like this.

Praying everyday for a cure and a vaccine.

I have hope it will happen soon from the Grace of God...

The tea pot is adorable. It also came with the china.

The ginger jar is from my 'Dutch Delft' garnishing set.

At your right there's another style teapot, my mother gifted me for my birthday several years ago and it's perfect for the set as well.

There are four serving bowls with porcelain big spoons for the service.

My choice for a tablecloth was this gorgeous lace 'Belgium' one I had bought so many years ago for my eldest daughter Alexandra's ''First Communion.'
Under it I placed a simple blue topper.

To continue the Blue and White at the side table, breakfast room. Using my gold bunnies for the season and to cheer me up.

Thank you so much dear friends for your kind comments, you always make my day !

Thanking the lovely hostesses for their great parties.

English Tea While in "Quarantine:"

Hello sweet friends !

Yes, I mean it !

We are in "self imposed quarantine" keeping indoors and not going out for any reason.

Here, in our town, Cuenca-Ecuador, everyone is and since Mr. Living and I are over 65, might as well be very careful.

While indoors I decided I will set a 'Tea Time Afternoon' for the two of us, but added two more places for the blog pictures.

I also baked for my daughter Alexandra, Sergio and our Máxima 4, who live in the building in front of ours... a 'Walnut Carrot Cake' we all love.

Of course there's also mother, who now is living in the floor under ours, plus her caretaker, so I don't eat, gobble the entire cake by myself, lol...

Please keep safe, calm and pray a lot this 'pandemic' is over soon and some country finds a cure.

Ok, with that said.

This table was assembled as follows :

1- Layers of lace under cloth and on top a small one crocheted by my sweet mom for a small coffee table she had. Finally...
2- Quilted placemats gifted to me by my daughter Sofia for Christmas a few years ago.
3- China by "Wawel made in Poland" and was a gift by my mom several years ago. This china was also from the 60's and saw it around while growing up too.

I love the tin with 'Queen Elizabeth II...' young and now.
'English Breakfast Tea.'

Here I took out the  small cake plate so to admire the pretty dinner plate. All are rimmed with silver for a change.

I chose daughter Sofia's quilted placemats because they have an 'Oriental motif' with light blue "Pagodas" and thought perfect to pick up the dainty blue flowers from the Polish 'Wawel' china.

My dearest dad, while washing it, had broken the original teapot that was adorable and so my mother used this tall one that blends nicely with the tea set and teacups and saucers.

I love the shape of the teacups, sugar bowl and creamer, so you can just imagine how beautiful the teapot must've been.

Homemade jam

'Walnut Carrot Cake' was baked to eat with some delish English tea.

Little pops of Spring-Easter here.

Thank you for coming to visit me and for your sweet comments, you always make my day !

Thanking the lovely ladies that host such terrific parties too.

Happy St. Patrick's Day !

Hello sweet friends !

When I was growing up in Astoria-Queens, NY it was an Irish and Italian neighborhood mostly and of course the Irish friends celebrated St. Patrick's Day, not only wearing green, but in the Irish pubs, the food etc.

Then some other days the Italians were celebrating St. Gennaro's Day and so I grew up wearing green and wearing buttons of "Kiss me I'm Irish."

Some other times we were celebrating St. Gennaro's and another Saint, I forget which name, lol...right in the neighborhood near my house, where they closed the street and there were great things to do and wonderful Italian food as well. Anyway, what I want to explain is that St. Pat's Day is very familiar to me and it brings me so many memories from my school days and even "my first bo" at 14 was Irish and his name was Bobby Riley, lol...

Wishing you dear Irish friends and everyone else too, as it is almost an all American festivity.

This is a complete dinner china, hand decorated back at our own Ceramic Co. inspired in the embroidered cloths of the indigenous Ecuadorian men's shirts and cuffs with 'Shamrocks' therefore is my St. Pat's celebration china.
Here I used another green dinner plate so the shamrock salad plate will be at centerstage.

Here I combined the shamrock dinner plate with another pattern in green soup bowl.

In this image I placed the teacups and saucers as well.

Luck of the Irish !

Another combo using some pieces from my reticulated creamware.

Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone !

Thank you for your sweet comments, you always make my day !

Thanking the lovely hostesses for their great parties.

FABBY

Anticipating Spring with Blue-White, Fruits & Flowers

Hello sweet friends !

I've been having some wonderful visits and guests at home. My daughter from Madrid, her husband and Maxima four and baby Leonela 4 months old are here and so was my daughter Sofia, Victoria 15 and Cayetana 13, the teenagers... plus baby Alonso 1 and 3 months old.  So you can just imagine !

I haven't been able to look at my blog one day till now that daughter Sofia went back home with her brood, lol...

My dear mom is doing better and last year she gave me these pretty blue and white placemats she had and never used. So they inspired me to make an 'anticipated blue and white Spring tablescape.'

Wishing you all dear friends very safe days ahead,  what with this "Corona Virus" situation around the world, all we can do is pray for all of us and our families, as well as the rest of the world and the countries most affected.

May God bless us all !

I arranged this table with my Blue Danube-Onion china, Hutschenreuther in blue and white, because of the blue and white placemats mother gifted me.

As I explained at the beginning of this little post, that my sweet mom gave me this beautiful blue and white placemats for six place setting, therefore this table is arranged for six as well.
Last December mother was 90 and while I was taking out a tablecloth for her luncheon, I came across the placemats to which I said how pretty they were. Mother without hesitation just gave them to me and claimed she will never use anything like that anymore.

The salad bowl that belongs to my Onion china, hubby's favorite china and one of my fav as well.

Here you can appreciate the lovely blue and white placemats that were my inspiration for this "anticipated Spring table."

The two tier piece with the fruit is Meissen. One of my precious things I own.

I brought out the cute napkin rings because of the butterflies for the blue Spring setting.

I also arranged one of the buffets in pink tones for Spring too.

I'm loving my two gold faceted bunnies, gift of my best friend last Christmas.

We always need a coffee station for after dinner.

I arranged the coffee setting in this particular corner since it is all blue and white wall plates and big planter.

With that said. I'm so happy to have made this table, I was so enthused been that I love tablescaping and it's accessories.

Wishing you all dear friends very safe days ahead,  what with this "Corona Virus" situation around all the world, all we can do is pray for all of us and our families, as well as the rest of the world and the countries most affected.

Thank you dear friends for your kind comments, you always make my day !

Thanking the lovely hostesses for your great parties.

LOVE,
FABBY
