FABBY: A Simple Lace Tablescape

Hello sweet friends!

I am joining Kathleen's at Let's Dish for her new challenge...a NEW table with NO Easter!

My table setting is simple, inspired in the lovely lace-cut work tablecloth, which I haven't used it yet and bought on sale last year sometime.

The reticulated chargers and teacup-saucers; my mother's lovely vintage aqua 'French Limoges' set of dishes and lace napkins to close this 'simple lace table scape.'

I hope you like it!

My inspiration for this table scape is this lovely lace cut work tablecloth I bought on sale last year.

Therefore, along with mother's French Limoges dishes she gifted me several years ago...I used reticulated chargers, lace napkins and the reticulated teacups and saucers, instead of the aqua ones.

The fresh bouquet of flowers I bought today in the grocery store for $. 1,15.
The etched stems are Viennese and I used only the wine ones, so to keep the setting in the 'ethereal side.'

I love the center lace in the cloth.

The Limoges dishes are aqua and ivory, (not white).

I adore fresh flowers and always have them at my house to cheer me up and enjoy them.

Alejandro gave me this past February for our 39th. Anniversary this gorgeous 'Fleur De Lys' Portuguese pitcher, which I can't seem to stop using it with flowers, lol!

The stack of dishes and ivory flatware to match, except the light made them appear yellow !

The napkins are ivory with lace too, as are the lacy saucers in the teacups.
The napkin rings are wooden animal print.

Here you have it, my contribution to "A new Tablescape for LET'S DISH" at,  http://www.cuisinekathleen.com

Thank you so much for visiting me dear friends, you always make my day!

Thank you Kathleen and the other hostesses for having me at their great parties.

LOVE,
FABBY

FABBY: Easter Sunday Blessings!

Hello sweet friends!

"Christ the Lord is risen to-day,"
Sons of men and angels say.
Raise your joys and triumphs high;
Sing, ye heavens, and earth reply.
(Charles Wesley)

"HAPPY AND BLESSED EASTER TO ALL OF YOU AND YOURS"

I created this new vignette on my antique English buffet for the Easter season.
'Blue Danube' platter standing in the backdrop.

Vintage Dutch pewter teaset with tray.  Polish teacups with birds.
I saw the movie "The Son of God" Saturday and I cried the entire time until sweet Jesus got killed in the cross and resuscitated! The actor who portrayed Jesus was soo sweet, you thought you were looking at the real Messiah !

Then on Easter Sunday, after mass, we went in the evening to see "Noah," the movie and it was such an ugly disappointment...and grim movie! Noah was portrayed as a 'psychopath'...it seemed to me!

I didn't like it at all, as the real Noah in the Bible was not like this man in the movie!

'My humble reviews, lol!'

Have a wonderful week ahead and may our Lord Jesus Christ, who has risen to save us, guide us and care for us.... bless you and your homes always.

Thank you for your wishes and comments, you always make my day.

Thanks to the lovely hostesses for having me at their great parties, too.

FABBY: Easter Table for Six

Hello sweet friends!

My Easter 2014 table for six is inspired in a small dinner party I had last night with Alejandro's two brothers and their wives; to reciprocate them for inviting us to their home for this last Valentine's.

I had never used my collection of English blue and white transferware dishes with them, and so they loved the table in their honor...and of course the food.

I'm inspired now so this will be perfect for this "Easter Sunday" coming, as I added some more bunnies to it as well.

May our 'Lord Jesus Christ our Savior' bless each and everyone of you and your families and may you have a very happy 'Easter Sunday 2014.'

Here you have it...my 2014 Easter table setting. I love blue and white transferware for every season!

A LladrĂ³ rabbit at your left and at your right a couple of ceramic boxes with rabbits sitting on top.

The couple of ceramic boxes with rabbits sitting on top are so cute.

The LladrĂ³ bunny.

I'm kind of liking the two hand decorated Dutch-Delft flower vases, 'with flowers,' since the last time I posted a tea table I had NEVER put flowers in them before...very strange of me!

Cobalt blue chargers from our past ceramic Factory.

This pretty reticulated fruit bowl is Polish and it has the famous 'Onion Pattern.'

Again I used the embroidered linen triangle my mom gifted me and so in this place set I didn't use a placemat.
Reed & Barton flatware from Bloomingdale's from Orlando, last year.

On the part with the bear table I used this pretty gold placemats, to enhance the blue in the charger.

I just added this bouquet of stunning red roses my Bil and his wife sent me thanking me for the dinner party. They are from his professional Rose Farm-Altaflor.

Antique crystal water pitcher with blue dimond shaped insets.

HE has risen...our LORD JESUS CHRIST  has risen to save us and guide us our lives through the correct path.

Many blessings to you and yours my lovely friends.

Blue glass rhinestones napkin rings I bought last year while I was in Orlando with the G'girls.

Blue water goblet and German purple wine glasses.

In the side buffet is my red English tea service, all set for dessert and tea after dinner.

I'm specially using my collection of the blue transferware, as I haven't share them with my 'in laws siblings' and they liked them very much and brought Alejandro and his brothers memories of their grandparents as they owned a set of 'Blue Willow' for 24 place settings.

I have no clue as what happened to them and neither did they...I should ask someone!

Thank you so much wonderful friends for visiting me as you always make my day!

Thanking the lovely hostesses for having me at their great parties.

HAPPY EASTER AND LOVE

HAPPY PALM SUNDAY TO YOU, MY SWEET FRIENDS AND MANY BLESSINGS FOR THE HOLIEST OF WEEKS.

When Jesus entered Jerusalem, the whole city was stirred and asked, “Who is this?”  The crowds answered, “This is Jesus, the prophet from Nazareth in Galilee.”

FABBY: Welcome to my Living Room

Hello sweet friends!

Welcome to my living room, have a seat please.

"Aubusson Oriental hand made silk rug."

I will be joining Alyson at the THE POLO HOUSE Link up Challenge: "DECORATING WITH ORIENTAL RUGS"
I did some small tweaking in my living room to freshen it up for Spring...not that it's so Spring like, either is it great, but I'm one that loves the dining room because that's where I get to do what I love the most, which are dishes, therefore, tablescaping...so I tend to neglect my living room, I always think of it in terms of 'guests' only, lol!

Now I changed the small things in the coffee table and the 'four end tables' I have around it.

Here it is, I always hope you like it my friends!

I copied this great marble coffee table from an 'Architectural Digest' Magazine of Interior Design from an article they had on Francoise Sagan's apartment in the Paris's west bank... the famous French writer.
I fell for it hard and Alejandro had it reproduced for me!

The French bronze boy is an antique, turn of the last century, is marked and all, as are the bronze dogs at your right.

I love this pretty reticulated dishes I recently acquired for candy. I keep them with chocolates and Candy, took them out so you can appreciate the pretty lace in them.

Vintage French bombé end table at your right.

The fabric of the upholstery in the two couches is an Italian pure silk brocade.

I placed the fringes on the couches and also the tassels, myself; several years ago.

At left a vintage French girl with sheep, vintage porcelain dogs and a small Oriental jar.

The left vintage French Bombé end table with an antique lamp that was from my Mil's wedding more than 70 years ago.

Here is an antique, turn of the last century, French bronze figure of a jockey boy, German made dogs and a vintage French boy playing the flute.

Another vintage small and pretty end table next to this comfy chair.
I won the tiny table as my Mil had two of this antique things, so me and another Sil won the other; after she died.

I just came back to explain that the small Oriental screen, on top of the small end table that looks like it's painted; no,no, Nanette, as our friend Shelia would say... is made of 'white Chinese lacquer' and embossed 'jade figurines' and it is from the 1960's.

The pretty Cala in a basket painting was made by Alejandro's quite famous uncle who was an artist in Washington DC and Madrid. We have three lovely paintings from Luis Crespo Ordoñez.
Some of you know me by now; so back then I also decided that this small space needed a little side table too, therefore, I asked Alejandro if he can have one ordered in the same 'travertino marble' to match the coffee table and with the same lines as the coffee table and he immediately obliged!

Both tables in the travertino marble were made here in Cuenca-Ecuador, as there are great marbles in this area of the country.
Please disregard the lamp cord, but, don't know how to hide it for the moment.

With this one you've seen all four end tables I have around the living room.

The Art Nouveau bronze mirror, with mother of pearl was Alejandro's grandma... easily over 100 years old!

As you go to your right, passing by my grandma's antique black Viennese cane chair and the Antique Oriental 'canphor trunk,' ... is the door out...but I don't want you to go yet !

I reupholstered the chair at your right about a year and a half ago, with this pretty check fabric in pale green and yellow, to blend it with the couches and Chippendale chairs.

Before it was of a lovely green Italian silk fabric which our beloved 'Pug Ben' ruined it sleeping and scratching it, lol!

I love the Oriental Chippendale chairs! Alejandro gave them to me for my 40th. birthday, along with the dining room set.

The foyer in the background and the dining room in the foreground.

Thank you for coming wonderful friends, your visits always make my day!

Thanking the lovely and gracious hostesses for having me at their great Parties!

FABBY
