FABBY: Hotel-Hacienda Uzhupud

Hello sweet friends!

We went to spend a couple of days at this gorgeous Hotel-hacienda, Uzhupud, in Cuenca-Ecuador.. about one hour from town. Originally it belonged to Alejandro's grandparents and he and his siblings grew up there, going to spend summer vacations every year.  Now it's turn into a beautiful place to stay,  and it's in his older brother's hands and he and his dear wife keeps the lovely hacienda in it's glory..with huge gorgeous surroundings and stunning grounds, along with fabulous rooms, full with antique furniture and stunning decorations. Another time I will do a tour of it entirely, as my home-made photos doesn't do justice to this magnificent place. Now I will post some photos of our trip there with the G'girls, which is a must to do, when they come to visit us, lol.

You can also go into their page which is, "Hacienda-Hotel UZHUPUD" and check it out with professional looking photographs.

I love the colors of the bougainvilleas. There were so many stunning blooms of all kinds all around. Artistic vegetable gardens,  which are consume internally in their kitchen. The food is also fabulous and the spring weather, delicious, dry 75 -80 and sunny!

This is the back of the Hacienda, with all the mountain views and all. The suit we chose is right in the middle of it with the great balcony, just up the stairs you see in the photo.

Most of the architecture is from Alejandro's grandparents time, just as Spanish haciendas are.

My darling girls..Victoria and Cayetana.

Alejandro with us girls.
Victoria with her horse riding helmet.

Cayetana is ready too!

A boat ride with grandpa, in the lake.

The girls in an antique carriage, having so much fun!

Good night!!

We had a fabulous view of the mountains from the balcony of our room.

Hope you liked our stay at such beautiful place, as Hotel-Hacienda Uzhupud is, although my pictures doesn't do justice to the fabulous place it is. Maybe you'd like to check it out and visit the professional photos the owners have of the place..just go on Uzhupud. com

Thanks a ton for your sweet and kind visits my dear friends, as you always make my day!

I will be joining some terrific parties and one in particular, which is new and dear Alma, The Tablescaper hosts and it's an exciting party about sharing our past and present trips. You can join her every Thursday evening.

FABBY: Tea Time with my G'girls

Hello sweet friends!

Alejandro and me we've been so lucky lately to be having such fun time with our little girls, Victoria 8 1/2 and Cayetana 6, which will be spending their Spring brake with us. They are so smart and have grown in many ways so much; they even take pictures with their Mini-Ipad to send to their parents, of every lunch, dinner, baking, etc...almost like me, lol..  We talk a lot and have fun conversations, I know some of you know what I mean, as children this age are so fast about their own thinking and explanation of things...they're so entertaining and we even learn so much from them! I'm very busy, but extremely happy. I can't believe they're already visiting us ten days..and we have until next Saturday, when my daughter Sofia will take them back home.

My little girls are such joy, that I enjoy baking with them and having tea time; of course, in their own children's tea set, grandma-'Abe', (that's what they call me) keeps for them. Ok, here we are..

Here is the children's tea set and in the back it says 'Hartin' and a little flower, like. There's no mention to where it was made. I bought it last year and it was $15...ca't beat it!

Victoria and Cayetana chose the tablecloth, the tea napkins in yellow and the flatware. They also didn't want bunnies, lol...they chose doggies, as they love them more than any other animal in the whole wide world..heheheee..

The little bundt cakes didn't come out that pretty, caz 'Abe' filled the little pans a bit too much and so they spilled; but, they were yummy anyway!

The pattern it's so cute, with a mother and her little girl riding a bike, along with their doggie. Happy Mother's Day is written all over the pieces, which I thought it was so sweet!

The floppy little cakes, lol..
Some little cheese sandwiches in pita brown bread.

I loved the little tray that came with the set, which follows the daisies in the tea set.
The little teacups are so sweet.

Cakes and doggies.

Victoria pouring herself some honey and chamomile tea.

Three ladies enjoying an afternoon tea.  oops!..look at my eye glasses..

Thank you sweet friends for visiting us and for always making my day!

I'm also very grateful to the gracious ladies that host such great parties.

LOVE,
FABBY

FABBY: New Gorgeous English Tea Pot!

Hello sweet friends!

The other day I went by the window of the European shop and dropped dead!...Ok, no I didn't die, but had the need to go inside and buy the gorgeous tea pot I had seen! Isn't she just to gorgeous? It just says: made in England, in the same white porcelain, so you can hardly see it...anyway, I didn't care what it said, I just totally loved it and mother seconded me on my purchase, since we were together...and here she is!

My granddaughters, 8 and 6 will be staying with us for two weeks, therefore, be patient and be sure that I will  visit you and leave you comments, even if it takes me somewhat longer! Thank you my dear friends for understanding.

My daughter Sofia came for the long weekend herself and to drop off the G'girls for a couple of weeks to spend with us. Therefore, the new teapot will contain hot chocolate  for us four, (the girls will use pretty children's mugs), along with some Madeleine French cookies, I made for them. One side of the tea pot has hand decorated vessels.

The other side has hand decorated English soldiers... and maybe they're arriving in American shores?..lol

The peak has a gold lion's face..or something I'm not sure what it is yet.

I did a small setting for the hot chocolate with the Madeleines and the two Polish teacups my daughter Alexandra gifted me two birthdays ago.

On one side the teacups have yellow birds and in the other, blue ones.
Here you can appreciate the pretty blue birds on one side of the teacups.

The other side of the pretty teacups with the yellow birds.

My small setting is done in our alabaster breakfast table.
The Madeleines are yummy and the recipe is from Martha Stewart.

The friends that have followed me know I bought in January lots of sale things, among them, the Madeleine-pan.

The English soldiers in the "American shores...hubby made the joke..hehee..I'd love it if I knew it was a certain thing!

The hand decorated English vessels. As you can see, I am in love with the darn teapot! Hope you liked it too.

Thank you so much my friends for stopping by and always making my day.

I also appreciate the wonderful ladies that host some great parties!

LOVE,
FABBY
