FABBY: Mother's Tea Party

   Hi my friends!
I just sneaked at my 82 year old mother's house just to take some pics as she's having a tea party tomorrow with her school friends, lol!  Anyhow, she had set her table already with the set of dishes in blue and white, which were a gift from us several years ago for Mother's Day and they were also designed by me at  our former Ceramic Co. We also gave my MIL a set too, but now I have it...in a multi color. The blue and white design came from the indigenous people from the northern region of Ecuador's apparel, like blouses, skirts and even men's shirts.
I also took  photos of some parts of mother's home. Hope you like my post of Mother's Tea Party.  Thank you for your lovely visits, I just love it when you come over and I so appreciate it very much.

Thank you lovely ladies that host the terrific parties I can't wait to link to every week... and for having me.

She had paired the blue and white dishes, with a pink linen and rose-pink roses, this enables me to join Beverly's great Pink Saturday Party.  The dishes were made back at our Ceramic Co.
Mother is going to serve ice-cream topped with walnuts in the sherbets and later cake, small sandwiches, cookies and other sweets.  If you like there's a little bit of history about this design...not much, on the beginning of this post.

The beautiful runner was made by mother several years ago and she also made a larger one for me, as my dining table is a bit larger than her beautiful Queen Ann dining set.
Behind the curtains there's a balcony with a great view.
My mother likes putting some grapes and berries in the bowl you see here, with two handles. You can see that it's a sieve as well, for small fruit, difficult for drying individually, so the water that's left just drips all by itself in the under plate.
I love her china cabinet, it's so beautiful. The open door at the right side of the photo leads to her kitchen.
Mother in her pretty living room...I kind of forced her to pose, lol!
This beautiful antique piece is Meissen and the cherub on the carriage is the handle of the lid.
This is another beautiful antique piece and it's a Volksted Porcelain-Germany.
I asked my mother to lend me the dinner plate so you can see it, as she wasn't using it except as serving pieces for her tea party tomorrow, so here it is.
In the salad plate mother will be serving her guests, cake and other yummy things.
In the cute sherbet she's going to serve them ice-cream with walnut garnishing. The teacups are a little bigger than the standard cups, for hot chocolate or coffee, as well.

My mother's kitchen is quite large and comfortable. She does entertain her friends a lot, sometimes she has high teas for up to 18 ladies. I usually give her a hand when there is to many guests.
She has a beautiful view from her 4th. floor apartment.

In the peninsula is were her great-grands have Christmas and Mother's Day lunch, as she always makes a wonderful luncheon for us.  Hope you liked my post on Mother's Tea Party.

FABBY: Anniversary Breakfast Table

My inspiration for this breakfast table is our Anniversary of 37 years of a very happy marriage with my wonderful husband. We were married in Las Vegas, Nevada on February 25th., 1975. Since we love special weekend breakfasts and our Anniversary is tomorrow Saturday, Feb. 25th., I decided to set a special table for us.  Hope you like my first breakfast table.

I paired the egg cups and the other dishes in green and white made at our former Ceramic Co. and the design was the original decoration Spaniards first made 200 years ago, which inspired me to design this dishes...with some reticulated, or lace like dishes from my complete set of twelve.
The tea set, which in this case it will be for coffee. There's a roos on the teapot as this is how Spaniards made them in the colonies era.  For some new friends I also designed 13 more sets of dishes inspired on the indigenous women's of Ecuador beautiful embroidered attire, skirts, blouses and shawls.
The reticulated dinner plate with the green and white salad plate. The small bowl is for the fruit salad., sometimes we like it with some yogurt on top and walnuts.
A shot up high. The table topper is a cotton plaid I have for many years, I used it on this table as the colours are so cheerful.
The egg cup  with the layers of plates. The napkin rings also have a bird and the other a roos.
The plate with a single flower and cloche lid is for the cheese. The crystal vase in the centerpiece is Polish and I use it a lot C'mas time.
Our breakfast round table is right next to the formal dining area, this way we can use it when we have  more guests for a luncheon, or a dinner party. I've had 16 and more even.
The chairs in the breakfast table are vintage Dutch.

You can see the decoration better in the teapot close up and also in part of the cup with coffee. The rooster is also molded by hand.

Here is the place set for our breakfast on Saturday and Sunday morning. The charger, the plate for cheeses, ham, marmalade, the egg cup, the small fruit bowl, coffee cup and apple juice.
I've never made a breakfast table before, so this would be our special breakfast for our 37th. Wedding Anniversary and realized we love to have a special breakfasts on the weekends, Saturday and Sunday mornings, with apple juice, ham, jam, bread, eggs and fruit salad.  This  breakfast table is set with cute egg cups and other dishes in green and white that were made at our Past Ceramic Co. and I paired them with some reticulated dishes from my set of twelve.   So here you have it...our 36th. Anniversary Breakfast Bable.

Thank you for visiting us and for the lovely and kind comments you always leave me. Thank you to the gracious hostesses for having me every week at your terrific parties, that I usually can't wait to join!

FABBY: Daughter Sofia's New Home

I love this seating area, where Sofia and me love to set at night, drinking something cool and just talking girl talk and enjoying our company...nothing better than daughters, right? I would probably say this if I had a son too, but I don't, lol..
We had this pretty travertino color marble coffe table made for our daughter and SIL when they first got married.  You can have a better view of the Chinese wooden carved chest at left. Sofia just had her sofas reupholstered with this beautiful silk.
  Hi my friends!
I week ago we went to spend almost a week at our daughter Sofia's, her hubby and granddaughter's new house.  I went last December to help her with the move, but Alejandro didn't know the new house and so we went to the beach as well, as in this part of Ecuador is beach time and the beaches all over are just great.  Sofia lives by the coast, where the weather gets hotter in this time of year  and because of this reason school is off for  summer vacation.

The back yard is very pretty with a small pool, just enough not to have to much work to do and for the girls too, who love to be in it often in such great weather.
What you see is the back of the house with it's garden, where Sofia, who is a Gardenscaper by profession will eventually do a great job with it, she has some nice plans in store.
A photo taken from Sofia's bedroom' balcony.  You can see the huge maritime river that runs through the back of her garden.
A peek up the balcony.  Hubby cooked a terrific BBQ last week while we visited... he does a great job but hates the pics, lol.
What you see in the background of the garden is a huge maritime river again, where you sometimes see small boats passing by... so pretty!
 The entrance in the background.
The two oil paintings you see on the wall were painted by our SIL, he's quite the artist. He did a couple of more as well.
The dining room in the back.
Another pretty seating area for the men who seem to like to be close to the bar area, you'll see why below, lol!
That beautiful piece of furniture is Mexican with inlays of  different types of wood designs and hand done... our SIL uses it as a bar when opened.
I love this modern and classic chairs at the same token, that are a set with the pretty sofa as well. The artwork, atop the English chest is from a famous artist lady from Ecuador who loves to do this different girls with different types of dogs and we have one like that, which she specially made for us with a girl holding our beloved pug Ben who died 1 1/2 years ago, painted on.
The girls are learning to play the piano and gave us a little concert while we were there. This is a German Baldwin piano.
Victoria is seating on a beautiful antique Chinese hand carved trunk. Her pretty flower dress matches their Chihuahua's and Cayetana has pj's to match Chloe dog's.
Cayetana, Victoria and their mother are sporting great tans from 3 weeks at the beach... so lucky! Here Cayetana is dressed as Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz and she also sings Over the Rainbow too..cracks me up!
A beautiful shot of the beach resort from the apartment's balcony, where our SIL, Sofia, Victoria and Cayetana are staying for the summer too.
The entry way's foyer and the staircase to the upper floor.
We live in the Andean region, where the weather is a cold, like spring and a warmer spring all year round and even though in the North region, or the high lands of the Andes is always snowed, in the cities are not that cold.  Ok,  I hope you liked our daughter's new home.

Thank you for your lovely and kind visits, they always make my day!

Thanks to the gracious ladies that host the linky parties, I so love to join in every week.
