FABBY: Roos and Chicks

Hi everyone...here I come with some things that were made at our former Ceramic Co. and as most of you know, I used to designed them.  I have rooster and chicken pitchers, a chicken hatching in a basket with eggs and some other cute things...I couldn't display them as I have them in sealed boxes and didn't have time to start looking for them.  Never the less, here I am, hope you like what I managed to come up with for Marty's party by our dear friend Shelia at: http://notesongs.blog.spot.com/
The shape of this
The shape of this piece is colonial, it has 8 handles and it was used to keep bread fresh.  The lid has a cute chicken as a handle too.
This is the soup tureen,  the lid has a chicken with little chicks. The sugar bowls have one a rooster and the other a chicken.  The roos dinner plate and roos salad plate.

I have a set of six roosters and six chicken napkin rings.  These are hand sculped.
 The chicken napkin ring.
The sugar bowl lid with a roos........
..... and the other with a chick.
The lid of the tureen with chicken with chicks...so cute!  Everything was hand sculped.

 The rooster salad plate.
This three set of canisters were also made at our past Ceramic Co., only the decor are decals with gold.
I hope you like what I displayed, as I know I will  be thrilled to see your beautiful posts on chicks and roos...can't wait!!    I will be joining the following terrific parties as well and thanking the lovely hostesses.   Thanking all of you in advance, my blog friends, for all your lovely and sweet comments.     Love and hugs.                               FABBY

FABBY: New and Old

The Thai lamp was in the dining room before.
This is what the antique dresser, that was my hubby's grandparents, looked before.
This is what it looks now with the gorgeous hand sculpted, Foo Dog couple, NEW adquisitions.
Here you can see the female foo dog holding the baby.  (Sofia with the grands, left, we at right))
You can appreciate in the male foo dog's very intriquete work.
The beautiful wood work of the antique Spanish dresser.
The girl at the left is my daughter Alexandra.
A small chinese wooden box that was my mil's...sorry all the glare.

This is what it looks like as you come in from the foyer now, with the vintage Italian table and the dresser in the background.
The dresser is flanked by two French chairs I love, they're small, but  so confortable, too.
Another NEW adquisition.  This modern, very etherial lamp I bought at my daughter Sofia's store at  50% off!   They have gorgeous lamps, floor lamps, table lamps, chandies, etc.
The discs in the lamp are glass.  A painting of my granddaughters when they were very young.
The floor lamp next to the chinese chinoserie, or desk, which is in the wall in front of the dresser.
A lot of people have asked me about this chair...well, it was my mil's, it's an Scandinavian vintage chair, that later we had apholstered with (real, oops!) leopard skin.  I don't wear my fur coats any more, by the way... but the chair is here, as a piece of art,  I love her.
We painted her black, it was natural wood originally.
 The mantel vignette before.
The mantel now, with my hubby's grandparents, antique, art nuvou, French porcelain, flower vase, it has his grandparents initials engraved and they're just like ours, CA, that's why she left us.
My beloved mil, Eulalia, she passed away 2 1/2 yrs. ago at 88, she's here with my hubby, Alejandro...(Alex to me)
Bellow, the pretty NEW rice picker, Thai figure; she stands now in a turn of the past 20th. century, alcanfor chinese, hand decorated trunk, where my hubby's grandmother kept her linens and lace.
My hubby and I , while visiting our daughter two weeks ago, we went into this great store where they have gorgeous decorating things, trendy and classic and we both fell in love with this two hand sculptured, marvelous Foo Dogs aaand they were on sale with 40% off, so they followed us home!  Hope you like our modern touch with the floor lamp too.  I also hope you like the before and after vignette changes.  Thank you for your wonderful visits, I'm always thrilled  to hear from you.
I will also be joining the following terrific parties and thanking the lovely hostesses; I hope you join too.       Lots of love.                                    FABBY

FABBY: Pasta Time!

The layers of plates:  as chargers I used my country, Spanish dinner plates.
 The tablescape...
Had to take a pic of my mil's plant with the blooms...she's so pretty!
My hubby decorated this bowl at his former ceramic co.  I love it for the parmesan cheese.
The wine and the Italian spirits for before, during and after the pasta dinner.
The plant with so many blooms and some buds that will bloom all this week.  The pretty planter was hand decorated  at our former ceramic. co.
The Bialetti Crusimallo, coffee pot, ready to make expresso, we have great coffee around here.
Here's how the tablescape for four  looks on top of my alabaster, round table top. I used the hand made placemats, they have the same colors as the spaghetti bowls.
The red stems are Italian, I use them a lot at Christmas time with  similars in green. I layered the plates with my red Corona plates I use for everyday Christmas time, along with green ones.
My cute lace pitcher with flowers.
 The pasta serving  bowl.
The place set with the individual spaghetti bowl. The napkins are linen, made in India.
The cute demitass cups and saucers were my dad's, he loved his expresso in them...they're the hotel kind, made in the USA.....my husband and me love them too.
My mil gave my hubby for one of his birthdays, this Peruvian set of eight, vintage, small silver and jade, expresso  spoons,  aren't they so cute!
Hi there my friends!  I just got out my Italian set of six spaghetti bowls and serving big bowl,  I bought around 15 yrs. ago...to make some spaghetti with shrimp for tomorrow night, for our friends at the tenth floor, we're at the Pt. house, at the 14th. floor.  Julio is my hubby's friend and his wife, Stephanie, my best friend for 30 yrs.,  she's  American.  We'll be having  pasta with  Italian salad, similar to the Greek, lots of Italian parmesan cheese, expresso with biscotti,  Italian wine and spirits for before, during and after dinner... and lots of fun!  Hope you like it and you all can come over, too!!   Thank you for your lovely visits and I will be joining the following fun parties, thanks to the great hostesses for having me, I'm very honored!

FABBY: Antique Brass Candlesticks

OK, here we go, I'm doing what I love the most. ...Tablescaping!!  That's why I'm using my dear mil's antique, church candlesticks, she gave me a long time ago, I don't remember when; my husband thinks that they might be French because of the "fleur de lys" in the foot of each...what do you think?  I used a pretty brass fruit bowl with pedestal for the  flowers as a centerpiece, they go well together even empty. I also used my mil's 71 yr. old china, because it goes well with the place mats... you've seen before in another post!
The two candlesticks and flower centerpiece.
I love this tiny silver salt bowl with tiniest spoon!  Vintage, from a great aunt.
Silver-plated tray and salt and pepper shakers.
A few vintage things like the clock, that was my fil's.  The porcelain pieces are also vintage.
The placemats also came with a round doily, here with the cups ready for coffee after dinner.
My mil's china  with the roses, which pairs well with the rose chintz of the placemats.
My reticulated chargers that go with so many dishes.
Here is the "fleur de lys" in the foot of the candlestick.
One of the two big platters.   My mil's initials are engraved in the serving silver piece.
The stemware is French, we inherited from my mil too.

In this photo you can appreciate the placemats...I'm so glad mother gave them to me!  Bellow, the entire tablescape with my Italian brass lamp fixture.
I also want to show you my pretty, English chintz placemats, my mom just gave me, a one time gift from a friend that used to work in Fortunoff's, NYC, the beautiful store that now has shot it's doors...what a shame!   You can use both sides as the other side comes in stripes in the color of the roses of the chintz's, for a more casual table.  I hope you like this couple of elements I haven't used before in my tablescapes.
Thanking all of you, my dear friends in advance for all your wonderful visits and lovely comments.
Thanks once more to the lovely hostesses of the great parties for having me.  I will be linking to the following parties, I hope you do too and join the fun!
