Hello sweet friends!
What's with me, baking away like there's no tomorrow?!!! The thing is that I decided to try this yummy looking cake I saw at Martha's great blog, 'Lines of Linderhof' and I had all the ingredients and so I got to work... and let me tell you, it came out wonderful! I had apples and bilberries..not blueberries as the recipe calls for; but it turned out delish too!
If you want the recipe is at http://www.lflinderhof.com/search?updated-max=2013-07-17T22:16:00-05:00&max-results=7
I will save a big piece for my mother when she comes and meanwhile, Alejandro and me are having a piece in the den, while we watch Pope Francis in Brazil. We will have coffee, which he prefers and I do love coffee too,...we are having 'coffee-cake' aren't we? Oh...but you can have tea if you wish!
This "Apple-Blackberry Cake" came out yummy from blogger friend, Linderhof's' 'Lines of Linderhof great blog. |
Hand embroidered mat made in Quito, a gift from my dear Mil and the tea napkins are from my Mil's embroidered collection as well. |

Fabby, I can understand why that pattern is his favorite. The design, along with the colors make it a favorite of mine too. (I probably say that about every one of your ceramic patterns-I can't help myself-I love it.) your cake looks delicious, and that bouquet is beautiful. What a clever idea to combine that plate and bowl for a cake stand. laurie

ReplyDeleteNo wonder your hubby likes this set so much, Fabby...it is BEAUTIFUL! I love the little, hand-painted pink "Carnations". It is also amazing how much the embroidery on the heirloom napkins matches the rest of the designs.
ReplyDeleteVery clever way to create a coordinating cake plate, too.
I tried to follow your link to Martha's recipe but it doesn't seem to be working, however, I just saw where Mariette posted the correct one, so I shall go visit & capture the recipe to try here. We have LOTS of blueberries just now coming into season.
With grateful Hugs,
Rett
Hi Fabby! Thank you for linking up in my shy and quiet Beautiful Sunday series :)

First - and before I forget ;) ahahah - let me tell you I'm delighted of how many sweet and posh corners you have in your home. It's like being a six years old and be abble to always play with a different doll house :). Gorgeous and you have pieces to die for, in furniture and decor objects.
ReplyDeleteThat said I saw a print the other day that reminded me of you; Fabiola. It said "Keep Calm and Eat Cake" ahahaha
It made me thinks of you and the glorious recipes you share.
So glad I didn't see your post while watching the Brasil coverage or I'd be the one needing that cake to stay calm.
