just lovely. The little lucite kissing doves are the finishing touch! I am sure your hubby will think everything is gorgeous and love the side table of chocolates and wine.
I have a daughter-in-law who is from Beijing, China and lived there until she married my son...maybe she can find your blog from my directions and look at that plate and maybe tell us what the symbol means!! She is very flunent in English, but spoke Chinese at home. My son cannot speak Chinese so he says it is funny to visit them...his wife has to interpet for all of them!!! She and my son live in Boston now...I will let you know...

ReplyDeleteOh, for heaven's sake, Fabby...those dishes with the Chinese symbol are SO, SO, SO fabulous!!! Oh, my gosh...why have you not created a Chinese New Year tablescape with those??? They are magnificent!!! I have no idea what the symbol is, but I'm sure it means something nice. :-) Your teacups are the ultimate! The design on them is so pretty!!! They look so delicate, too. I love to sip coffee or tea from a delicate cup! Beautiful, Miss Fabby!

ReplyDeleteWhat a treat to have a comment from you! I enjoy your blog tremendously. Your pottery is similar to Talavera and since I have lived in Mexico I have seen quite a lot of it. Yours though is especially beautiful.

The Mexico family is well and the young lady is now 16 and doing well in school. My granddaughter just turned 8 and our grandson will turn 4 in March. Times is passing way too quickly. With so much family in Mexico as far as I am concerned we don't get there enough.

These dishes were made as a commemoration on the death of Chiang-Kai Chek.
ReplyDeletefyi: I attended the service & have 2 sets of 8 of this set.
I'm so glad it was for Chiang Kai Shek's funeral, who was not comunist and made the dishes for him specially. Incredible you attended his funerals in 1975, very impressive and you also have two sets, wow! Thank you again Francy.
