I thought I go for an early Autumn tablescape, after I've been getting inspired from some of your beautiful fall settings. The weather in the Andean region of Cuenca-Ecuador, where I reside, it's just like fall this time of year and it always reminds me of Autumn in New York, which I loved and you might even see some fallen leaves in the ground. I hope you like it.
I used my dishes from 1975, the year we were married, so now they're almost vintage, right?..lol It's stoneware, Anchor Hacking and the pink in the dishes, displays a soft transition to my Fall table.
I made my arrangement in a galvanized flower vase with flowers in oranges and stargazer-Lillis in pinks to accentuate the pattern in the dishes and the pink embroidered place mats. I used some cute shaped gourds and little pumpkins I found in the supermarket, all around the flower vase.
The pink water glasses and sherbets are Polish and the clear crystal wine glasses are French from my Mil's
I love the smell and the beauty of the star-lillies. Oh, I might add..hubby hates the smell of them, lol..
Loving the cute shape gourds I found in my local supermarket. I also bought big pumpkins for later.
A high shot standing on a chair...Alejandro always says: "You are going to fall".. so he should volunteer than, he's 6,1ft.!
The under tablecloth is in a fall, dark reddish-brown, like, which also makes the pinks pop... the pink flowers, embroidered placemats and napkins, dishes, and glasses.
The Anchor Hacking dinner plate with a big pink flower from 1975 and I still like it after so many years! |
The placemat, dinner plate and salad plate, are also with the big pink flower and I love the strokes of gray in the dishes. I always thought that the combo, gray and pink it's so pretty.
The place set which I paired with pink sherbets.
I added some green pears mother just brought me when she came for lunch today.
I used as under tablecloth a reddish-brown, fall color, to go with all the pink on top of it. I also have one in rust as under linens, from my daughter Sofia's wedding that were used in her cake and sweets table station.
So here you have it...my first Autumn Tablescape.
As always, thank you so very much for your wonderful and generous comments, they always make my day and are very appreciated.

Fabby, You always surprise me with a new, gorgeous, and totally different tablescape each time! I loooove those embroidered placemats and napkins, they go so perfectly with the pretty dishes!
ReplyDeleteI'm also ready for Fall time!
What a pretty, pretty tablescape. Those dishes look like they were made for those placemats. You set such an elegant table, Fabby. I love the Stargazer lilies in your flower arrangement, too. xo Diana
ReplyDeleteWow, Fabby, that is just beautiful! I was wondering about what season you are in in relation to the equator. Love your plates so much and the place mats are just gorgeous!! The compotes are just beautiful also!!
ReplyDeleteFabby, your linens are beautiful and perfect with the Stargazer lilies and your dishes. Very pretty in deed! ~ Sarah
ReplyDeleteFabby, another beautiful tablescape! You have so many pretty dishes and glassware! The dishes and placemats match perfectly. The stargazer lily is one of my favorite flowers. My hubby buys them for me and the fragrance scents the whole house. Love your setting!
ReplyDeleteDearest Fabby,
ReplyDeleteYou made me laugh for having to climb on a chair to get an aerial view of your table. For conversing with the person behind the huge table arrangement, you almost have to climb on a chair too. You cannot see each other. Love the arrangement but for me it would be better on a side board as in my opinion the conversation with table guests is more important.
Lovely plates and placemats. You got lots of special sets and I bet you can go on an on for quite a while before we've seen them all.
Enjoy your cooler weather. Here it is cooling just a bit, in one week we're getting there.
Hugs to you,
Mariette
Hi Fabby,
ReplyDeletegreat tablesetting as always. Love the colors and the placemats with the china are gorgeous. Thank you for sharing this autumn delight.
Best greetings, Johanna
How sweet! LOVE!

I like those linens there. And the dishes look like they were made for those placemats. So nicely done.

I'm not ready for autumn yet, but you have set a beautiful table! I'm posting for Deva of Fresh Pastry Stand. Her beeswax candles would look lovely on your table, too!
ReplyDeleteFabby,
ReplyDeleteWhat lovely dishes, dear friend! I adore the bright pink and orange hues of your tablescape! The detail on your placemats is exquisite!!! Do be careful standing on a chair...broke my leg doing that once...many, many years ago. Now I have a sturdy 2 step ladder! Enjoy the briskness of the mornings with your Autumn~like weather!!!
Fondly,
Pat
It's never too early to be thinking of Autumn for me!
ReplyDeleteI love the way the light seems to change, these last days of August.
We even have trees that have begun to change, here.
Wow, FABBY! Your cotton linen hand embroidered placemats and napkins are exquisite. I used to love to do embroidery and don't see much to buy anymore to do needlework. I am impressed with the local women's work. You are inspiring me to think about fall however, the weather is not giving our area that feel. We are in very humid and raining days from the storm. I am thankful that's all we have. Many are suffering from downed trees, no power and flooding to the west of me and along the coast.
ReplyDeleteIt is neat to hear people express their happiness with their dishes even years later. When you enjoy tablescaping it makes those eating at your table feel your happiness. That is nice. Have a great weekend.
Very pretty as usual Fabby. You know my favorite on the table are your embroidered napkins and placemats. They go so well with your lovely plates. We just got hit by Hurricane Isaac yesterday but aside from broken planters, we're ok. It's just gloomy and still raining today....Christine
ReplyDeleteFabby, I love the use of the pinks with the more traditional Fall colors. It makes for a beautiful transitional design. The linens won my heart, and they are perfect with your Anchor Hocking dinnerware. Thanks for inviting us for a peak. Cherry Kay
ReplyDeleteYou've set another beautiful table, dear Fabby. I think it's wonderful that you have dishes from back when you were first married, there must be some wonderful memories attached to them.
ReplyDeleteThe pink sherbet glasses are gorgeous!
Have a beautiful day, my sweet friend.
Hugs, Cindy
That was so nice of your Mom to bring you pears! She's a nice Mom! Please tell her hello from Lee's Summit, MO, U.S.A.! :-) (That's pretty much in the center of the whole country.) You did a wonderful job on this first table of the Fall season, Fabby! I am not ready for Fall yet. It is still hovering around 100 degrees here (still with NO RAIN!!!), so it will be awhile before I can get in the mood. This table, however, is a good starting point! :-) I hope you have a relaxing weekend!!! Oh....I DID see the movie "Autumn in New York" with that gorgeous Richard Gere. I was too busy looking at HIM to notice any of the surroundings! ;-)
ReplyDeleteHard to believe it is almost fall. We have had such a dry summer it is coming early here in Missouri. Thanks for stopping by, always love to hear from you and see your beautiful tables. Richard from My old Historic House
ReplyDeleteYour tablescape is gorgeous!! It sure makes me want to do some 'fall' in my house, but, alas, it is 98 degrees outside today! Hard to get motivated, guess I'll TRY to wait another month become doing any fall decorating. Visiting from Vintage Thingie Thursdy, enjoyed stopping by !!
ReplyDeleteA very well done fall table setting.
ReplyDeleteLove your table! I am a lover of lilies and the stargazers are perfect with the gourds and mini pumpkins. Great flowered dishes and glassware!
ReplyDeleteI am so waiting for fall to hit the prairie, but have another month or more before it will even begin to cool off! Beautiful table...love the bright orange candles.
ReplyDeleteHi Fabby! Oh, what a gorgeous table and the fallen touches are so pretty! I'm really ready for some fall weather.
ReplyDeleteThank so much for popping in to see me.
be a sweetie,
Shelia ;)

I did not KNOW you lived in Ecuador!!!
ReplyDeleteFall is my favorite season and this post served as delicious 'eye candy' for me!!
Loved every single picture and THANK you for that shot where you were standing on a chair. It is beautiful!
So.....are your seasons the same as here?
Fabby, Your first autumn table is just stunning. I love the pink flowers and the mats and napkins that look made for one another.
ReplyDeleteThe sherbet and waters are so pretty too. I love the pink sherbets. They look a little like depression glass.
I also love the night sky out your window. I loved seeing the lights.
I chuckled about Alejandro. He probably wouldn't even need a chair.
Love to you both.
So pretty! The galvanized container is perfection and all of those gourds...oh my! So pretty I am ready for fall!

Your table is just beautiful, Fabby! The floral arrangement is gorgeous. I love the look of the star-gazer, but I don't really like the smell either. I really like how you've pulled all the shades of orange, pink & all the hues in between -- works beautifully!
