"Toile de Jouy" Placemats & Runner

Hello sweet friends !

I just got my placemats in the "Toile de Jouy" material I reupholster my dining chairs last February and I had plenty of cloth left over to make a 'Valance' (which I posted) for my  dining room window and 8 placemats and runner for the table.

I also found a very pretty floral tapestry type material for the other face of the placemats, to make them 'reversible' and to go with my new china I brought from Spain at the end of April.

Here is the toile ready for a dinner setting with my reticulated china which is 'ivory' as are the figurines in the toile print...  and a sample of the reverse as well.

The dear friends that follow me know I reupholster my dining chairs with a "Toile de Jouy Paisannery" last February after we came back home from Miami, where I bought it.

This post is mostly to share how I not only did the chairs, but got so much left over 'Toile' to do a Valance for the only window in the dining room and more to make 8 placemats plus runner.

I am loving it !

All of the 8 placemats have this perfect Toile scenery and it's called in French "Paisannery."

The beautiful "Urn" is German, with hand painted pink roses hubby bought me a few years ago, because of that detail he so appreciates.

As some of you know Mr. Living owned a Ceramic Co. so he knows very different techniques to create and decorate ceramic, or porcelain.

I love this china hubby gifted me in 2010 just because I lost my mind over it, lol..

It's complete for twelve place settings and it also has teacups and saucers, two round and oval platters, as well as chargers, shown here with the dinner plates and soup plates.

Reticulated charger and dinner plate.

The lovely 'pearl napkin ring' on top of the salad plate, was a gift from my daughter Sofia for this Mother's Day past.

Here to show you the pretty finish on the table runner.

As I mentioned earlier, I picked this brocade material for the reverse of the runner and placemats because it goes really nice with my Portuguese new china I hawled from Spain last April. Don't you think it goes nicely ?

I will also eventually create a setting with this side.

Thank you so much dear friends for your generous comments, you always make my day !

Thanking the lovely hostesses for having me at their great parties.

LOVE,
FABBY
