FABBY: Sea Inspired Dinner Table

Hello sweet friends!

       I've been looking and enjoying such pretty table scape's for Summer by the sea and I am so very inspired too, even though here it's chilly, even cold sometimes; but now that children are on their school vacation the families go to the beach resorts.

 Anyway, this setting is dedicated to all of you my friends who are enjoying Summer time.

I've used my 'Multiple Choice' dishes with fishes in soft pastel colors and shells in every shape and form in the beautiful antique French bowl, for this theme table.

Having said that, here goes.

The four dinner plates are 'Limoges' from the dishes mother gifted me years ago. The soup bowls, or pasta bowls and salad plates with pastel fishes are 'Multiple Choice.'

The beautiful antique from the last turn of the century, 'French Art Nouveau' centerpiece bowl was my Mil's and she left Alejandro because it has the same initials as his grandparents and ours now.

I also used in this 'sea table setting' my 'German-Bavarian,' antique teaset, and as you can see here it has the same turquoise flowers as the Limoges and the antique French centerpiece bowl.

This is a vintage 'English' teapot I bought three years ago and as you can appreciate it in the pic it has vessels at sea.

The other side of the teapot has soldiers landing.



The 'Limoges' dinner plate; as I love turquoise, it reminds me of the sea. 

The antique French centerpiece bowl is decorated with natural shells I brought from our vacation last May.

The monogram here with Alejandro's grandparents on his dad's side, it was CA, just like ours is now. Therefore, my Mil left it to us, besides been a beautiful family heirloom. We were so lucky!

The cocktail etched stems here are antique 'French' and are part of a big set we have of many styles that were my Mil's ...and the etched wine glasses in the center are ours and are 'Venetian.'

And here is our antique French breakfast table, newly acquired a week ago by sweet Mr. Living, who fell in love with the beautiful carvings on it!

FABBY: June's Rosary Gathering Tea

Hello sweet friends!

As you all know by now that I host a 'Rosary Gathering' prayer with some special ladies, every last Wednesday of each month.

We're about ten, sometimes more and after prayers we have a very simple tea, with bread, cheese, home made jams and sometimes something different cause someone brings it, or I make.

Here is my last Rosary tea party for June.



I used for the June's Rosary this lovely Belgium lace tablecloth I bought so many years ago for my daughter Alexandra's First Communion. Underneath it is a pink topper to give the setting a little color.
The teacups and saucers are Italian Tognana.

In June the town of Cuenca celebrates 'Corpus Christy' and all over the town's square there are these delish cookies and are a must have this season.
Here I have them in the rectangular platter.

The pretty pink cyclamen came from my kitchen sill.

Rustic brown French bread. The squares servings in back are pieces of cheese ready.

The two flower platters were made at our former Ceramic factory.

I'm so glad I remembered this lovely Belgium tablecloth for this tea table.

The plain teapot at your right was made at our past ceramic factory.

FABBY: New Antique French Round Table

Hello sweet friends!

     Last Tuesday Mr. Living went shopping and bought a beautiful round dining table for our breakfast area.

The friends that follow me know that I had a gorgeous, 'alabaster table top' on my previous breakfast table, but now our daughter Alexandra has such a table.   Hold on! I'll tell you the story behind the new table, lol!

You see, our pug Ben that died four years ago chewed on the 'simple legs' of our round 22 yr. old breakfast table when he was a puppy and he died at almost 13 years of age, so you can imagine for how long I had it like this, lol!

 Alejandro kept on telling me that I should look around for an antique round table with gorgeous legs, to fit the alabaster on top of the new table. Being that I am such an 'obedient wife,' I've been looking around for the last two years, to no avail.

I always found them not to be Alejandro's taste, or the foyer kind, or too big to fit the alabaster top, etc. I didn't care because on my subconscious it reminded me of Ben, our sweet pug.

One good day, last Tuesday, the sales lady from the European Antique shop called me and informed me she had two gorgeous arrivals, of antique French tables.

 I called Mr. Living and told him to go and see them himself and he bought it to my surprise!

He had loved it immediately, but it turned out to be two inches larger than the old one, so that's how he had the idea to give Alexandra the alabaster table and 'both parties' are so happy now; our DD and us ...and since I'm one of those people that likes change most of the time, even if it was 'forced upon me' heheheee... I loved the idea!

Here she is, the 'antique French' solid oak, round table with hand carved accents Alejandro purchased it himself and she was also pretty good priced for what it is!

Look how grate the vintage Dutch chairs look next to the elegant table...I love it!

I love the wavy edges on the table and of course, the beautiful hand carved bottom that caught Alejandro's eye and made him decide on buying it, even if it was 2 inches larger than the previous, therefore, the alabaster top was too small for it now.

Cannot compare this, to what we have now. We send the table to get fixed so we can give it to our daughter, though; as all chewed up by our puppy several years ago, it was simply awful...I was used to it, though...hehehe...

We are also very happy that the vintage Dutch chairs, which have lovely legs now look perfect next to the French table.

We loved the finish on the 'oak table top' too and it's in perfect state. Not as gorgeous as an 'alabaster top'...but we're so happy that our sweet daughter Alex owns it now after we have enjoyed it for 22 years.
