Hello dear friends!
Our English buffet has fallen for sure, although our crazy weather in our neck of the woods is gotten warmer and sunny just like spring, as it should be around here, in the southern hemisphere. For almost a month we've been having cold fall weather, as you know it in the US.
I've been admiring beautiful tiers decorated for fall from my blog friends and from Pinterest, so I got inspired to do one in my silver three tier I had forgotten I had and it's a rectangular shaped one for some restaurants...the type that waiters carry to bring desserts to your table to choose from.
The antique English buffet came from my Mil's parents and from her, we have it now to take care of. This is our breakfast area. The tureen with a chicken and chicks on the lid, is part of the dishes I'm displaying in the buffet.
The runner is a brown crushed velvet with tassels at both ends. I usually use it on my Thanksgiving table.
I used this three tier stand to make my fall arrangement, it's also standing on a lazy-Susan plate, I use for making flower arrangements and for cake decorating...as I used it for decorating this tier too.
With small pumpkins, cute gourds, Indian corn and some dry leaves and flowers...and some fresh fruit.
I like the oil hurricane, I forgot I had!
I love this hurricane oil lamp, that was used at my niece's wedding, as part of her reception's dinner tables centerpieces.. she than gave us aunts, one each.... the bottom of the lamp is with oil and if you touch the top of the wick as it exits the top of the burner and it looks moist, the lamp is ready to be lit. The mud duck is Chinese.
The brown transferware plate is, Maestricht, Old Bridge, from Holland.
I used my special, hand made and hand decorated tea set, from our former Ceramic Co., Monte Turi and designed by me, inspired in the indigenous people's apparel. The lids in the creamer and sugar bowl have a little duckling in each.
We will be visiting our daughter Alexandra for her birthday next week, so I will be slowly dropping by to visit you all too...but I definitely will!
I'm thanking you all in advance, sweet friends, for all the wonderful and kind comments you always leave me.. they so make my day!
Thanking all the lovely and gracious hostesses for the terrific parties, as I will be joining the fun.
LOVE,
FABBY

FABBY: Dinner Party for our Nephew
Our darling, tall, handsome and wonderful nephew came for a two week visit, to his parents, my brother Joe and his wife, Lourdes, who is hubby's sister..YES, I'm married to Alejandro and my brother is married to his sister! Therefore, we both share the joy of having this wonderful and handsome boy as "our" nephew, who will be graduating from Berklee College of Music in Boston next year, with a career in Music Engineering...we are so proud.
Last night I made a quick dinner in Daniel's honor, with eight members of our family and that's why the table is in my blue and white onion dishes, silver tablecloth, chargers and candle holders. I was so lucky that the centerpiece it's still so fresh and pretty, from my last table scape, five days ago. I mentioned last week that, weather around my neck of the woods is like Fall right now.
I thought it was a masculine table for our nephew, in blue and white, with silver.
In Oct., or Nov. 2011 we changed our window treatment, from draperies to Hunter Douglas shades and so I had made a tablecloth from the dining room curtains and here it is.
I had this tablecloth from a fine fabric made out of our dining room draperies. It has very soft gold and blue cris-cross lines running thru it and the background of the thick satin, is silvery.
For the silver accent I used my pewter chargers and bread plates to match, as you can see the table topper is silvery too.
The tablecloth cost me to re-purpose it from the curtains only $8, that the seamstress charged me for making it.
I had this kind of wide pleats made all around it, cause the curtain material wasn't wide enough for the dinner table.
After five days and the centerpiece it's still fresh and pretty in my galvanized vase. Mercury glass candle holders for more silver touches.
Blue butterfly napkin ring, made at our former Ceramic Co.
Lots of blue for our dear nephew Daniel.
In the back drop a tea station.
I hope you liked it.
Thank you so much my lovely friends for all the wonderful comments you always leave me.
Thanks gracious and lovely hostesses for having me at your terrific parties each week.
